today it is wednesday july 23rd good morning aim ukee washington. i'm erika von tiehl. here are stories we are following today. faa banned all flights in tel aviv. jane carabao has an update from philadelphia international on when that ban may be lifted. a suspect is in custody after a home invasion and robbery and now authorities are investigate if you go that suspect is connect to other area break ins. new jersey teacher is under arrest for sexually assaulting a student. more on the arrest coming up. those stories and more on the way. katie is back in the house. she's over in the weather center. >> hello, are you noticing the color choice of the day. >> yeah, yeah. >> may not be a heat wave

necessarily but not even a heat advisory. starting to get steamy outside. i like to brighten it up for you okay, all right, brighten it up. >> it works. on a day like this it will be very hot, steamy out there and that is all as we anticipate the arrival and passage of our next cold front which you can see over my shoulder. let's take storm scan three wide screen and we have pretty nasty thunderstorms through northwestern ohio, northern indiana and that will be the the system that affect our weather forecast today. in the meantime all we're doggies building up heat, building up humidity and that moisture source to bring in thunderstorms. generally it looks like a p.m. issue. we will track those storms and that is coming up in the next couple minutes. guys, back to you. we will start with breaking news oversees, secretary of state john kerry just landed in israel's main airport despite a faa ban as he continues to end the the blood shows in gaza.

kerry is there to meet with israel prime minister, palestine's president and u.n. chief today. meanwhile the death toll in the gaza strip continues to climb, since fighting began july 8th, more than 600 palestinians and 29 israelis have been killed. the israelis working hard to avoid civilian casualties and blames hamas for using hamas for using civilian as hugh ma'am shield. a week even fight ago this killed, six others. hamas claims, that they have abduct the solder. meanwhile hamas rocket exploded near israel's main airport yesterday, prompting the faa ban on all u.s. flights to tel aviv. >> restriction could remain in effect at least until this afternoon. and tel aviv. in the meantime, u.s. airlines have temporarily suspended travel, to that country because of the recent out break of violence. there was a flight into philadelphia here this morning at 5:20 from tel aviv that has of course been canceled. news of this tell prepare i travel ban came yesterday after rockets fired hit near the israel's main airport. u.s. airlines act add head of the faa some canceling all future flights to and from the country. federal aviation administration prohibited all u.s. airlines from flying to the tel aviv airport for 24 hours and that left many travelers scrambling some declaring they would proceed with their trips anyway, and many folks including michael bloomberg says flight concessions are a concession to hamas militants. bloomberg flew off, on the israeli airline, on tuesday and many others are attempting to do the same to support the

see the beginnings of this next cold front that i showed you a few minutes ago moving in. all is calm for the time being, lets zoom it out one more time there is the the front, beginnings of the it, very heavy thunderstorms that have begun to erupt back through buck eye state and indiana and these storms will make their arrival here. clouds do start to thicken up with time. let walk you through future weather, most of the day looks okay, starting to see a little bit of activity here popping as early assay two or three p.m. but generally from the city north and west it should be a good beach day. off to the west though those storms become more numerous with time and then we will see a rine, just start to move in here. it does not however look like these storms have necessarily wherewithal to be locally severe but slight risk for extreme northeastern pennsylvania. currently temperatures, staying in the low to mid 07's, 60's, depending on location. but mild for sure. we're on the muggy side. expect sunshine for better part of the day but clouds will thicken and storms will

begin to pop up, bob, good morning. >> good morning, 4:35. live look at i-95 where we're in that overnight construction with us on the northbound side, between ridley, and a approaching philly international the airport. it that is milling and paving operation on the northbound side, only this one lane opened, last night, they milled the two left lanes. tonight they are putting down the brand new road surface there, blacktop. ab wear of the delay north bound. rest of our major roadways are in good shape n problems at all, 422 coming from royersford, schuylkill behaving itself with no delays but if you are trying to get on the turnpike from the lansdale interchange through an extra 15 minutes in your trip. lansdale on ramp to come south on the northeast extension, overnight construction, for maybe another hour or so and at times there is 15 minute stoppages at the interchange itself. they are also working on the turnpike eastbound right here near philly bensalem interchange, overnight work still out on the 42 freeway

right here near route 544. bridges look fine at the moment. the mass transit running with no delays. erika, back over to you. formal charges are expect for a suspect arrested yesterday in connection to a main line home invasion and robbery. >> let's show you cell phone video of the arrest. the investigators say suspect was surprised to find a couple in the home he broke into in gulph mills when according to police the suspect tied up a woman and forced her fiance to drive to a their by atm. the couple was in the injured but neighbors say that they just can't believe it. >> she was tied up, and these kind of bizarre things are happening in my neighborhood. quite a shock. >> i still think this is a relatively safe area and i'm concern about my neighbor and how he is doing. >> woman was able to free herself and call police. investigators are checking to see if the suspect is connected to a rash of similar break ins in that area. today is a national day of mourning for the victims in malaysia airlines flight 17. we have new video just into

of the 4900 block of thompson street in west philadelphia. authorities say that around 10:30 last night a man was riding his bike when he was shot multiple times. in word on motive as police continue to search for the gun man. high school teacher in south jersey is arrested for sexually assaulting a student and possessing child pornography. police say joseph towns was an english teacher in middletown ship high school in cape may county. authorities say the 34 year-old engage in criminal sexual contact with the the student from october 2012 through october 2013. shortly after ago rested yesterday he posted bail and was released from jail. the the school district suspended towns and removed him from any contact with students. the netter providence police department released a sketch of the man involved in the potential child luring incident tuesday morning. authorities say that shortly after 11:00 a.m. the the man seen right there attempt todd lure a teenage female in his small black car that happened on providence road in the area

philadelphia's only casino is looking to cash in on its popularity... >> sugar house broke ground on a $164 million expansion project yesterday. a new 30 table poker room, new restaurant and a seven story parking garage are all in the works. this project will be a virtual jackpot for the the city. it will create 1600 temporary construction jobs and 500 permanent jobs to the casino. >> very exciting day, long time coming. >> to be in the position to provide adequate employment for residents of the city is

it will be most noticeable thing. it is hot, steamy and showers and storms move in. if you have early morning outdoor plans and that is only time you will be out for an extended period of time, you are good. you will be okay. it is warm and muggy but then eventually we will talk later in the day and towards night fall, that is when storms do start to fire up. lets go out and start things off with the quick check of the live neighborhood network starting off here in reading. this i a picture of west lawn pa outside whitefield elementary school. 75 degrees. mild, very light win. but more than anything i want to you note that is direction southeasterly breeze kick nothing here. it is a very modest breeze, the wind flow is critical when you talk about where the humidity is coming from and whether it is bad or tolerable. storm san three, empty. it will stay that way for better part of the daylight hours but would i say two or 3:00 p.m. we may start to see these showers and storms, firing up at least locally and here's why, of course, our

4:53. let's get traffic and weather together. good morning, bob. >> good morning, everybody. this is route 202 near route 401, it is all part of the widening project and every night they work closer south, again, laying down that new road surface. putting down the concrete and of course bright lights are still on. light volume so far this morning. you are not tied up at all but 95. right here northbound. it is down to one lane as we squeeze over from 420 up toward the airport area as part of the milling and repaving. you can see all three lanes go into one right here at 420. they are in the process of picking cones up but if you are heading up towards the airport ab wear of the construction. trying to get on the extension from lansdale the lansdale on ramp, to come south on the extension, they are doing some work with 15 minute stoppages and north on 295, construction delays, at that 42 freeway. coming up from delaware in problems at all, i-95 looking good but usually, katie around 6:00 o'clock or so when it
