also in the news, frightening moments for a 13 year old south jersey girl. she is hit by stray bullet while sleeping in her bed. we get you right out to "eyewitness news" syma chowdhry in winslow township. she at the scene where police are still gathering evidence. syma, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, ukee, police tell us they believe the shooting happened right behind me, on haywood lane. here on the corner of hathaway drive. now they say stray bullets flew, one of them hitting this house right here on the corner, injuring a 13 year old girl, who was in her bed sleeping. and couple of other bullets also flew across the street, hitting a car, and a home, luckily, not injuring anyone there. >> they new it wasn't fireworks, they heard the sounds after gun going off several times. >> now all the sudden i heard two shots. then i heard like seven more. and i just called the cops.

>> winslow township police arrived to a home on the corner of hathaway drive and haywood lane. they found the 13 year old girl shot in the back side. she was in her room, sleeping, when a stray bullet went through the wall and hit her. the girl was taken to cooper hospital with non-life threatening injuries. another home across the street was also hit with a stray bullet but no one was hurt. neighbors tell us, something like this has never happened here before. >> dangerous, living in our environment, our community, just don't make no sense. it has to stop. >> again police on the scene investigating as well as camden county prosecutor's offers. now, again, a 13 year old girl was hit by a stray bullet. i spoke with her sister via twitter, and she told me that her sister's going to be okay, in fact, she was awake anal letter when taken to the hospital.

so yes, the temperatures are very likely going to be differently in the 90s today, tomorrow, may be close call on wednesday, but regardless it is going to be hot outside. we start it off by taking you out to live neighborhood network outside beach patrol headquarters, cloudy at the moment, i have it on good authority the clouds will be continuing as they continue to do so over the city of philadelphia right now, actually just outside of the margate area, we are actually starting to see those clouds break for some sun as i look off camera to one of the atlantic city cameras, looking ahead to pretty nice, storm scan3, empty at the moment, see speckles of green, ground clutter, no rain in the forecast for us here today from sill -- philly on southeast, stormy weather back through the great lakes. some of which may survive through i would say specially northwest suburbs maybe down in toward the berks county later tonight. right now, it is mild. off to nice warm start. >> i don't think air qualities issues will be a concern, such breeze going right now. that will help limit the

>> fireworks store in tennessee caught fire. >> oh, my god. feel the heat. >> wow, you can hear the shells just exploding in the background there. at one point, some of the fireworks even shot to nearby highway and sparked smaller fires in some grass outside the store. now it, took firefighters several hours to put owes those flames. the store as you can imagine a total lost. >> look what fireworks did

let's look at 95, 95 southbound approach the area of girard, really already seeing everyone head back to work this morning, approaching girard from the vine st. expressway, so lots of headlights in this direction, give yourself some more time there, good news is earlier disable vehicle southbound at cottman is on the shoulder, and is in the process every being cleared out of the way. northbound 95 moving well overall. as we head now to the platt bridge, the platt is also looking great. whether you are coming to or from the area of 26 and pen road headed down, great ride, 95 also looking great in this area, maybe you're headed back from the shore back to work into philadelphia. or back to work anywhere really. forty-two, 55, 295, all in the clear, atlantic city expressway, garden state parkway, really not seeing any major problems this morning. however, we are seeing a major problem on the northbound side of pa turnpike northeast extension, approaching lansdale, all lanes are blocked, but they are allowing folks to exit and then re-enter at the valley forge interchange, you can also always take 309, in major

almost 20 degrees, and in a 24 hour stretch of time. as we go forward in the forecast, though, there you have t there is your heatwave. monday, tuesday, 09 or greater for three days straight or more, that is by definition qualification enough for a heatwave. we can expect that sun around here today. but by tomorrow, showers, thunderstorms likely make a return appearance, to the forecast, victoria, over to you. >> thank you so much, katie. good morning, everyone, unfortunately dealing with very serious incident traveling northbound side of the northeast extension, liver chopper three hd over the scene of this incident, now it has been developing for quite some time. we have disable tractor-trailer, and notice the crush of the vehicle, there are no injuries, that we've gotten worth of just yet watch you are looking at here, is the just sandwiched between the on and off-ramps of the northbound side of the text end sean, right at lansdale, so, here is the onramp to the extension here, or excuse me, the exit jut behind the onramp extension here, so dealing with this accident blocking all lanes, in this lane, we do have few vehicles on scene, in regard to emergency teams, but they have been working on this

and cancelling fourth every july celebrations, so far 30% that far fire is contained, we understand, three firefighters suffered minor injuries, while battling that blaze. >> well, the future ladies and gentlemen of three airplanes are still in a montana river this morning, train caring the airplane parts went off the tracks on thursday, sending them into the water. the crash damaged the jetliner fuselage and other parts on the train, train was headed to boeing factory in washington state. the plane's may not be taken out that far water until sometime tomorrow. close call in nevada. >> celebration there is could have taken turn for the worse after wind gust blew up a giant inflatable slide. we've seen this before, take a look, it went flying in the sky moments after passing safety inspection. luckily no children were on it at the time. three adults were injured when that slide took off. >> we had couple of minor injuries from patrons standing

"eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is live outside the home in winslow township, camden count which more on that investigation. syma, good morning. >> goods morning, nicole. police say the shooting happened right behind me here, on haywood lane, when stray bullets, one of them hitting this house here, on the corner of haywood, and hathaway drive. >> around hathaway, haywood lane, neighbors tell us they heard gunshot but didn't see anyone. thirteen year old girl was sleeping while hit when she was sleeping, rather. she is in -- the stray bullets traveled -- (no audio). >> i didn't even notice out here, so it is crazy, like.

it shouldn't be like this. we apologize for the technical difficulty. we'll get back to syma very, very shortly. right now, our traffic and weather together. katy? >> yes, good morning, ukee, good morning, everybody, we continue to see nice summer day unfold at this point. we can expect more sunshine, high pressure still generally on our side, few more clouds out there this morning, definately nice mild morning for most of us as well. we take this live look here, three hour loop rather of storm scan3, and there is not too much, thin vale of cloud cover at the moment, but the sun really doing its part to sort of peak through the cloud cover, and eventually it will win out, end up with what we can call either partly or mostly sunny day most locations, but as we take this wider zoom, there is some stormy weather obviously through the great lake region, some will likely survive over the north and pennsylvania mountains, and may survive

over portions of the poconos then as well. specially by later on tonight. i think the rest of the region can just sit back, enjoy what looks like pretty quiet day. 74 degrees the current temperature at the airport as well as millville, wilmington, the list goes on, low and mid 70s, mount pocono, once again, the odd balance out, as it tends to be cooler up in the higher terrain. your monday as a region, looking pretty warm overall. up in the poconos where you want to go looking for the coolest spot of the pack here. but even the shore should hit lower 90s today, more than anything a result of where our winds is coming f because it is not coming in, from the open ocean water from the south, shooting for the low 90s here, again, generally with some sunshine, so don't let the fact that we have got some cloud cover out there throw you off eventually we will start to brighten up little bit more. >> things not too bright

bright, on 95, however, if you are traveling on the northeast ex it n sean, my chopper three hd, scene of northbound accident, at lansdale, now, as you will notice, vehicle is literally crushed under the front tires of that tractor-trailer, this accident is right sandwich between the onramp and the off ramp for the northeast extention northbound at lansdale. >> folks can exit at this point, then re-enter at the valley forge interchange. so, that is the glimmer every hope that we are experiencing at this time. that you can actually exit and then re-enter, almost, in the same spot. not causing too much after southbound delay, and that's the good news there, we will continue to keep you updated on there is but i think really just taking their time with that accident as well as they were doing an investigation. as we continue though, going to head now to the ben franklin bridge, where it is real a beautiful shot. making your commute from that holiday weekends, back to work into philadelphia, the ben, the walt, the tack, the betsy,

all really great options. now, northbound on 55, we are experiencing bit of slow down there, again, i think that's some of those vacation nerves headed back to town. northbound 55 approaching the 42, you will find a bit of slow down. once you get to the 42, you start to open up. then 295 looks pretty good. mass transit also no major problems. >> tragedy in southern california when lifeguard drowns trying to save a swimmer. thirty-two year old lifeguard rushed in to help a swimmer in newport beach when 10-foot wave knocked him underwater. took about an hour and a half for other lifeguards to find his body. the swimmer did make it to shore safely. well, swimmer in california lives to see another day after coming face-to-face with a great white shark. the 50 year old is recovering, after being attack over the weaken. cbs correspondent with the incredible story of survival. >> and i am looking at this shark eye to eye. just right here.

and at that very moment fighting for my life. >> thought great white was the last thing he would see. >> i had no time to react. >> he screamed for help during his weekly saturday morning swim near california's manhattan beach. a shark had sung its teeth into his right side. >> just instinctively i used my right hands to grab its nose and just tried to yank it off of me. >> people warned others in the water. >> hey, get out of the water, shark. >> i looked at steve and i thought well maybe he had a heart attack. and then i looked un the water and i saw the bleeding of his wounds. and i thought, well, are we next? >> witnesses say the 7-foot juvenile shark has been caught on fisherman's hook for 40 minutes before it attacked. >> and by the time he cut that line loose, i was in the wrong spot at the wrong time. >> fellow swimmers and paddle boarders carried him to land.

sunday night were big, the crowd during the day equally assumes press i have. late afternoon sunshine crowded over a boardwalk. >> i was surprise today see a lot of people out here. >> many of whom say they came just for the fireworks after weekend that was bit after wash out. >> that's why we came over here with the whole family, to try to have a nice time, make for all of that time that we had rain. >> the men del's came down from boston, after wet weekends in new england. >> probably one of the worse fourth of july's in a long time weather wise. >> while they felt for those who missed out on a show on friday, they're feeling lung i they get to catch a glimpse. >> at>> you're reaping the benefits? >> we just pull in, find out the fireworks, awesome. >> if you thought that the fireworks being postponed until sunday night would make business owners unhappy, you would be mistaken. in fact, many we talk to say friday's choppy ocean water actually helped boost their sales on a night typically would see far less crowds.
