last night's storms. crews are going back in the river this morning to find them. we are live with the search effort. a lot of activity on storm scan three, we have our eye on hurricane arthur's path. that is right hurricane arthur. also some rain heading our way. lets check with traffic and weather together and start with katie, good morning. >> good morning, that is right, in the last half an hour that storm has been upgraded, it is a category one, making a beeline, to the carolinas. expect to have a impact on us and more direct impact on the delaware valley. we will talk about that and we will have your full forecast, it does get better with time. we have something to look forward to, bob, over to you. 5:30 on this thursday morning and we are dealing with the problem on 476. here's a live look at southbound lanes of the the blue route where vehicle fire tying us up for last half an hour or so. it looks like far right lane is squeezing through but if you are heading south toward the airport you better get a move on. we are stack up for over an

hour. i'll show you how to get around it coming up next. good morning, bob. search is resuming for missing man whose sail boat capsized in the delaware river. >> he was one of five people aboard when he hit the area. "eyewitness news" reporter jen bernstein joins us live, good morning. >> good morning. >> reporter: search is expected to resume this morning and it is finally light out which will help rescuers as they look here at the delaware whichever which you can see is calm this morning. the there is a light win. there is still no sign of this missing 66 year-old we're told from bucks county. last night friend told us off camera he is a strong swimmer and they are hoping he is still alive out here somewhere. he was last seen at 8:00 p.m. last night in the delaware river holding on to a cooler as a floattation device. search crews used chopper and tracking devices to look for him. he had only 45 minutes of daylight before it got dark. police say five people were on board a 24-foot sail both bet

when a storm moved in. the group dropped their sales ape used a met or to head back to the yacht club but sudden thunderstorm caused the sail boat to capsize. four of the five swam back to the river banks but the 66 year-old wasn't with them. >> they said that he is an experienced, boater, and specifically sail boats, he does know how to swim, he doesn't have have any health problems and in good shape for his age. so we're hoping we will find him and able to rescue him. >> reporter: source tells us that the chopper may have locate that had sail both in the water here last night but it was too dark and dangerous to send that boat back out. the rescuers are expect to come back out here once the sunrisees as they look for this missing 66 year-old man. that is very latest from the northeast, jen bernstein cbs-3 "eyewitness news". more than 10,000 lightening strikes lit up the sky during last night's storms. we are waiting to hear if one

of them sparked a house fire in montgomery county. cell phone video shows smoke and flames pouring from raven hallow drive-in montgomery township. fire completely destroyed the whole second floor. fortunately the home owner and her dog got out safely. lightening may have cause an apartment fire in voorhees, new jersey. fire fighters were called out to the club at main street just before 10:00 o'clock last night. the residents from 17 units in the complex were displaced. in serious injuries were reported but one fire fighter was taken to the hospital for evaluation. 5:33. lets get our traffic and weather together on the three's, here's katie. >> this remains a very active pattern. yesterday was about the heat and thunderstorm. today it is almost the same story but storms trumped the heat today. it will still be hot and we are still tracking is what now hurricane arthur, a category one storm. thankfully more indirect impact on us here in the local area. lets start off by taking you out to the shore, hot bed of

and not ideal really anywhere but not as bad in some spots like the poconos or lehigh valley. regardless a haze over us here today. still enough sunshine to heat it up to 90 degrees and we are in the mid to lower 80's down the shore and poconos. everybody can once again bank on more showers and more potential for severe thunderstorms later on today, bob, over to you. 5:35 on this thursday morning but for a lot of us it is a friday morning as we get ready for that holiday weekend. we will see unusual traffic patterns. one unusual pattern is all brake lights as we are jammo on the blue route, 476, a live look southbound lanes right here near exit number three which is media swarthmore. earlier accident and vehicle fire, here's car that was involved. he is facing opposite direction here. with all of the fire fighting equipment on the scene only the far right lane is getting on through. here's on ramp for media swarthmore to give you an idea here. we are bumper to bumper for well over a mile all coming

southbound. as we go to the maps as we step out front door from say saint david, villanova heading south the trying to get down towards the airport your best bet using route 320 or 252 instead of the blue route to get all those lanes reopened. using mass trans to it day and throughout the weekend, today everybody operating on a normal schedule. tomorrow will be a holiday schedule saturday and sun take working on a weekend schedule and mass transit running with no delays, erika, back to you. that big food truck blast caught on camera in feltonville apparently started with a leak in the propane tank. force of tuesday's blast injured 13 people and ignited a fireball near third and wyoming. philadelphia police say there were two, 100-pound propane tanks in the truck. a leak in one of them ignited the grill. >> i have never seen anything like tonight my life. the truck was still on fire. there was people using fire extinguishers on several fires. >> five people are in critical

like this, other hand is grabbing the camera and i said to myself, dale, just do what you can, keep yourself safe but if you can save that cameras save that camera. >> they are so expensive. now whales were feeding on fish at the time and capsized the boat. blue whales are sometimes 98 feet long and 190 tons. >> my gosh. >> that boat had no chance. >> right now just past 5:43. how about that, katie. >> they will need a much big are boat for something like that, my gosh. all right. let talk tropics here, as we are now dealing with the hurricane, category one hurricane in arthur and it continues to make its slow progress north here, toward the carolinas coastline. numerous warnings in effect here, we have got tropical storm warnings in effect, hurricane warnings right to the eastern coastal communities and barrier island here of north carolina but

hurricane watches in effect as pink shaded areas if you look really closely just behind that tropical storm warning but bottom line here is that tropical impacts to those shorelines but for us it is more indirect impact. we are dealing with certainly stormy wet's long the way here for today but that is not necessarily because of the arthur but it is an incorrect impact. we are drawing on quite/a bit of the tropical moisture. we had very heavy thunderstorms that rumbled through last night. but you can see the progress of the clouds and wet weather moving from south to north. that is where our moisture source is coming from. we have a tropical system off to the south. that is why these downpours will be really heavy and bringing us potential for flash flooding. we have flash flood watches going in to effect across the board at 8:00 a.m. and we are still, believe it or not in a severe weather threat zone for strong to severe weather that could fire up, much later today. eventually friday will clear out as arthur passes you by off shower and saturday look good. it gets better with time.

shop rifting and traffic violations. prosecutors are expected to layout new details against the georgia father whose son died in the sweltering suv. justin harris will be in court this afternoon to ask the judge for bail. harris says he accidentally left his 22 month-old strapped into his car seat when he was supposed to drop the young boy off at day care. sergeant bowe bergdahl is now allowed off the texas military base where he is receiving care. it is part of his reintegration process into society after five years as a taliban prisoner in afghanistan. the army says sergeant bergdahl is going to a grocery store, restaurants and a library as part of the process of getting comfortable were being out in the public. concerns about new terrorist threats to build bombs that can go undetect through airport security is now prompting the u.s. government to call for tighter security measures at some foreign airports. co im reports from newark, international.

our area and katie has details in your full forecast, next. arthur has been upgraded to hurricane status, mandatory evacuation order is in effect along north carolina's outer banks, as or the or twirls nearby. >> let get the latest on arthur and our forecast, good morning. >> we are more than anything looking at indirect impacts from arthur but that storm system is helping to fuel heavy thunderstorms. looking closely you can see that our flow comes in from the south. where arthur is situated right now. so that tropical moisture source is fueling the storms that were eventually going to be seeing later in the day. we have had storms overnight. we will see another round firing up later today and we will in seen our cold front cross. those storms could easily be locally strong or severe, as the the daze goes on. is there arthur off to the south churning away. still expect to bypass, thank goodness. fourth of july is looking cooler as our cold front crosses but there will be lingering rain, bob, over to you.

we have breaking news right now a fire in pennsauken, camden county. this fire broke out around 4:30 in the three story home on the 2200 block of 39th street. there are reports that fire fighters were forced from the home by dangerous conditions, and had to continue battling that flame, from outside. no word if the fire is under control right now, we will keep you up to date as we learn more about this breaking news we will be right back.

arthur to stay out to sea, but we can start off here with the localized zoom or a localized shot of our campbell's field camera looking over the ben franklin bridge. you can see higher clouds out there a little bit of sunshine and much like yesterday we will start off with some sun, eventually to have deal with more thunderstorms which could prove locally strong or severe much like yesterday. lets go to storm can three down to carolinas where arthur continues to churn. this is now a category one hurricane and it will be heading northbound but eventually it will get swept out to sea as our next cold front helps that along. we will get hit with heavy rain. you can see thunderstorms firing up here, back through chester and montgomery counties at the moment. you may be running into wet wet they are morning but there is generally a lull that takes place for now and then eventually more widespread showers and storms will erupt. flash flood watches also take effect at
