new at 6:00 a bill to legalize medical marijuana in pennsylvania is taking a step forward. senate law and justice committee voted to make it legal for, seriously ill patient toss use marijuana to recommendations with their doctors. this is first time such legislation was considered in the state. bill now heads to the senate appropriations committee. new jersey is closer to snuffing out smoking in parks

and beaches. new jersey lawmakers passed a bill to limit smoking at most public beaches. they can set aside a small area for smokers, it outlaws smoking at state county and municipal parks. governor christie has not said when will sign that bill. a new attraction is drawing a large crowd on penns landing, the spruce street harbor park opened to the public today at 401, south boulevard. matt river is there live tonight and matt if you want to see this park you better move fast crowds are any indication organizers of this pop up park are going to be very happy. and gardens, got it. boardwalk, botchi ball and 15 multi colors hammocks a sure thing. all came out of no where. that is the idea. >> we're real exited to open

spruce street harbor park. >> jody works for delaware river park corporation or drwc, semi private agency that created the pop up park. it is temporary built over the last few months, designed to last through the the summer. officials say it is a river a destination. >> we have these on the weekend and nights but this park is seven days a week. >> organizers hope this park helps generate greater public interest and developing more of the waterfront as a whole, a task that historically has proven difficult. drwc master plan calls for a public space along the river every half mile or so, making that a reality will require significant funding and political support, hence need for public interest. >> we see this parkas a chance to kind of change the conversation about what people, think about their waterfront. >> so what does the the public
