we're following breaking news, police in southwest philadelphia are looking for a gunman after a drive by shooting. these are live picture from the scene on west passyunk avenue, officers say no one was hurt but they did fine several shell casings in that area. they are trying to put together a better description of that car. we have heard passyunk avenue bridge just reopened and was closed because of the investigation but hopefully in time for rush hour it is back opened now. two men are struck by gunfire minutes apart in the northeast philadelphia neighborhood. >> police want to know if those two are connected. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us from northeast detectives with more on the investigation, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to both of you. as we speak investigators are looking into those back to back shootings that as you mentioned happened just blocks apart and sent two men to the hospital, one in stable condition, the other critically wounded. in northeast philadelphia,

police are investigating two separate shootings, two blocks and ten minutes apart. >> we are not sure if they are isolated incident or if they are related but we know each of these victims was shot at separate locations. >> reporter: first happened just after midnight near darrah and philmore streets. when office's arrived they found 15 spent shell casing from his two guns but no victims. >> immediately thereafter they learn and realized that a 22-year old male victim who was shot at this intersection ran after being shot to aria frankford hospital. >> reporter: while on the scene officers heard multiple gunshots from the 4600 block of frankford avenue. >> they found a 20 years old male victim suffering from two gunshot wounds to his groin. >> reporter: he was taken to aria torresdale hospital in critical condition but is expect to survive. in addition to the victim three unattended vehicles were struck by gunfire. >> the intersection of darrah and philmore streets is mainly

a residential neighborhood with row homes at all four corners. so, we're lucky stray bullets didn't pass through any of the windows of these houses. >> so that is good news in all of this, meanwhile police are investigating and as i mentioned they are reviewing private surveillance video and talking with witnesses hoping to ultimately they are able to track down those three male suspects, seen leaving in the black vehicle. live outside northeast detectives, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a man is under arrest accused of sexually assaulting a woman he held hostage inside his germantown home. swat responded to the 100 block of west queen lane. police say the 27 year-old victim was trying to end a romantic relationship with the man when's salted her and tied her up. she was treated at the hospital. right now 6700 homes and businesses are still without power from tuesday's storms. some of the hardest hit areas

were on the main line. wind, rain brought down large trees and power lines in many neighborhoods. crews are out this morning trying to make these repairs as quickly as possible. officials say that some homes in wayne could be without power for another day. these are toasty days to not have your air conditioning worker. lets get the latest on the the forecast, katie, unsettled. >> i would say so. we will track an active pattern in the atmosphere. for those folks who got their ac knock out and their power as well, fact that we are in the dealing with as much in the way of humidity out there but it is steamy in the area shore points down through delaware this morning, and still see a couple showers, some producing brief, heavy downpours just outside of kent county, some starting to track into delaware. we will be dodging these scattered variety of that. some showers, thunderstorms off and on throughout the day. very obvious, distinct cut off here where our frontal boundary has cleared. problem is it will not

continue to drop south east but rather sagging south but not clearing out. we will dodge again additional showers and storms. looking at area dew points look at a descrepancy. we are in the mid 50's for to points in the mount pocono region compared to the very steamy 70's. we have talk about this all the time. lower dew point dryer the air. much better hair day for folks in the poconos then it is down the shore or in delaware. high their dew point gets the more steamy it becomes and more humid it will feel. we are at 47 right now but very light wind at the shore and that is allowing some pretty low lying cloud cover to settle in and i can tell you looking off camera right now in our area shore cams i can barely make out the casinos, it is starting to fog up. there will be a shower or storm around in every location. if you get to the poconos we have best shot to sees a beautiful day. further north and west you go nicer basically it will tend to be today, vittoria, over to you. good morning, everyone. still your commute is looking

just fine. we are seeing a few more vehicles on the roadway so that rush is revving up. let see how you are doing traveling on the schuylkill expressway. seventy-six approaching 476, blue route, east and westbound look great, again, here is your eastbound side, that is your westbound side right there and traffic is free flowing. in volume problems just yet but we are just waiting on it. as we look at 95, prime spot specifically southbound for that rush hour delay. we will have have a few more vehicles on the roadway, traffic ace approaching area have girard through construction zone. we are starting to slow down just a touch at this point and it will only grow bigger than that. north bound i-95 looks good. as we continue though that update passyunk after new bridge has been reopened at 28th street because of an earlier police investigation but moving our way we have a down pole in bucks county eagle road closed at wright, your best alternate toys take 413. bristol pike is closed because

the officers actions stopped the man inside from driving away, and possibly prevented more black shed. police say after several hours of tense negotiations he surrendered. >> he came out of the koran his own without resistance. >> reporter: police chased the car into the street after a massacre in the home in the town of spring. investigators say the man was a father who shot and killed four of his own children as well as two adults. he badly injured his 15 year-old daughter but she was still able to call police telling them that her father planned to go to the grandparent's home to kill them too. >> i'm so worried about the family what he did to them. >> reporter: the children who were killed were boys ages four, 13 and seven and nine year-old girls. two of them were adopted. police say the gun man was going through a divorce and helps estrange wife was out of state. >> i don't know what people go through when they go through divorce, i don't know. i imagine the rage is great.

>> reporter: teen warned police about her father is in critical condition this morning. wendy gilette for cbs-3 eyewitness news. last thing two robbers expect was for their 91 year-old victim to fight back. audry washington was attacked by two teens yesterday afternoon when she return to her home on carpenter street in cobbs creek. after a day at the senior center. >> put the key in the lock, opened the door and then someone put something over my head and over my face. i bit his finger. that was stick nothing my mouth. when i came too i was missing my rings, my fingers were hurt and i was sore. >> suspects got away with her diamond ring. they dropped a suitcase, her television and another one of her rings while running from the scene. here's some of the things that are happening today. there is a court appearance for the man accused in last december's murder of retired

villanova professor carol armbrewster. jose diaz stabbed her to death in her apartment in 2011. there will be a hearing for the man accused of sexually assaulting and robbing a woman the not far from rittenhouse square. milton garcia was track down last month. in a preliminary hearing for timothy brooks, police say he and neil scott distributed drugs to high schools and colleges in the philadelphia area. eleven people were arrested in the alleged drug ring. still ahead this morning on "eyewitness news" a main line mansion goes up in flames, find out what the owner was doing when that fire broke out. also, donald sterling gets nasty in court and starts hurling insults at his wife, the name he called her coming up next. and modern medicine that sound more like science fiction on, are doctors are growing a new ear on this girls arm? that is in the this morning's healthwatch.

destinations. a million-dollar mansion in wayne, delaware county engulfed in flames and now we know how it happened. you can see giant flames poured from the luxury property on wyndham lane yesterday afternoon. chopper three captured fire fighters as they worked to get a handle on the two alarm blaze. this was the aftermath police tell us that the home owner was working on a monster truck in the garage when something went terribly wrong. a neighbor saw it all happen. >> he was working on a truck and it blew blew up, once he was working on it and it engulfed the garage and then the whole house started to smoke. authorities say homeowners suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital. a fire fighter was treated at the scene for symptoms of heat exhaustion. 6:13. here's traffic and weather together on the three's, katie. >> good morning, everybody. storm scan three is showing signs of life here we will track our latest frontal boundary and starting to seep off to the south and sagging off to the south but it will not really clear our area we

will have to dodge additional showers, perhaps a thunderstorm out there as well, as the day goes on. so, that again is going to be our story here for the next, i would say even as late as tomorrow, possibly, even saturday more than anything it looks like we will keep some clouds around in the days ahead. but it is a partly sunny day, shower or thunderstorm in the forecast, kind of scattered variety, we should not be dealing with severe weather now that there is some stability starting to get back in the atmosphere but still not enough to leave us dry and clear. but we will eventually start to clear out throughout the overnight and wake up i think generally to a quiet start tomorrow. partial sunshine out there tomorrow. there may still be a lingering shower out there, looking ahead to saturday, we should end up with sunshine and then by sunday another system waits in the wings bringing us our next round of showers, and storms, vittoria, over to you. thanks very much, katie. good morning, everyone. we are starting to see that rush we have been waiting on. 6:15. we are seeing that eastbound

we continue to follow breaking news, in southwest philadelphia "eyewitness news" on passyunk avenue where police are investigating a drive by shooting but no one was hurt but we are told several shell casing where is found in that area. passyunk avenue bridge was shut down for a short time during investigation that was reopened about 30 minutes ago, authorities are now trying to get a better description of the car involve. right now 6:31. two blocks and in ten minutes, that is all it took for gunfire to injure two men in frankford overnight. good morning everyone. philadelphia police are

investigating if the two crimes are related. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us from northeast detectives, nicole. >> reporter: ukee and erika, this morning police are still investigating those two shootings and searching for three suspects who may be associated with both of those crimes. lets roll video and set the the scene for you at least for that first shooting, that happened after midnight near darrah and philmore streets in northeast philadelphia when office's arrived they found 15 spent shell casing from his two separate guns but no victim. that 22-year old male was shot once in the thigh ran from that scene, two aria frankford hospital in stable condition. now while there officers then heard multiple gunshots coming from the 4600 block of frankford avenue again just a couple blocks away and that is where they found a 20 year-old male victim with two gunshot wounds to his groin area he was taken to aria torresdale hospital in critical condition but is expect to survive. in addition to the victims

officers also found three unattended vehicles also struck by gunfire unsettling site considering how close they were parked to peoples homes. >> the intersection of darrah and philmore streets is mainly a residential neighborhood with row homes at all four corners, so we're lucky stray bullet, didn't pass through any of the windows of these houses. we are lucky on a warm night although after midnight we are lucky no innocent victims were struck by stray bullets. >> reporter: that, of course is good news in all this. i mentioned those suspects, three male suspects last seen running east on the 1600 block of philmore before getting into a black vehicle and then again traveling east. at this point detectives have obtained some private surveillance video, they are reviewing that and they are also hoping to hear from additional witnesses. for now we are live outside northeast detectives, nicole brewer, cbs-3 eyewitness news.

6:33. traffic and weather together, katie. >> good morning, everybody. we have been dealing with the frontal boundary for a day and a half that brought in stormy weather yesterday and brought in more stormy weather the day before that and now it does not want to leave. storm scan three still shows signs of life generally off to the south of kent county portions of the del marva peninsula getting a affect by this and would i say most of us, have a shot to see an additional shower or storm because you can see a very distinct back edge where skies clear out but you will have to go in the poconos region or central pennsylvania before you can guarantee a dry day. so that is basically what we are charge with here a mixed bag, some clouds, some sun, a shower, a storm, basically got it all going on here except for wintry precipitation thank goodness. 70 degrees is current temperature outside lower merion high school at the moment. very quiet intersection these days because of the school, schools being let out for the summer but you as we go forward in the forecast here we will heat up. we're looking at 74 degrees

currently at the airport. cooler by comparison where we have had a chance to clear skies out more readily especially mount pocono. we have sweat shirt weather up that way. 57 degrees right now. as the the day progresses we should leave in the city to seasonal 86 but as i said a shower, perhaps a thunderstorm cannot rule it out later today, vittoria, over to you. >> better to be safe than sorry, right. if you are traveling through this rush hour that is what you will see, rush hour delays on i-95 and so on and so forth. lets give you an idea what you are dealing w look at ben franklin bridge, if you are heading in to philadelphia using the westbound side of the ben, just a tad bit of slow go approaching that area, not much at all. eastbound side we are dealing with construction being blocked by that right-hand lane there. so, it is just really not that bad. you can look at the roosevelt boulevard. would i say worst roadway right now will be 95 as it is because of the construction zones. ninety-five southbound is jammed approaching the area have have of allegheny down to the vine. would i say some of that volleys starting to stem back

towards betsy ross bridge area but boulevard is looking pretty good. even the sue kellies at 44. but take a look 22 on i-95, 55 own 476, no major problems if you are traveling on the pennsylvania turnpike, northeast extension, however, we are dealing with an down pole in chalfont closing limekiln pike at butler avenue bristol road is your best alternate here. moving our way over to bucks county, eagle road is closed as a result of the down pole at wright roth. your best alternate route 413. because of the down poles, wires, from those storms a few days ago still be careful moving out of the neighborhoods, this morning, ukee. governor corbett could make a final decision about the state budget spending plan. it has been more than a week since the the start of the fiscal year. governor has yet to give final approval because he wanted changes in the state's public sector pension plans. he could veto specific parts and send it back to the legislature entirely. i495 bridge project in delaware is ahead of schedule, shut down last month when

officials learn four sets of pillars were tilting. crews had hoped to have southbound lanes reopened by labor day but if the pace continues they will be done weeks before that. the northbound lanes would reopen about a month later. the cost of the project is like 35 million-dollar. right now 6:37. as job market improves more workers are leaving old jobs for new ones and in doing so they have to make a big decision what to do with those old retirement plans. >> cbs news business analyst jill schlesinger is up in new york with some advice, hi jill, good morning to you. >> good morning. >> what are options for those who leave jobs or retire. >> reporter: generally you have three choices. leave money in the old plan, roll over fund from the old plan into your future employer's plan or you may be able to roll over fund into an ira roll over account at a brokerage or mutual fund company. >> which do you know is best one for you and your money. >> reporter: yeah, i will make you do some homework, sorry.

you have to figure out fees you are paying in your current plan. this should be easier these taste because there is some laws that say they have to show you what your fees are. look at the fees today, where you, compare them with the details of your new plan. if your old plan has lots of choices and reasonable expense level and new flap, you may be better off staying put. conversely if the new plan is comparable to the old one it really might be easier to consolidate all of your retirement hold initial to one place. increasingly though more americans who are retiring are moving on to new jobs, they are transferring assets from old plans into ira. there has been a 60 percent increase in assets moving from employer plans to ira's over the past decade. >> hit us up with more on that rolling over in the ira, more benefits. is what the benefit. >> well, benefit is you will definitely have more freedom to control your investment but you have got to be wear of
