a lull obviously right now, here on the skydeck, we'll tell when you to expect the next round coming up. bob? >> 5:00 o'clock straight up on a tuesday morning, looking live at i-95, where everything is wet and soaked from all of the rain last night, dealing with a lot of debris from some of your secondary roads in the neighborhood. and getting words of transformer problem here in center city. all of the details coming up next. >> downed power lines and uprooted trees illustrate the power of mother nature. another round every strong storms leave nor clean up jobs in the region. steve patterson joins us at voorhees, new jersey to show you more of all of the damage, steve? >> ukee, if you want good look at what voorhees new jersey looks like this morning, just take a look behind me. look at this tree destroying part of the side of this home, and then ripping some of the siding off of the home. then you can see, all of the branches down in the yard, the lawn mower, check this out, over here, look at this, lawn

mower is on its side, completely ripped up by this uprooted treement just one of the many examples what we're seeing in every yard in this neighborhood. but gets whole lot worse. take a look at the video we brought along, as well. power lines are down and roads all around this area, the power remains out for a lot of customers this area, as well. you see the arcing and sparking of the downed power lines, that's why the roads remain shutdown, crews have to continue during work this morning, heavy, heavy winds, strong rains came through the area, and really tore things up here. we're still seeing the siding torn off some of the roofs. we also mentioned the number of lightning strikes that happened in this area. we spoke to one woman who came back to survey her home this morning, says, she was in the car during the storm, and listened what she had to say about the lightning that was around her while she was in the car with her three year old son.

>> there was lightning striking all around us, everywhere, you know, our whole drive home, we were literally in the eye of the storm. we were sitting at the intersection when the tree fell right off of 561. yes, so it is pretty scary. i was happy to get home and get out of the car. roar. >> reporter: pretty scary again. they found tree limbs dangling like christmas tree links dangling. meanwhile, national weather service should be in this area at some point later this morning, to survey the damage. it is a possible tornado. but they'll check it out as they continue to do their work, as well. the latest from voorhees, new jersey, steve patterson, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". a lot to clean up, steve, thank you. we have several lightning strikes right here in delaware county. look at your video right there. bolts from the ominous looking clouds right down to the gown.

teenage boy is lucky to be alive after being struck by lightning in glenn old edenboro last night. we're told it happened on ashland avenue right as the 14 year old was getting inside a car. he was rushed to the hospital. remains good condition this morning. and, check this out. we have some eyewitness cam video from abington township montgomery county. another lightning strike hitting a utility pole and sparked a fire. no injuries were reported. this morning, only few hundred power outages remain throughout the area. crews have made a lot of progress over night restoring that power. and unfortunately, katie, could be dejavu this afternoon with so many storms on the horizon? >> great way of putting. that's it. looks like the timing will be so similar to what we saw yesterday. so we went through one day of this. now you can sort of, okay, this is where i was at that time of day when the storms rolled in. it is a very similar scenario for us out there today. and, again, it is day two of what looks to be some very strong or severe thunderstorms. at the moment, obviously, things are pretty quiet here on the cbs-3 skydeck.

man, it is so muggy outside. so you're going to notice the second you hit the road here today, but we are, again, looking at eventually the potential for more storms. here is a photo sent us to us from andrea miller from sick lick ville, new jersey, quite a light show display for us last nightment storm scan3, at the moment, as i said, little bit of lull just outside of lancaster county, early similar. some of what we saw yesterday, starting to see those showers firing up here, just outside of lancaster county, and just matter of time here before we start to seymour of those storms peaking in for our area. see if we can advance the graphic for you here. for some reason, having an issue. let's see, here we go. storm scan3, wider zoom for you at the moment. see there is still a loft moisture to work with. cloud cover overhead. heavier thunderstorms firing up back through northwestern pennsylvania, quick check on the area temperatures, currently in at 75 degrees, at philadelphia international. sixty-seven in mount pocono, very, very muggy, and by

comparison, to our neighbors up across the northern high planes, midwest, mid 50's right now out that way. so, the clash that's taking place is really, you know, for lack of better phrase, what's going to be responsible here for our next round of severe storms. so flashflood watches in effect through this evening, for the whole region, basically, here, shaded in the green. so all of new jersey, all of delaware, all of eastern pa. around the region as a whole, flirt with 80 in the poconos, hid mitt 80s at the shore points, you will flirt with 90 in philly. but everybody seeing at least little sun, that helps get some of the instability going, and then more storms are set to fire up for us as we go through the day. bob, we send it into you. >> katie, good morning, we begin our tuesday morning with some storm damage all around the board. stepping out the front door, maybe tree branch, some wet roads, guaranteed here as we roll out and check the schuylkill expressway and say glad morning to the headlights coming into town, leaving king of prussia, again, just watch it, especially through the construction zones. all of the roads are damp, wet from the storms that rolled

through last night. let's take live look at the ben franklin bridge, keep in mind only three lanes open this week during the morning rush hour. we saw huge delays yesterday that started to build around 7:00, 7:30 or so, so just watch the clock. ben franklin okay now. but the 7:00 witching hour is going to be a totally different story. going to the news van, we're live on the scene hereof underground transformer explosion. this is 18th street right at sansom. so that stretch, between chestnut and walnut, see peco crews on the scene here, again, in center city philadelphia. no reports of any major damage. but obviously with the roadblock here this morning, that's going to tie us up for the beginning of our morning rush hour. going to the maps. again, it is 18th street blocked between walnut and chestnut. again that main intersection there, is sansom. but, they're blocking it between our two majors. so stay with 20th street, and expect delays in this stretch of center city, at least through the first half of our

morning rush hour. otherwise, mass transit looking good with no reported delays. ukee, back over to you. >> thank you, bob. news this morning, scare on septa subway train when passenger is caught with very dangerous weapon. these pictures from septa police. now the guns are fake. but the knives, they're real. septa officials tell us another passenger on the broad street line spotted the weapons late last night and called police. officers arrested the man at love park and they found 4bb guns and three butchers knife on him. he told police he needs the weapons for his personal protection. we're following some breaking news right now. mideast cease-fire plan has hit a snag. hamas has rejected egypt's proposal, israel accepted it. this morning, there was another rocket attack on israel. it injured two people and damaged buildings and cars, a lot in the southern city. late last night president obama had hoped the cease-fire would be a done deal.

claims, 2012 claims to be shredded. i opened them, i took pictures, and i saw things in the box that is are not supposed to be shredded. >> the va used the hearing to claim progress in reducing the disability claims backlog. happening today, a preliminary hearing for the west philadelphia man accused of murdering a man outside a mantua day care center. twenty year old shane pain faces murder and weapons charges in the february shooting death of marquis williams. prosecutors say payne shot williams and another man outside h and h day care on 40th and popular streets. none of the children inside the day care center were hurt. and, we could learn more about the woman whose body was found bound and stuffed inside a duffle bag in north philadelphia. the woman's body was discovered near a vacant home on north third street near susquehanna early yesterday morning. police located the victim's burned car a few hours earlier

in grays ferry. she is described as hispanic female in her early 20's. this morning, we now know what caused more than 100 people to be evacuated from their homes. but there is still one unanswered question. >> also this morning, unimaginable heart break. mother who lost two young children in this fast moving fire tells her emotional story only to "eyewitness news". and, you have to see this. carjacker picks the wrong target. see how some brave bystanders stopped his attack. katy? >> ukee, second day straight of severe weather potential. we will track these storms for you, tell you when you need to be watching the skiles for the stormy weather. full details and your full forecast coming up.

that will as we look at storm scan3, obviously not completely in the clear until we get this back edge of cloud cover, through that point, we can finally start to see the skies clear out, and we will start to see some sunshine return. this is very, very potent front. day two now, of more severe storm potential for our area. we walk you through future weather as of 10:00 o'clock this morning, couple of showers already beginning to fire up at least in future weather. see whether that verifies or not. generally speaking, the first half of the day, much like yesterday firing up here, back to the west and south, by the early evening, and when you start to see these bright pink and magenta showing up, you know you will deal with real heavy rain, very strong storms. this may come through much like it did last night, between say seven p.m. to 9:00 p.m. so the timing is awfully similar. and, we will still be left leaving behind couple of showers if not few thunderstorms here. may ville have to dodge

is talking about what happened. hospitalized, for a week, her voice nearly taken away by the smoke and flames. she braved the fire, back on july 5th. rush to go get her 11 year old twins, and 13 year old, to jump to safety from a rear window. but when she went back tore her four year old twins, and two other children, the home was already engulfed by flames. >> i didn't know what to do. >> she went to save three children from the fire ... >> as she recovers surrounded by family, she now faces the task every planning for the children's funerals. 5:20 right now. we finally know what caused the strange smell that forced more than 150 people out of their montgomery county homes. turns out gasoline and sump pump pits caused mysterious odor at this housing development in skip and. but officials still aren't sure where the gas came from.

northwestern pa, line of very heavy thunderstorms already rumbling through. back here at home, mainly just little pocket of showers, outside of lancaster county, but you can still see the puddles left behind, look closely behind the path outside whitt fields elementary school, haze has settled, in very steamy, moisture laden air mass to work w even little bit of sun that we're expecting here today, just going to be what we need to see that fresh round of very nasty storms fire up. on top of it all, though, this frontal boundery means business. very potent one, but it doesn't necessarily cool us off all that much. we should still be into the mid 80s here both wednesday, thursday, but the bigger story for us will be the comfort level. starts to feel so much better to us, especially by too many afternoon, may be lingering rain specially in the morning. over to you. >> 5:24 on tuesday morning, all of the roads are wet, damp from all of the rain we had last night, as you roll out of the driveway, be prepared for maybe trash can lynn, maybe down tree limb, maybe tree, wires out, there the whole gahm but the this morning. going outside, live look at
