with how this will impact our local travelers, jane, good morning. >> reporter: erika and ukee, local travelers are left scrambling for other options to get to israel, happening today, we could learn new updates from the faa about this travel ban. happening this morning is what supposed to be a flight here to philadelphia international airport from tel aviv, supposed to land at 5:20. that won't be happening. philadelphia area travelers with trips booked to israel are left scrambling after the federal aviation administration pro hib its u.s. airlines from flying to that country for at least 24 hours. >> we have had plans for a while to go to israel, we're supposed to leave sunday night. we generally go every summer on a vacation. >> reporter: even a temporary ban won't stop nathan and his two kids who are already in israel. he says his plan vacation will now turn into something else. >> obviously we're concern about what is going on there and we want to show solidarity with the israelis. we definitely did not even consider changing our plans.

we're following breaking news right now in center city where evacuations are underway at sheraton hotel. this is brand new video from that hotel on north 17th street. "eyewitness news" has learned a circuit breaker blew in the basement and that caused smokey conditions in the small area of the hotel. as a precaution guests and employees' vac waited that hotel but this turns out to be

a circuit breaker and not an actual fire as reported by other media outlets. there is an unsolved mystery in new york, authorities are working to find out who put what appears to be a whitewashed american flag atop the brooklyn bridge. now police are investigating security breach to see how someone scaled the bridge getting past security. surveillance video shows light by the the flag flickering before it goes out, aluminum covers where those lights used to be but then getting to the top of the bridge could not be easy. access is only possible through a locked gate and quarter mile climb on a foot wide cable high above the east river. >> there is some indication of some good deal of preoperational planning, perhaps some indication that they have experience climbing in construction or in bridgework. >> new york city has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to secure its landmarks since 9/11 but someone managed to put 20-foot white flags on top of the bridge in this latest security
