lightning may to be blame for this fire at paradise farm camp in downingtown. employees on the campground say they saw a bolt of lightning strike around 1:15 this morning. then, their meeting house went up in flames. that meeting house just destroyed by the fire, everything except the chimney, we're told. fire officials are investigate the cause of that blaze. more problems to tell you about. let's give you live look from the 1200 block of walnut st. in center city where authorities had to evacuate an apartment building. all of that rain overnight damaged the roof then the rain seeped in, flooding the building. thirty-six residents had to evacuate. this all happened around 2:00 a.m. check out the picture from inside the building right here, all of that water actually damaged the building's alarm system. and that's a violation there, so the residents will not be allowed back in until repairs are made. telling you, a loft damage out there. let's check in with katie. >> yes, good morning, guys. at least we can say that the worse of the storms had since

made its retreat. yes, just goes to show what nature can produce here, a lot of issues for us. and even though the timing may have been on our side, relatively speaking, we're not going to have to deal with heavy storms during the morning rush hour thankfully. all of the problems that came along with it, sleepless nights, being one of the least of them, but then all of the other issues with flooding and severe weather now possibly even lightning strike. let's go actually back in time. we go back to yesterday, at 5:45 in the early evening here, where some of the storms begin to fire up, a lot of lightning right along the pa turnpike there, and they really just held together very well across southeastern pennsylvania, right up until about 10:00 p.m.

and we were just talking about that location in downingtown, we can jump ahead to 1:00 a.m. yep it, looks like there were definitely some lightning strikes, right within that reach, now, thankfully, here we stand at 5:00 a.m. things are pretty much quieting down at this point. we can put things into motion. look at the last three hours, yes, things actually starting to clear out for you. it isn't completely over just yet. i do think there may be shower or residual rumble every thunder out there before the day is all said and done, currently at seven open degrees at philadelphia international. upper 60s, reading, allentown, mid 60s up toward the poconos. not completely cooling down, as it the day progresses, temperatures top off mid 80s, so relief from yesterday's heat, humidity, but not completely done with the front. not until late tonight we start to feel more comfortable air mass settling, in meantime, residual shower or under this earl storm, but, bob, the worse is now thankfully over. >> yes, thank goodness. 5:02, morning, everybody. everybody may be little grumpy from not getting complete night sleep with all of the thunder boomers. outside all of the roads damp and wet, maybe puddle, have to use the wipers once or twice, pulling out of the driveway. once you hit the majors, good shape. live look at i59, through the construction zone, just watch it, until the sun begins to

rise, during the time when we get some heavy rain. it is tough to make out some of the temporary lane markers here as you head south on 95, down toward the city. going out to bucks county, live look at route one, up near the pennsylvania turnpike, interchange, again, no problems at all. but again, the roads are just drying out this morning. that closure in center sit that i we just showed you live picture from, walnut st. block between 12th and 13th. so market street would be the best bet coming into the city this early on a monday, with the storm last night, knocked out the traffic lights, at the boulevard and mascher. so there is no cross-traffic permitted at mascher street. downed wires, along upper stump road that's blocked at callowhill roadment and respect all of the closures that you will find this morning, they are therefore a reason, maybe a downed pole, maybe a tree, maybe a set of wires, or if there is flooding, there could be road damage, really not too sure about, so go around the block if the barriers are up. route ten blocked as well as todd road chester county. ukee, back to you. >> thank you.

philadelphia police questioning two persons every interest in connection with carjack that killed three children. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us now from police headquarters as she will bring you up to date on the investigation. syma? >> that's right. ukee, right now police are questioning two men considered persons of interest in this case. one of the men was pick up by police, last night, on the 2900 block of north sixth street. this after a community spent a weekend mourning the loss of three siblings. right now -- >> community comes together in prayer over the weekend, a vigil was held where three children were struck and killed by an out of control stolen suv. >> very good kids. >> fifteen year old key era williams, ten year old thomas reid, seven year olds terrence moore were selling fruit friday morning at the intersection of germantown and allegheny avenues. the suv that struck them was carjacked moments earlier with the carjacking victim still

inside. >> they had the female carjacking victim driving, at some point they forced her into the back seat where the black male was the driver, and the male in the rear passenger seat where the carjacking victim was. >> children's mother, 34 year old keisha williams cents was injured in the crash. she is in critical condition while the carjacking victim remains hospitalized in fair condition. there has been a $110,000 reward in place. the two men in custody are not considered suspects, but many are hoping who ever did this will be brought to justice. people who done it, and that, you know, you know that closure can come. >> again, the two men being questioned are considered persons of interest. so far no charges have been filed. live at police headquarters, syma chowdhry, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> same, a also developing this morning, philadelphia police are hunting for the person who opened fire in feltonville, shooting five people, one of those victims

died at the hospital. investigators tell us this all unfolded around midnight on the front porch of a home in the 4900 block of north front street. a second victim is in extremely critical condition. the other three are suffering from non-life threatening wounds, no word on a suspect or a motive. developing right now, the united nations security council wants israel and hamas to agree to cease-fire. the council met in a emergency session late last night. but, as susan macinnis reports, both sides are fighting again. the united nations security council called forest ray he will and hamas to put down their weapons during emergency midnight meeting. >> the security council expresses firm support for immediate and unconditional humanitarian cease-fire. >> overnight there was relative calm. the lull came after both sides resumed fighting sunday after a brief trues.

still are not sure what caused a local man to go on violent rampage killing his own son chis mother. a vigil was held yesterday morning just hours after it happened. police say tyrone styles arrived at home in the crumb lynn neighborhood saturday night. he was thereto pick up his son, when he sotted endly opened fire, the child died at the scene. his mother, was also critically injured. >> i'm just so sore that i this happened. it doesn't sound real. i watched him grow up. i watched her grow up. so (he) he it hurts. >> "eyewitness news" obtained this surveillance video of tyrone driving away from the scene. police chased him down to a dead ends in sharon hill where he turned the gun on himself. just last night, we're told, he was taken off life support. >> forty-nine year old rich art plotts formally charged with the murder every his social worker theresa hundred dollars and attempted murder every his psychiatrist doctor

>> we're following developing news after last night's strong storms. fire officials tell us, lightning may be to blame for this fire at parkside or rather paradise tamp, employees on the campgrounds say they heard roars of thunder all night long, then saw huge bolt of lightning strike around 1:15 this morning. >> shortly thereafter, we had a young camper staying in our whitesell camp down the hill in a overnight program get up to go to the bathroom and she ultimately yelled fire. >> now, that meeting house is destroyed, except for the chimney. although lightning is suspected fire officials tell us they are still investigating the cause. it is also a rough morning for residents of this philadelphia apartment building, as well, flooding for 36 people to evacuate the building on the 1200 block of walnut around 2:00 this morning. there were no injuries, but the residents will not be allowed back in until the damage alarm system can be
