storm, katie? erika, we are still dealing with the very sluggish cold front that does not want to completely clear out of here, additional showers and thunderstorms to track here but not quite as steamy of a forecast, we will have details coming up, torey? the rush is definitely not heating up, just yet, look the at the schuylkill around 202, we're just waiting for that rush to come in when sun comes up but still waiting. lets head back to the desk. well, developing right now a teenager is hospitalized following a shooting in the philadelphia's frankford neighborhood. >> moments later another man is shot and critically wound aid few blocks away. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us a the the northeast detectives with more on the investigation, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning ukee and erika. both victims have been hospitalized the first is in stable condition, the second is in critical condition and police are investigating if the two separate crimes are, in fact, connected. >> reporter: in northeast philadelphia police are

investigating two separate shootings two blocks and ten minutes apart. >> we're not sure if they are isolated incident or if they are related but we know each of these victims was shot at separate locations. >> reporter: first happened just after midnight near darrah and philmore street when office's arrived they found 15 spent shell casing from two different guns but no victim. >> immediately thereafter they learned that a 22-year old male victim who was shot at this intersection ran after being shot to aria frankford hospital. >> reporter: while on the scene, officers heard multiple gunshots coming from the 4600 block of frankford avenue. >> they found a 20 year-old male victim suffering from two gunshot wounds to his groin. >> reporter: he was taken to aria torresdale hospital in critical condition but is expect to survive. in addition to the victim three unattended vehicles were struck by gunfire. >> intersection of darrah and philmore streets is mainly a

residential neighborhood with row homes at all four corners, so, we're lucky stray bullets didn't pass through any of the windows of these houses. >> reporter: thank goodness no innocent people were hurt. as for suspects, three men were last seen running east on the 1600 block of philmore before getting in the black vehicle. that is very latest live outside northeast detectives, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". also police responding to a barricade situation in germantown, discover a with man tied up and sexually assaulted. swat team was called to the 100 block of west queen lane around 6:00 last night. police say a 27 year-old woman was trying to end a romantic relationship with the 40 year-old suspect when she was attacked. that man was arrested. this morning crews continue to restore power to nearly 6700 homes and businesses still in the dark from tuesday's storms. main line residents were among the hardest hit. large trees and power lines

were littered across the streets in some neighborhoods. officials say that some homes in wayne could be without power for another night and these are rough nights to be without your ac. 5:03. lets get traffic and weather together, with katie. >> we have seen these thermometer readings dropping off readily here but it is not necessarily true for the main line but it is starting to get a little bit more comfortable for us out there. we don't have have to deal with at least steaminess of what we have had in terms of humidity that makes it so much worse, right? we will go outside and start off here with the quick check of storm scan three, at the local zoom, there is not too much going on, but out to sea and off to the south across southwestern most delimar virginia we have had a few showers firing up here. there is a distinct back edge to the frontal boundary we have been tracking now and it is a slow front for one thing but now it is starting to stall nearby. so, it is kind of one of those half and half forecast is where some of the region ends

up with really nice heather today and others, not so much. it is that classic summer-like forecast where we will get some sun and we have to dodge a shower or thunderstorm throughout the day. it is 69 degrees, at the moment at whitefield elementary school. that sun will be coming up in about a half an hour here, a very light wind. more westerly right now, which definitely tells us the story as wind starts to shift more it is not quite as humid but it is also not quite as hot, our high should hit about 86 which is far more seasonal then those 90's we have experienced earlier this week but expect some sun and a few clouds abe expect a shower or storm. we have a whole variety packing on here today but shouldn't be anything severe but just something you hear thunder, head back inside. typical pop up type stuff. >> sound like a mixed bag. >> exactly. >> good morning. i really don't have too much mixed bag on the roadway because everything is calm, and serene, hopefully that last as long as possible. the as we take a look at the

schuylkill expressway around the the area of 202, notice heading to and from the king of prussia area we have no major delays. barely any vehicles out there. great way to start your morning. as we continue to look at i-95 right around broad street rather, if you are traveling north bound or southbound you are free and clear around broad and not only here but looks great for philadelphia international airport if you have an early flight. delaware county is just fine and traveling in and out of northeast philadelphia and center city philadelphia speed sensors are up in the 50's and looking great. fifty is your average on the schuylkill as well and 55 on 476, no major problems around mid county toll plaza so you are in the clear from the northeast extension, pennsylvania turnpike, 202, 422, so on and so forth. we have water main breaks closing knight road at houston road, spring garden street is your best alternate. red ambler drive closed at wisteria lane. spring mill road is your best alternate here. a nine two-year old woman

thieves broke in possibly through a back window and when interrupted they ran away. >> these are individuals in the community should be very upset with and we need to get them off the street because this could be anyone's mother or grandmother. >> reporter: washington a retired teacher is recovering from scratches and bruises but she said don't feel bad for her but pity her attackers now wanted for serious offenses after getting a way with only her diamond ring. >> more so than mine because mine will heel up, and i will probably get another ring. >> reporter: it turns out the suspects took off with a suitcase and tv as well but police say they dropped those items while running away. the suspect description is vague, they are described as two black maleness their late teens so anyone with any information is asked to call the police. reporting from southwest detectives, i'm elizabeth hur, for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". happening today, the prime suspect in the murder of a

retired villanova professor is expect in court. pretrial conference has been scheduled for jose diaz, diaz was arrested in connection with the death of carol arm brewster. she was found stabbed in her apartment last december. she had been retired since 2011. also on the dock it this morning, a preliminary hearing for this man, accused of sexually assaulting a woman in philadelphia milton garcia was arrested last month. police say he followed a woman back to her apartment in the rittenhouse square section of the city. he then assaulted her and stole several items before leaving. he faces several charges, including rape. and a court case stemming from an allege drug distribute network also moves forward today. preliminary hearing is scheduled for timothy brooks. police say he and neil scott distributed drugs to high schools and colleges throughout the main line. it is believed they also recruited others to do their business. a total of 11 people were arrested in that

investigation. coming up at 5:09. we now know how this inferno started. fire engulfs a million-dollar mansion in wayne, delaware county. fire fighters were first called to the burning house on wyndham laid yesterday afternoon. chopper three was over the scene as giant flames leaped from that estate. the home owner, a car enthusiast, was working on a monster truck in the garage when that fire started. it then grew out of control almost instantly. >> he was working on his truck and it blew blew up, once he was working on it and engulf the garage and then the whole house started smoking. >> reporter: authorities tell us that the home owner suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital, a fire fighter was overcome by heat exhaustion and treated at the scene. still ahead this morning the tsa just announced some new security measures this week and now those rules are expanding too. we will tell you what this means for travelers coming up. tense moment in a texas neighborhood when swat teams move in and tell people to get out of their homes.

good morning, everyone and developing right now israel continues to carry out air strikes in the gaza strip, even as other countries, including the u.s. push for peace. israeli military says that it is targeting hamas militants in response to weeks of rocket launches. egyptian officials have reportedly spoken to both sides. u.s. secretary of state john kerry has been communicating with israel.

thunderstorm, on sunday is marking the arrival of the next series of front. vittoria, over to you. good morning, everyone. as of right now the roads are nice and clear. we have police activity that is popping up, we will get to that in a second. lets look at camera shots 422, not too far from 202 approaching 23. both sides look great. we are not seeing heavy eastbound delay just yet but trust me we are waiting on it. as soon as that sun comes up, the rush comes in. 202, it is also moving well right around 29, 401, even as you make your way approaching the pennsylvania turnpike. all majors are moving well, speed sensors high up in the 50's. fifty-five on i-95, 55 on 476 and 50 on the schuylkill expressway and basically there is a lot of green on this map which looks like a whole lot of good. this just popped up in our system, passyunk avenue around 28th street there is police activity and they are expecting to close the bridge there due to an investigation. we're not sure how long this will be out there but may set you back this morning.
