information is concerned, this is what we know at this point. police say it was shortly before 5:00 this evening eyewitnesses told police two men opened fire. their target appeared to be a white car. police say a 13 year-old is sitting inside that car, was hit twice, once in his thigh, and once in his arm. we found that car nearby, park in the 2,000 block of hamburger street and we in fact saw about a handful of bullets on the front passenger side of that car. and, at this point as you mentioned police say that the 13 year-old was immediately rushed to chop and right now that child is listed in stable condition. once again this is a developing story, police are on the scene, once again they believe, according to eyewitnesses here at the scene the same two men, who were involved in that initial shooting are reported to have run into a home in the 2,000 block of mountain street.

police declared a barricade situation here and as soon as we get any more information we will bring it to you but that is very latest from south philadelphia, i'm elizabeth hur, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thanks very much. tonight other top story involves bears in the suburbs. there have been several bear sight goes in the last few weeks, and four south jersey townships right around this area. it is believed at least two bears are lingering around populated areas tonight. >> lets look at those, there are several different areas where these bears have been spotted. lets see, winslow township. waterford township, evesham township and mount laurel. they are all spotted in those areas and many people want to know what is caution the increase in this bear activity. >> that is the the big question tonight and for answers about that we will turn to "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter who joins us from mount laurel with more, walt. >> reporter: just when we thought we were running out of things to blame on last winter's miserable winter, how

about about an explosion of bears in the suburbs. how is that again? well, bears had their natural food supply destroyed in many cases by the fierce winter so just like when they close a super mark in your neighborhood and you go elsewhere bears have been ranging further out trying to get food he was big fury and not in a hurry. black bear spotted by sue alwine and her husband outside their evesham township home saturday. >> shocking. i don't know what else to say about it. >> reporter: police say the same bear has been wondering through local neighborhoods since first being spotted in water ford township last week. his most resenter experience at mount laurel and church roads at 9:00 o'clock monday morning, abe at dinner time around hainesport and heartford roads. >> it was pretty amazing because he wasn't scared of people, which we thought he would be more skiddish, you

know, people were around watching him and he was not frayed. >> reporter: local schools and neighbors were alerted by police but there were no lock downs or evacuations. curiosity, trumping concern for at least one neighbor. >> i want to see him. i'm not scared. i wanted to see what he looked like in person. >> reporter: police warned never to approach the bear. alwine's taking these pictures and video from safely inside of their home. >> obviously as bear population is increasing in the state we will see this activity more often. >> reporter: police say black bears like this have been spotted in all 21 new jersey counties as their natural habitats shrink. and officials add that the harsh win the their killed off food supplies means it is likely you'll be seeing more and more of them in unexpected neighborhoods, as they search for something to eat. police say two bear sightings last week in winslow township apparently are a second bear, not the this bear.

finally state gaming officials say they are not joining search for this bear for the time being, they say he has shown no signs of being dangerous or harmful and they are hoping that he'll just go back where he came from. live from mount laurel i'm walt hunter cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we will turn to weather now getting ready for a big warm up. it was a beautiful tatters day to day was nice as well but also a little warm. baltimore and washington. we have another batch west of williamsport but by the time they make it to our area rather it will be in the form of the the scattered shower. philadelphia 87. high to daze 88. allentown 85. trenton 85. down the the shore temperatures in the 70's. this evening it will be warm, 82 at 7:00 p.m. moon lit and muggy at 9:00. . in m at 78. by 11:00 p.m. the stray shower is possible. especially towards midnight hour. temperature is 75 degrees. coming up we will take a look at our stretch of 90's and also, when the storms return to the forecast, you know, it won't be long. i'll see you later on in the broadcast. >> kathy, thank you. philadelphia police confirmed two men involve in the shoot-out at a fathers day block part write shot by officers. the gun fire erupted in the 3200 block of north randolph street. authorities say that two male suspects would not drop their weapons and they tried to runaway. police shot the a 36 year-old man several times. he is listed in critical condition. another suspect was shot in the arm by police and he is in

stable condition. and another man is also in custody. a school bus and a vehicle collided in northeast philadelphia, sending two people to the hospital with minor injuries. chopper three over roosevelt boulevard and goodnau street where that accident happened just after 8:00 this morning. there were students on that bus but they were not hurt. the the accident is under investigation. developing news tonight, clashes in iraq worse after sunni militants seized control of another key city to day. they call themselves islamic state of iraq in syria. or isis. thousands have been forced to flee their homes as these militants fight their way towards baghdad. the obama administration says it is opened to talks with iran to provide support, for the iraqi military more u.s. warships have also arrived in the persian gulf. meantime concerns are growing for iraqi native who live in our area today

"eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao spoke with one woman hoist keeping a close watch on her father overseas. >> reporter: life for this woman is much more simple now. she works. she goes to school. her family is safe in america. that is all but one, her father still lives in iraq. every day, she wonders and worries. >> i call him, and i cry. i pick up the even if and cry. i said can you go to him. >> reporter: thought of losing him brings tears to her eyes. she's an refugee living in northeast philadelphia her father lives in basra, southern iraq, while he is removed from the violence her friend and families are not as fortunate. >> we cannot go out. at 6:00 o'clock you cannot go out. >> reporter: her father says video like this clips shown on the news of attacks by militant groups. he was eight years old when two of her own uncles were killed after speaking out begins saddam hussein.

between girard and allegheny. goal to make way for construction. crews will be rebuilding and expand ago this road so expect delays in the future. a similar traffic pattern shift is in the southbound lanes and is scheduled for next monday. septa says it is pleased with this trial run of, weekend overnight services on the broad street market street lines. this started over the weekend. atlantic city is taking steps to court gay and lesbian supporters. >> the town's mayor took part in the dedication today of is what being called a gay friendly beach. >> i'm so delighted to be the mayor of atlantic city where we don't just love our diversity but we embrace it. >> reporter: with the rainbow flag that marked the entrance atlantic city's openly gay mayor don guardian designated park place beach as lgbt friendly. >> don has a lot of work ahead of them but is there excitement in the air. you can feel it in atlantic city. >> reporter: in the first six months guardian made clear efforts to draw visitors and clean up the cities appearance. guardian's biggest challenge is finding money to operate the city, in the last four
