4:45 am
better, but could also and lot worse. gradually conditions do get so much nicer for us by the weekends, today still dodging additional rain. see how it is fired one heavier rain back to the northern and western suburbs over the next hour or so. arthur churning away off to the south here. and it is fueling some of the heavier rainfall, because a lot of tropical moisture being fed in here again. this storm is still expected to stay out to sea it, will not directly impact us, but the winds will kick in, although it won't necessarily be a tropical storm strength necessarily, but we will also still of course have to deal with stronger surf, rip currents, things like. that will meanwhile, once this whole mess gets out of here for lack of better phrase, which happens later today, we set up for beautiful wet they are weaken. so high pressure takes the lead. still probably little breezy tomorrowment we will get the sunshine, keep it on sunday, then the high will anchor itself off to the southeast, which means we will get chance to see the return flow of some warm air, we heat back up next week, so, 70s in the meantime, little cooler in the poconos,
4:46 am
today we expect to hit high of about 82, little cooler than average by 5 degrees, and lingering rain still with us specially in the morning. later tonight though skies should clear across the board it, will stay breezy, generally with sustained winds flow of ten to 15 miles per hour, but could still be higher gusts, we look forward in the forecast; this not gorgeous? something to look forward to. both weekend days still hot, steamy monday, but generally looks like it should and dry day, although it will feel kind of muggy to you, by tuesday next shot for more widespread showers and storms will make a return appearance. ukee, back to you. >> in sports, phillies road trip rolls on, tonight phils and pirates at pnc park in pittsburgh, phillies use ninth inning rally to beat the marlins in florida last night. jimmy rollins grounder leads to play at the plate, tony gywnn junior scores to tie the ballgame at four. next batter chase utley grounder is bobbled, ben riff ear would score the lead run. jonathan papelbon nails down

4:55 am
factors that play into our weather forecast here today. meantime, what's that really mean for us? while this storm is not expected to hit us directly, we still have flashflood potential with additional tropical moisture producing showers, thunderstorms, very gusty winds expected at the coast, rough surf, dangerous rip currents, as well, and we are at a high risk today, which i don't think we've seen yet this summer for rip currents. so you have to pay attention to the lifeguards, and heed their advice. only into the low 80s today because of the clouds, because of the rain, and certainly, because we've got cold front, it will actually live to up its name for a change, but already clearing out, high pressure taking the lead back again for tomorrow, sunday, and leading into monday. so that means it will heat right back up. tuesday i think you can expect another steamy day, next shot for showers, storms, as new trough begins to dig in. ukee, back to you. >> katie, thank you. here is a look at stories our sister station "kyw news radio" 1060 will be following for you on this fourth of july. mother nature forces traditional holiday concert
