"eyewitness news" reporter, nicole brewer, joins us from cooper your hospital in camden with the latest information, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you, erika, that is right, three people were taken here to the cooper university hospital overnight after a house fire in camden. the lets set the scene for you, roll some video, it all happened in the 600 block of cain avenue in camden around 11:15. it was placed under control a half an hour later. one person inside the home. we don't necessity who that person was or why he or she

was there but they were taken to the cooper trauma center in respiratory arrest. the other two are metro officers who suffered smoke inhalation. now at this time there is in word on their condition or how that fire got started and that includes all three people who were taken to cooper but we will continue to bring you more updates as they unfold, we are live at cooper university hospital, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". nicole, thank you. route 100 between shoemaker road and state street in up are pottsgrove township is back opened. authorities shut it down after a trash truck fire last night. the road was damaged during the fire so crews spent all night making repairs. once again though route 100 in upper pottsgrove township is back opened to traffic. ukee. investigators are comparing the rittenhouse rape suspect's dna to samples collected in other unsolved cases. this is the man charged in the case, his name is milton mateo gar see a police say this is

him seen on early saturday morning on spruce street stalking and forcing a young woman into her apartment. then accused of beating, raping, robbing her. monday night detectives pick up the suspect at his work place, a restaurant at broad and catherine. it was there they found victim's keys. then the search warrant turned up their cell phone in the south philadelphia home. >> we have this guy off the street and you can rest easy today. more importantly, this young professional woman and her family can begin to rebuild. >> garcia has been in trouble with immigration and customs, enforcement, federal authorities say he is an illegal immigrant from honduras kick out of the country years ago. police busted a suspect bank robber on the bus. they are accused of robbing a wells fargo on welsh and the boulevard. officers caught up with this man on the september bus, he tried to use as his getaway. police say a tracking device

hidden with the stolen cash, led them straight to their suspect. in injuries were reported but investigators say the man was not arm. it is 5:03. lets get traffic and weather together, and we will start with k fell. >> we have been talking about these showers and storms we're anticipating throughout the day-to-day for the last couple of days. all we have been doing the last few days is just starting to gather up some moisture content in the atmosphere which is going to mean that we will end up with a heavy rain out of any storms that do pop but there is at least some good news, a light at the end of the tunnel in the fact that i don't think necessarily philadelphia or points south and east end up with the worst of it. you have to go to the northwestern counties for that to be the case. we will walk you through everything. starting off with a pleasant view here in atlantic city. if you want a spot to stay dry for the better part of the day, head to the shore, it looks like you'll get a decent day in here, just keeping in mind if you hit the the beaches thaw make sure you hear thunder, you will head inside. you'll have a nice window to

enjoy some sun, eventually clouds will build. lets go next to storm scan three. not a lot going on locally but off to the northwest we have some showers and embedded thunderstorms. if you look closely a few lightening strikes have popped with those storms. future weather overall showing it pretty well as early as lunch hour we may start to see these pop up showers. if not a thunderstorm here and there. bulk of the moisture starts to move in towards evening. notice bol bulk of that activity is off to the west. we may get nothing more than a glancing blow from this front. this morning feels pretty sticky. it will feel more and mow oppressive as time goes on with the advance of that next front. so, again, a sticky day, starting off on a mild note, already, 73 at the airport. once we see these cloud build though it does limit the the amount of heating that will continue. we do expect mid 80's, seasonal, in terms of temperature but it is sticky,

line avenue off to the west there but no problems or delays in or out of the city at the moment, roads are dry and we are off to a good start on the schuylkill. however, just above trenton, route 33 at i295 a down pole and wires. construction delays out south on 295 between 168 and route 42 freeway. keep in mind that ramp to the whitman is closed so you have to go down to route 47, delsea drive, flip it around, come back in order to gain access. overnight work still out on the northeast extension, near lansdale interchange and we are in good shape on 202 out of west chester. in problems on 422 out of royersford and mass transit looking good, erika, back over to you. happening today a preliminary hearing for a man accused of murder during a bar brawl. amir miller shot and killed a man outside a north philadelphia bar. it allegedly happened last in month on the 2,000 block of dennie street in nicetown.

that hooting was part of the violent weekend in philadelphia during which two other men were shot and thin killed. rodolph churchville will be in court, the 51 year-old is accused of murdering two women in philadelphia in 1989. authorities say dna testing helped them solve the cold cases nearly 25 years after the murders. both of the victims had been strangled. pension reform is on the agenda at this morning's town hall meeting with new jersey governor chris christie. he is meeting with residents the atlantic avenue school in haddon heights at 11:30. governor has come under fire in his decision to cut the decision to cut fund in the pension fund. unions oppose the plan and filed suit. is there a hearing in that case in trenton this morning. we're also learning governor christie could have a new you bridge problem on his hand, sources say there is an investigation into the the port authority paying for $2 billion in repairs to the bridge near newark. governor christie is already under fire for that lane closure, of course, scandal on

two sisters are killed when a tree felon their moving car. here's what was left of that car after the freak accident outside johnstown. the car was driving down the road when the tree came crashing down. it killed the sisters age six and eight. they were sitting in the back seat. >> in my 23 years i have never had this here, this magnitude of this accident, with children involve like that there. >> to have two young children in the same family, it has to be horrendous on the parents, i cannot even imagine. >> two other children in the back seat were also hurt with the pregnant woman. investigators found the tree was rotted at the base. ukee. strong storms packed a mighty punch in the midwest, tornado pick up rv and tossed it in the neighboring home. cbs news correspondent marley hall tells you it is just one of many spots where people are cleaning up, after a battle with wicked weather.

>> storm chasers captured a tornado touching down in plainfield, indiana on tuesday, it tossed an rv into this home. in one was hurt. people there are just starting to clean up. >> i realize everybody is okay and everything and now we have to just get repaired. >> reporter: near kentwood louisiana a powerful storm packing high wind, rain snapped a tree and sent it crashing into a home. >> actually, the tree got hit by lightening and fell and the whole house started to shake that i could not stand up. >> reporter: in minnesota mud invaded dining room in this home after massive flooding in the area. carlson's are okay but just can't move the mud. >> anything that jars it a little bit would be enough for those raft tours break and everything to go down. >> reporter: heavy rains caused flash flooding in parts of the fort worth texas tuesday afternoon, but the high water rose to several feet flooding streets and stalling motorist.

no rest for people in that part of the lone star state, more isolated thunderstorms are expect tonight. marley hall for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". lets talk about the weather on our end, here's katie. >> it doesn't look like it will be that kind of severe weather threat we have seen across the central united states but we will be dealing with heavy thunderstorms out of this storm system that is a cold front that is dragged through our area. so even for now although humidity is ram pink up, we're still dry and you'll get part of the day in without a hitch. in wet weather issues. lets start off as we do at this time with the quick check of the pollen report and these levels, they are still really low. we have basically surpassed the time of the year where pollen levels just start spiking. allergy should in the bother all that much but grass is an issue if you mow the lawn real quickly here before the storms get here think about just taking precaution when you walk on the out the door. looking at storm scan three

a compromise in neshaminy high school, editorial board wants to ban using the school's mascot redskins in the stories. but the school argued it was not fair to students who have a different opinion regarding the label. the the new policy recommended last night says the school newspaper staff can keep the word out of news stories but cannot he had it the word out of editorials. school board will vote on the plan tomorrow night. protesting against layoffs, parents, students rally with aid begins the plan to layoff more than 200 teachers in the camden school district. they say it could negatively impact the students and they hope the district reconsiders. last night's protest came during the board of education meeting at pine point middle

school. the district is facing a 75 million-dollar public short fall. defrock pastor from lebanon county will preach again after winning an appeal of his punishment. reverend frank schaefer celebrated at first united methodist church in germantown yesterday afternoon. schaefer was stripped of his title after he officiated his son's gay wedding. the church suspended him for 30 days and then defrocked him after he would not vow to stop officiating same sex weddings. >> i'm glad that i am back but i will continue and i have vowed that in my trial, i will continue to be an advocate for the lgbt community in our church. >> the committee's decision could ab peeled to the judicial council, the the church's highest court. well, looking at 5:20 in the morning. we have seen a lot of dumb criminals but this guy may take the cake. find out how he was busted by facebook. >> thinks hard to believe but true though. a world cup win marred by biting controversysy, punishment
