now storm scan three is showing a few of these little showers and some might have just a little bit more to them. it is not heavy rain by any stretch along the coastline but still you might find a brief heavier shower and might be a few spring also well off to the west. this is the general trend as we go through at least morning hours along the shore areas. so certainly not a wash out today down there at all but you will find a couple of sprinkles and a few clouds that want to hang around but great beach day, nice day every place. we will watch these temperatures in the 80's and we will keep them in the 80's today, barely in the 80's and then tomorrow we're slightly higher in the 80's, still not all that humid. so, it doesn't look bad tomorrow either. then it will be more humid by the the time we get to tuesday and we will start to pick up temperatures even higher in the 80's at that point. the comfort index. well, current dew point is 60, today's dew point is 60, 61 degrees. so what does that mean?
6:16 am
translation is, not bad, not bad at all. yesterday we had them down in the pleasant and awesome range but we will take not bad, on a sunday in the middle of july. so computer models, really this one is doing a stellar job especially the place. of this very weak low pressure system. so it brings a few of these spring also along the shore. the first thing this morning. do you see, one sprinkle in millville? to you see three others by mid afternoon and maybe one or two other places? but generally notice that the skies start to clear out a little bit. you might get a brief sprinkle and i mean brief, if you see anything, i think generally the trendies for improving weather today and by 11:00 tonight go look at the stars because it should be mostly clear by then and then as you can see we will pick up one or two clouds tomorrow, that is it. so relatively quiet weather pattern until we get into a probably the wednesday, thursday, time period, that looks to be, the time period that we will get to start to
6:17 am
see some of these showers coming in here. this computer model wants to put some in as early as tuesday. so just maybe not completely sunny and dry over the next couple of days, but, really close to it. and it has been cool as you know. look at these temperatures yesterday. that was the capper i think. 80 degrees. we will be 1 degree higher then that but it is a far cry from the 91 # that we saw earlier. if you are going to the beaches, 78 degrees. we've got clouds and a sprinkle. you've got a relative liz high uv index because you can get sunburned through the clouds and rip current risk today is low, wind north east at 15 miles an hour. that makes it feel nice, and refreshing, at the beaches today. 78 degrees in the poconos. shore, 81 through philadelphia. this is ideal as we too watch for easterly winds at five to ten. we should be seeing sun by the afternoon but you cannot also rule out a brief sprinkle. throw in the kitchen sink on this one.
6:18 am
68 degrees. mostly cloudy to clearing skies overnight. still very comfortable with these temperatures as long as they remain in the 60's and dew points stay down. we should not be complaining too much about this. now, by monday, 85 degrees. tuesday 89 degrees. wednesday, i don't think as hot as we thought it was going to be yesterday when we said 94 with a lot higher humidity. it will probably feel like 95 on wednesday. that is plenty hot. also as a cold front approaches we will start to pick up chances of showers and thunderstorms later in the day on wednesday and then again, on thursday. but it should be gone and air mass drying out by friday, 58 degrees. next saturday also at this point, nicole, looks spectacular. >> ahh, that is great, something to look forward to enjoy the 80's while they last, carol, thank you. 6:18. we have sad news to report from hollywood this morning. celebrity web site tmz is reporting that actor james garner has now died. site as ambulance was called to garner's los angeles home

ever had before. >> the basis cash on steel. >> samsung gear fit. >> reporter: several new fitness devices offer heart rate tracking using optical monitors to measure blood flow but how do they compare to the gold standard of heart rate machine for the ekg. i tried to get a reading three times at rest and three times after running on a treadmill. first device was v iv o fit which gives you a heart rate without having to stop to take a reading. >> it is done. >> chest straps essentially have an ekg lead right over the chest so it is the the same technology. >> reporter: next required thaw stopped exercising and hold still, using optical sensors. basis carbon steel and samsung gear fit were accurate at my normal resting rate but were off after running on the treadmill. >> not so accurate, optical sensor is in the near the heart but flowing near your capital larrys.

6:46 am
today but it is not the as hot or humid as it could be, so we will take those clouds, and recognize the benefits and the the gifts that they are bringing us. i want to show you another picture. this is in rehoboth beach. this is a time lapse. keep your eye on the boardwalk. note that is they have picked up some showers, overnight, and as we put this into motion, thinks a loop over the the the last five hours, you can see some of those showers, and the great skies, that are down there right now, not too many people on the boardwalk, a temperature of 67 degrees, at the the present time down in rehoboth beach. so that is how the day, starts, it is not necessarily how the day will finish though. things will be getting a little bit better, is there low pressure in the atlantic and it is slowly moving by and it will go, and things change. so 70 degrees. that is out at the airport in philadelphia we have temperatures in the 70's all around philadelphia but as you go far enough to the south, 07 in rehoboth beach. zero seven in wildwood. zero seven in dover. so, it is fairly comfortable this morning. it is cooler in the poconos as you might expect at 57 degrees. now, storm scan three, notice that we are looking at these
6:47 am
showers, they are moving on, but they are heading in to the atlantic city area and they have been there anyway. so these things go and we will be left with some better weather conditions, i think a little bit later this have afternoon as this low finally goes past us. and then things become pretty nice. it is nice later on today. it is nice out there right now. kind of a relief. we do need sprinkles and you might see one. if you do, just say okay, birds need a drink too. so, we're looking at tomorrow, and little bit more humid, not undually oppressively humid but slightly more humid tomorrow. temperatures will be higher in the 80's and then they will get higher in the 80's on tuesday. and then into the 90's by the time we get to wednesday. future weather has been pretty well pegged. i think this is just a tiny bit closer to the shoreline but that is fine, that is an a plus effort, later on this afternoon around the noon time hour there is a sprinkle around, do we see these things, these cloud start to
6:48 am
lesson and see some sunshine? it is very possible. in that case we do see a couple of little pop up sprinkles. you might. so i think all of that is in the forecast as we go through this afternoon. by 11:00 o'clock tonight skies should be clearing. we will find a few more clouds coming in here, monday looks to be a dray day for us off to the west, possibility of get something rain showers but it is out of the philadelphia area and then by tuesday, a chance of picking up some showers but i think generally more to the west and then by wednesday it is hot around here. so, go to the poconos where it is 77 for the high today 80 for tomorrow. tuesday, 82 degrees. maybe a shower or thunderstorms in the the poconos at that point. today it is 81 through philadelphia 78 at the shore. and 78 degrees in the poconos. so you've got a nice choice on these temperatures. eighty-one through philadelphia easterly wind five to 10 miles an hour, mostly cloudy skies, later on in the day. we will see the sun coming out. 68 degrees, you might still find a few clouds out tonight
6:49 am
but still comfortable because it is in the 60's and then the next couple of days we will remain in the 80's it looks like every day but one but that within day is a hot one, wednesday, 93 degrees. now at that point we will see a cold front approaching that will kick off best chances on wednesday night, and still maybe flew the day on thursday. so those two days especially, so a pop up here or there cannot be totally ruled out even on tuesday off to the west. so by friday and saturday another air mass comes in, a better one, dryer, it is cooler, it looks like a great end to the week after a hot middle, nicole. >> carol, thank you. 6:49. let check on those roads with ann, standing by in the cbs-3 traffic center, good morning. >> good morning, nicole. this is i-95 at penns landing. in delays here. we have some delays on i-95 northbound further north of the betsy ross bridge. is there an accident on the exit ramp for betsy ross bridge, aramingo avenue but it is in the process of being cleared. so i-95 looks pretty good through philadelphia and its suburbs this morning. moving the traffic cam to the
