can shoot us a tweet at cbs philly. >> turning to the other story that has people talking to day that would be the weather, we're still tracking showers moving through the area now, meteorologist kate bilo joins us from the weather center with the very latest, kate. >> i don't know about you but i was woken up in the middle of the night with those storms that passed through severe storms, lots of lightening and we will go back and look at damage reports here in a minute but first let's show what you is happening right now. good news is that the the clouds came in, temperatures cooled off and air stabilized enough that this front as it is pushing south has in the been bringing any severe weather. it is just a couple showers, you can see it drifting south of philadelphia, we're seeing the sun coming out in the poconos and lehigh valley but these showers are heading for the shore. this front is producing severe weather. lets look off to the south and look at all that lightening, severe thunderstorm watch and warnings in effect richmond, virginia area and these will miss us to the south so we will not see anything american just showers we are seeing right now. lets do a least cap on what happened last night. here's a loop overnight to see

how quickly these storms came through from midnight through three or 4:00 a.m. and lots of lightening with these. lets look at just one frame here on the radar, about 1:45 a.m. and we will query these storms and see how much lightening strikes we got just in this five minute frame and take a look at this numbers, over 1200 lightening strikes on this one frame of radar ape lightening strikes did produce damage reports all across the region. we have reports of house fires in the area the lets look at these west deptford township house fire on lynn drive due to a lightening strike. more over towards hockessin another house fire was reported thanks to the lightening strike v dangerous cloud to ground lightening up towards bucks county house was struck by lightening a lot of problems last night. good news, showers, and there is some storms for upcoming forecast, for the weekend, kathy and i will have that in a bit. jessica, back over to you. tonight should be a lot calmer then last night this was the scene in the early morning hours, mother nature in full display, check out this slow motion shot of

lightening striking over margate as powerful storms moved through. those same storms caused damage across the area like here in quakertown, trees, branches along comrie road. fortunately no one was hurt. take a look at the this amazing shot of the lightening strike in norwood bergen county. sean sent us this photo where a streak was forking out across the the sky there. take a look at this video from south dakota where a tornado touched down in the small town of westing ton springs. anything in it its what i did not stand a chance. only a handful of people in the town were injured, because they did heed the warning to find shelter. if it is safe for you to take a picture during the storm we do want to see it. end us your fishings on facebook or twitter just use the hash tag cbs-3 storm. we have learned more about the crash, that seriously injured the comedian tracie morgan. ntsb investigators say the driver of the truck that hit morgan's limo van was speeding, and "eyewitness

news" reporter jane carabao has new details from a preliminary report just released. >> reporter: these newly released images show aftermath of the deadly accident on the new jersey turnpike in cranberry township. one dead, four injuries, and including actor tracie morgan. now federal investigators say that the driver of the tractor trail their caused the wreck was traveling 20 miles per hour faster then the speed limit. >> he is a fun guy and i'm sorry that he was involved in that. >> reporter: national transportation safety board says that truck driver kevin roper was going 65 miles per hour right before the crash. the speed limit on that stretch of turnpike is just 45, because of a construction project, investigators say signs, a mile away from the crash, warned of the lane closures and a half mile away they say speed limit signs reduced speed from 55 to 45. authorities say roper failed to notice traffic slowing. >> i experience it all the time. i was doing like 55 to 60, and they went by me like they were

doing 80. i mean that was a truck. >> reporter: this preliminary report renewed focus on work zone safety. >> be aware, ab alert, don't tailgate, drive the posted work zone speed. >> reporter: consequences are costly and deadly, just a week before, minister again's crash a pennsylvania turnpike worker was killed in west pike land township when a tractor trailer entered a closed lane. >> we want to make sure that the workers that are in the work zone whether they are department force or contractor employees come home safely just like the traveling public. >> reporter: now ntsb investigators also say roper logged 13 hours in 32 minutes at the time of the collision, that is actually under the maximum 14 hour consecutive duty period allowed for commercial drivers. investigators are also still trying to determine how much rest roper got in the days and hours leading up to that crash. in the sat center, jane carabao, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> thank you. a 19 year-old man is rush to the hospital after the car he was in collided with

another car in west philadelphia. "eyewitness news" at 58th and girard just after 12:30 today. that accident was initially thought to be a hit and run but striking vehicle to return to the scene. no word right now on the injured man's condition. prosecutors filed more child sex abuse charges against former malvern music teacher anton fauxman 36789 more children accused fauxman have of showing them sexually explicit photos. he was a music teacher at malvern school of music. prosecutors originally charged the the 44 year-old with abusing, three, six year-old students. man nicknamed the swiss cheese pervert pleads guilty to indecent exposure and harassment charges. christopher paying again owe's trial was set to begin this morning. in january the four two-year old was accused of offering to pay four women to put swiss cheese on his private areas and perform sexual acts. today the judge sentenced pagano to eight years probation. following a week of deliberations the president laid out his plan to help iraq

fend off attack from sunni militants. those militants are trying to establish an islamic state within parts of the iraq and syria. cbs news correspondent craig boswell gives us a look at the president's plan. >> reporter: president obama says he is ready to send up to 300 military advisors to iraq to help country from falling in the full scale civil war. >> american forces, returning to combat, in iraq, but we will have helped iraqis taking the fight to terrorist who threatened the iraqi people, region and american interests as well. >> reporter: president is not ordering air strikes as of right now, but confirmed he has increased surveillance over iraq. >> going forward we will be prepared to take targeted and precise military action if, and when, we determine that the the situation on the ground requires it. >> reporter: president obama did in the call for iraqi prime minister nor i al-maliki, something many in congress says needs to happen. >> maliki has to be transitioned out, but the only way that is going to happies

affiliates. >> it is called an opt out clause, automatically giving companies consent to share personal information, unless you read fine print and take action. wyndam's web at says it collect is a dress and credit card fur to pictures and social media id's, information it may share with other hotels, vendors and service providers. >> privacy programs, by definition, are not consumer friendly. >> reporter: consumer add ohio cade joe rideout said most corporations of opt out policies because they know most people don't read fine print. selling or sharing that information can be lucrative but risky for consumer and opting out may in the be enough. >> if you do opt out it can be shared before hand. best to restrict as much information as possible. without giving them a phone number or genuine e-mail address if they have no need for this information. >> reporter: wyndham says it takes reasonable steps to protect the the information but cannot ensure its security. you may recall, wyndham's computer systems were breached

we have rain around the area this afternoon we're tracking it with team three weather coverage. >> we have kathy orr live at the shore in atlantic city but first we will check with meteorologist kate bilo in the cbs-3 weather center, kate. >> it looks like kathy broke out rain jacket we will see if the showers made it down the shore, they are just starting to clear city of philadelphia, take a look at skies scan three, looking over the bridge and river and blue skies, as darker clouds begin to clear and the showers, move on out of here. it will be a much nicer night then certainly we had last night. the lets look at storm scan

three and you can see what is happening. here's our front oriented east to west, it is now pushing south and we have clouds all daze today and we have showers all day, stabilizing the air. we dodged a bullet, off to the south though you can see these storms really rock ago cross portions of the eastern virginia, a lot of lightening, heavy rain as well so good thing we are not getting in on that action today. we are seeing these showers intensify as they move in northern cape may county. you can see that dot of yellow because this area had more sunshine then we did in the city, air is more unstable so we can see pockets of heavier showers. with the showers that came through with the clouds, temperatures in better than low to mid 70's and that is about 20 degrees cooler then it it was at this time yesterday, a huge departure, from those mid 90's we felt yesterday. very, very steamy day. we got to 94. today our high is just 78 degrees. now temperatures have dropped in the wake of the showers, that just came through.

but as that front moves to the south tomorrow high pressure noses in nice day highs back in the mid 80's with lower humidity. on saturday showers mainly off to the south, we will clear out in the afternoon and staying cool for first day of the summer with highs in the 70's but then back to high pressure and temperatures in the 80's again as we head into your sunday. for rest of tonight 63 degrees, clearing skies, much cooler then recent nights, less humid at 63 again. for tomorrow 85, sunny, nice, comfortable, just a beautiful friday and here's you're witness weather three day forecast, beautiful friday and slightly cooler, ironically enough as we start season of summer here on saturday. some unis, shower from the city on south and sunday looks great we are at 83 today and it does stay mostly sunny. never a bad day kathy joins us live from atlantic city, hi, katie.

>> believe it or in the rain is in the bad for sand sculpting, it helps, we will talked to a renowned sand sculpture to explain why that is so. right now in atlantic city thinks the world cup of sand sculpting. this is opening day, and we have artists, already hard at work. we also have our own costume cbs-3 desk here, for the second year in a row, so we will be broadcasting from that this afternoon, and starting to day you can see, 20 art carvers, these sand carvers that will be turning 500 tons of sand into works of art, so, you'll be seeing different types of characters, and different things emerge from these mounds of sand. now take a look at the end results from last years competition. sand was sculped into classical greek art, mythical dragons that appear to be rising from the beach and, of course, sand castles and dozens more a beautiful work

tolerated in berks county. >> reporter: thirteen people air rested after officialness berks county conduct a child pornography sweep, 12 men, plus a 17 year-old boy are facing several charges for possessing and disseminating thousands of images. >> when you distribute, disseminate, prop gate it throughout the the internet, child is exploited not just ones but several times over. >> reporter: authority conduct sweep for the past year and a half. berks county district attorney john adams says 12 men come from all different walks of life from professionals to general laborers but now they are facing jail time. >> it could ruin their lives, so why they continue to participate in this type of behavior is sort of difficult to comprehend. >> reporter: one of the men is a respected doctor. steven schwartz is a neurologist. we went to his office in wyomissing but employees did not want to comment. d.a. says at rest should send a message to those who

continue to down load child pornography. >> we will catch you, you will get arrested and suffer the consequences. >> reporter: and each count the men are charged with can carry up to seven years in jail. in reading, syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". search continues tonight for three suspects, who kidnaped a teenager and terrorized his parents. it all happened, yesterday in the somerton section of the city. a 15 year-old was walking home when he was forced in the car by armed men. investigators say two of them went to the teen's home, tied up and robbed his parents. the men then took off with the teenager in toe but later left him unarmed, at 23rd and fairmount. police say robbers stole about $30,000 worth of cash and jewelry. a new survey shows number of uninsured americans is declining due to the expansion of the medicaid under affordable care act. pennsylvania is one of the only three states still debating whether to expand coverage. robert wood johnson foundation

says number of uninsured has dropped by nearly 57 percent in the cities, benefiting from medicaid expansion. it is estimated expanding coverage in pennsylvania would reduce the total number of uninsured in philadelphia by 55 percent. the fire fly music festival kick off just a few minutes ago in delaware. it is one of the biggest music events on the east coast but if you are going you can expect major delays due to the 495 bridge closure and closed exits. chopper three over the area a little earlier today, where, the dover exits on southbound delaware route one, cobbs earth goers, traveling on route one southbound you need to get off exit 95. and, at cbs philly.com. absolutely heading in to delaware is quite the feat today and trying to get to

i-95 on 476 is also going to be quite an obstacle. the lets talk about what we are dealing with here, accident southbound 476, approaching area have of saint david, villanova. it is compromising left-hand lane and you can only imagine what this is doing to 476, even back towards mid county tolls, and affecting the schuylkill, pennsylvania turnpike and also the northeast extension. lets move over to i-95, traveling on i-95 northbound we have an accident around allegheny, it is causing quite a delay for our folks on i-95 stemming back towards penns landing and continues to be slow all the way through to cottman avenue, and that would be this accident here. taking a look at speed sensors notice in both directions of i-95 we are in the red between northeast philadelphia and south philadelphia. if you are traveling on the southbound side of i-95, on columbus boulevard we have down wires, the southbound side only the right lane is blocked, so we will finally have movement earlier, both sides, of columbus boulevard, delaware avenue were shut down. we are finally seeing that pick up, however, southbound
