lower your blood sugar with invokana®. imagine loving your numbers. ask your doctor about invokana®. breaking news out of of southwest philadelphia, police are investigating a drive by shooting on west passyunk avenue. this is a live picture from the scene. reports say someone fired a number of shots from a car. luckily in one was hurt but passyunk avenue bridge is shut down right now for the investigation. officers say they did find several shell casings in that area we will bring you updates as they become available to the news room. also, a crocodile attack all caught on cameras the 12-foot beast grabbed handler in the water but he survived. how he got away, coming up.

but first lets start with traffic and weather together with katie and torey, good morning, ladies. >> good morning, everybody. we are still dealing with the sluggish frontal boundary and it will keep things active in our atmosphere, especially today but for next two days there may be wet weather to dodge. we will talk about that. we will talk about a cooler air mass trying to settle n full details straight ahead, vittoria. traffic wise, things look great, very quiet outside, we don't have to worry about too many delays. ben franklin bridge a beautiful shot heading in to new jersey or philadelphia will not be a problem but you know how it is, when sun comes up, rush starts to come in and we will talk about how slow we will get in i will say a half an hour or so, erika. a teenage boy and a man are shot within minutes of each other in the same northeast philadelphia neighborhood. >> police are working to see if the two cases are connect. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us from northeast detectives with more on this investigation, nicole.

>> reporter: philly police were on patrol after midnight when they heard first of the two shootings, two blocks and ten minutes apart. lets set the the scene for you at least with that first shooting there. it happened near darrah and philmore streets in northeast philadelphia where they found 15 spent shell casings from two separate guns but no victim. they have learn a 22-year old male was shot once in the thigh and had run from the scene from aria frankford hospital where he is in stable condition. minutes later those same officers were within ear shot of multiple gunshots coming from the 4600 block of frankford avenue. only a couple blocks away. there they found a 20 year-old male victim with two gunshot wound to the groin. he was taken to aria torresdale hospital in critical condition but is expect to survive. also, on the scene, three shot up vehicles parked uncomfortably close to peoples home, take a listen. >> the the intersection of darrah and philmore streets is mainly residential

neighborhood with row homes at all four corners. so, we're lucky, stray bullets didn't pass through any of the windows of these houses. we're lucky on a warm night although it was after midnight, we're lucky no innocent victims were struck by stray bullets. >> reporter: that is the good news in all of this. this morning police hope private surveillance video they were able to obtain as well as some information from witnesses will help track down those three male suspects last seen running east on philmore streets and getting in the black vehicle. live outside northeast detectives, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". 5:33. here's traffic and weather together, kate. >> good morning, everybody. our latest frontal boundary is still very slow to retreat, it is one of those unwanted house guests that stays too late and does president completely clear out the when you want it to. we will be stuck with cloud

shore where we're still generally speaking in the lower 70's at this hour. moving forward, we have got a pretty good shot to hit 86 degrees. pretty seasonal. not as steamy as it has been but we have to deal with a couple showers or storms, vittoria, over to you. good morning, everyone. we have an update on the closure in south philadelphia associated with that police investigation but as we look at our majors not too much to talk about at all, this time here is roosevelt boulevard north and southbound commuting around broad street, we are not seeing that southbound delay just yet heading down towards the schuylkill expressway. we are still in the clear in regards to the boulevard, traveling on the vine street expressway, making your way on i-95 around philadelphia international airport, airport is looking good if you have any flights this morning. just call your carrier ahead have of time, just in case but we are in the getting any awful news and hopefully it stays that way until weather changes later today. when we get there we will talk about that. in the meantime this monk

morning passyunk avenue is closed at 28th street. platt bridge is your best alternate. passyunk avenue bridge because of the police investigation as ukee was talking about earlier, erika. a community is still searching for answers, ambassador from liberia met with city officials about the deadly fire in southwest philadelphia four children died in the fire over the weekend and now tension is growing over a lack of answers. "eyewitness news" was outside city hall where a dozen people gathered to protest yesterday afternoon. residents say fire fighters took too long to respond but 911 tapes show they arrived quickly. >> the fire commission telling me with did a good job. we did a good job. if you did a good job you would have rescued somebody. >> we are trying to find out what went wrong and what can we do as the investigation continues. >> investigators are still working to determine exactly how that fire started. your time 5:36.

as of yet but beer still kind of waiting on it. lets take a look at the platt bridge heading in to south philadelphia or moving your way down towards that i-95 area, platt bridge looks great and good alternate right now because passyunk avenue bridge is closed at 28th street because of police activity. ukee was talking about this not too long ago. we are not sure how long this will be out there but it is an investigation. heading around this area i would try to avoid it if you can. watch out for a water main break closing knight road and houston road, spring garden street is your best alternate, erika. now on "eyewitness news" an exclusive, a south jersey mom in desperate need of a downer for her daughter is doing battle with her condo association. "eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones shows us what is at the heart of the condo crackdown in cherry hill. >> reporter: she might be considered a rebel, magnetic sign on her car doors is get herring in trouble with her

condo association but she does in the plan to take them down. >> rules are there for a reason but i think that this may be, trumps the reason. >> reporter: the sign honey b needs a kidney is for her daughter honey besttic. >> i have had two liver transplant within the past 20 years and the medications that i take to keep the liver destroys the kidney. >> reporter: five two-year old is on dialysis and has been/aid kidney transplant waiting list for two years. mother and daughter came up with the signs to try to find a donor to save honey's life. >> anything i could possibly do, anything. >> reporter: but she was told by her property manager the sign on the car rights a long standing rule prohibiting advertising on cars park outside. she faces a possible 50-dollar a initial fine from the society hill condo association if she does not take the signs down. property manager turn down our request for an interview.

two young men turn upshot and one walked to frankford hospital. a home owner suffered burns and fire fighter was overcome by heat exhaustion in the house fire on wyndham lane in wayne delaware county. investigators say two alarm fire started in the garage and then spread to the home. crews are working to restore power to more than 6,000 homes and businesses

we're following breaking news, police in southwest philadelphia are looking for a gunman after a drive by shooting. these are live picture from the scene on west passyunk avenue, officers say no one was hurt but they did fine several shell casings in that area. they are trying to put together a better description of that car. we have heard passyunk avenue bridge just reopened and was closed because of the investigation but hopefully in time for rush hour it is back opened now. two men are struck by gunfire minutes apart in the northeast philadelphia neighborhood. >> police want to know if those two are connected.
