washington. >> palestinians in the gaza strip woke to more rocket fire this morning as the grounds war continued to escalate between israel and hamas militants. calls for a cease-fire grew louder on sunday, the deadliest day of fighting. >> violence must stop now. >> the united nations security council held an emergency meeting late sunday night, to discuss and called for an immediate halt to the fighting. gaza health officials say the death toll among palestinians has topped 500 since the conflict started. tens of thousands have fled their homes for safety.

headlines, now peaking how things are shaping up early this monday morning, you can see on storm scan3, clouds off to the south with system still lurk interesting over portions of virginia, and north carolina, but as we zoom in on our area, really not seeing much of anything at all. few high clouds drifting through. nicer weather done the shore today as well after bit of cloudy week out there. take a look at temperatures, again, 56 allentown, 57 mount pocono, 68 degrees at the airport, and we're at 61 right in you in atlantic city, more humid, dew points still in the comfortable rage, but head through tomorrow, into wednesday, you will feel that july heat and humidity return. so, your day planner for today looks for mix of sun and clouds to start you off, 9:00 a.m. 70 degrees, by noon, at 78, more humid, pleasant afternoon, 3:00 p.m., clouds, 84, not too bad. still in the comfy to moderate range, notice how the humidity rises over couple of days, and by wednesday, feeling down right oppressivement so coming up with the seven day forecast, i'll let you know if heat and humidity lasts beyond

walt whitman, and tries to go south into south jersey. anyone coming back from the shore, as we like to do on a monday morning, you are good to go. no problems on the expressway, the parkway, route 47 looking good, and mass transit running with no delays. erika, back over to you. >> bob, thank you. new this morning, man shot in north philadelphia. tells cbs-3 he was shot in the leg at ninth and lehigh avenue around 2:00 a.m. he was taken to the hospital. his injuries are not considered to be life threatening. police are looking for three men, who were seen running away from the scene. and an investigation continues this morning, surrounding a family dispute that turned deadly in west philadelphia. a man who uses a wheelchair opens fire killing his own brother after he said the man attacked his sister. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo where we could learn if any charges will be filed. jan, good morning. >> reporter: this family still trying to figure out exactly what happened this weekend as police continue to investigate. now, police say one man who is in a wheelchair shot and

killed his very own brother claiming it was done in self-defense. >> victim here police say shot and killed by his own brother. >> brian lee said he was sleeping upstairs with his kids when he heard the commotion. his brother-in-law, john map had been shot by his younger brother who say is a paraplegic. when he realize what happened, lee says it was too late. >> there is nothing in the world that they wouldn't do for me, i wouldn't do for them, really generally great people. >> police say the shooting around 4:00 sunday morning on the 58 and block of filbert street west philadelphia. when police arrived, they found 40 year old john map lying in the middle of the street,

chest. he was rushed to the hospital where he later died. lee says he has no idea what happened. >> i'm not going to say anything to damage anyone's integrity or anything. other than that, i have no idea. >> but according to police, map's younger brother told investigators, map was physically abusing him andsistes sister map came after him. and that's when the 34 year old says he shot. he said in self-defense. >> i wasn't there. but at the same time, i knew that this is a tragedy that's going to rock the family forever. >> now, police say, preliminarilly it seems like this all started over some sort of family dispute. this investigation is continuing at this point. no live outside of police

ohio officer risk his life to rescue suspected drunk driver. officer's cruiser on highway outside of cleveland. see him drag that man across several lanes of traffic. now the officer had pulled that man over on drunk driving charges, when all of a sudden he got out of his car, and walk onto the busy highway. he is a hero there is guy should really thank him. i don't think there is any guy on this department that wouldn't have done the same thing. we have a lot of great guys here. that's part of the job that you spring into action. >> now, it wasn't an easy job at all considering the driver ways so weighing 340 pounds. he already pleaded no contest to drunk driving, and speeding charges. right now, a 13:00, we want our traffic and weather together. kate is in for katie, good morning. >> good monday everyone, if you are waking up now, another pretty nice day on the way. a lot like yesterday a mix every sunday shine and temperatures, clouds warmer than they were this weekend.

influx of children seek refuge in the u.s. sparks protest in berks county. dozens of demonstrators outside bethany's home in heidelberg township 15 miles wells every reading. the children's home takes part in a program called helping hands. they take in children crossing the border and give them food and shelter and medical care. >> illegal have gotten so far. our vets are still waiting. our vets are still waiting in line. >> this is not an issue about illegal or legal or invasion. this is an issue about how we're going to treat refugees in the united states. the children's home says they've helped about 06 children, and not all are illegal immigrants t takes them roughly ten to 12 days to

let's look outside right now. starting to see light in the sky, few clouds out, there not bad. still, a solid half hour or so away from sunrise, little less than, that you can see the ben franklin bridge all lit up. the sky brightening up, as well. so much easier to get out every when it is a little light outside. storm scan3, no problems outside. looking good as far as cloud cover is concerned, pretty clear, zooming out, you can see system off to the south, which is stalled over virginia, and portions of north carolina, but that's going to stay south of us for today. so i expect pretty nice day, few more clouds, but we'll see breaks every sunday as well, a lot like yesterday. 68 degrees at the airport, 67 in reading, and 66 in wilmington, comfortable 61 right now atlantic city. current dew .60. where the dew point will stay today. dew point is a measure of the moisture content in the airment look at dew point versus relative humidity. relative humidity just a percentage taken from the dew point and the tell tear, but dew point at the 06 range, that puts us kind of in the not bad area, not not dry air we felt coupl of days ago, but certainly not oppressive or insufferable, pretty comfortable air out there. through today, and we'll steam up through the reminder of the week. now we check in with bob. good morning. >> good morning, 5:24, happy monday, hope you enjoyed the weekends, and new speed limit
