"eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us now, she is at the crash scene in north fill which more, syma? >> reporter: suspect arraigned shortly before 2:00 this morning, preliminary hearing set for august 13th. officials credit their arrest for hard-working detective, determined to find the men responsible for killing three siblings.

>> i want to personally thank commissioner ramsey, captain clark, all of the men and women of the police department for their exceptional work in bringing these two to justice. >> district attorney seth williams uses strong words, to describe the men they say are responsible for killing 15 year old kira williams, ten year old joseph read, and seven year old terrence moore. >> this cell phone video shows police taking corneilius crawford into custody on the 2900 block of north sixth street. the second suspect, 19 year old jonathan rosa, turned himself in sunday, with his mother and pastor by his side, making a full confession to police. >> have been charged with murder, sexual assault, numerous other charges. police say they randomly target add realtor when they carjacked her. the suspects are accused of sexually assaulting her in the car when a tire blew sending the stolen suv into the fruit stand where the children were trying to raise money for

their church. records show, crawford had been released on parole in april 2013, after serving half of a five to 13 year sentence for robbery. the parole board siting in its decision, crawford demonstrated motivation for success. for neighbors, there is little consolation for the arrest. >> that mother still got to to wake up and find her babies are gone. >> children's mother and the realtor remain hospitalized this morning. a vigil here, at the corner of germantown and allegheny avenue has been set for this evening, at 6:00 p.m. live in north philadelphia, syma chowdhry, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". same, a thank you. now, new this morning, 58 year old man is recovering at the hospital after he was stabbed multiple times inside a west philadelphia home overnight. this was the scene as investigators searched for clues on the 6100 block every west columbia avenue. police took one man into custody, and say the motive for the attack appears to be domestic in nature. a driver is dead after his

suv catapults into the delaware river, as horrified eyewitnesses look on. happened shortly before 6:00 last night on penn's landing. we're told the driver of this black suv lost control and he came down the ramp from chestnut street, to columbus boulevard. police say driver fleeing an accident at fourth and arch and arch streets in old sit. >> i it was a craziest thing i've ever seen. looks like something you see in a movie. >> i'm at loss of words right now. >> thank god, no function coming on, that ramp would have been crowd philadelphia would have been a lot worse. no one else was hurt. two good samaritans and officer all jumped into the river to save the 36 year old driver, but, it was too late. the crash remains under investigation. right now, 5:03. want to head out to the skydeck, katie fehlinger, do you node a jacket this morning do you think? >> you know, it is a little cool outside. i won't lie. but i think most locations you

trough after trough, in other words, cool front after cool front building in, helping to create these very strong storm systems, and led to different severe weather incidents. currently in at 66 degrees at the airport, 58 in allentown, # five up in mount pocono, obviously little cooler throughout lying suburbs like quakertown, doylestown, for example, as the day goes on, check out the poconos, may not even hit 70 degrees today. that cool. but we should get you to 80 in the city, regardless, everybody gets in on some sun, it is pleasant, it is low in terms of humidity, so bob as i send it into you, looks like good hair day, looking good, buddy. >> feels great, maybe roll down the window, open up the sun roof on your way to work this morning. quick tour downtown we go. the vine expressway, no problems or delays at all coming into or out of the city, all of the roads are dry this morning. let's take live look, northeast philadelphia, good

morning to you. ninety-five here, southbound on the right, heading through the construction zone at both cottman and girard. light volume so far this morning, now, do have couple every accidents in the neighborhoods, route 309, to bethlehem pike, welsh rd., movie theater there at the traffic signal, just watch for some police at that intersection. also, an accident in delaware, the old baltimore pike, that's blocked being just off of route 896. so if your honor headed out early this morning, route 40 would be your best bet. and a crash just outside of lansdale, doylestown road, at claire mount drive. otherwise, if you are leaving the house in south jersey, you're in good shape. no problems at all on the major roadways in south jersey, mass transit running with no delays. erika, back over to you. >> bob, thank you. developing right now, israeli forces pound gaza in the heaviest night of attacks in three weeks of fighting. the latest round of violence comes as israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu, he warnings his people to prepare for prolonged campaign.

announce what caused this train to derail and leak chemicals into the mantua creek in paulsboro. you probably remember that stone from back in november of 2012. the train caring hazardous material derailed, sending several cars into the creek. one of those cars released about 20,000 gallons of vinyl chloride, that's toxic. we'll let you know when the ntsb announces later on today. today wilmington council votes to make cuts to the city fire department. mayor vetoed the council's plan to slash more than half million dollars from the fire department's budget. that would eliminate eight vacant positions. council members plan to vote tonight to override that veto. your time is 5:09. wilds shoot-out in new york city, why police opened fire on a man in a crowded neighbhborhood. >> wick weather on opposite side of the country. tornados and roads are washed out. we'll show you some of the worse damage.

pretty close to that tornado, one every three twist that's touched down in the denver area yesterday. another one came dangerously close to the airport, but look at just how big that is. the storm ripped the roofs off of some buildings, but, no one was hurt. right now, 5:13. katie, pretty calm down for us, right? >> thankfully. we certainly had our fair share of strong storms, through the last couple of nights, but more than anything, i feel like one of our biggest weather issues this summer has been lightning. that said, thankfully, not specking any thunderstorms to bring us any additional lightning out there today. but we are seeing some cool air get sort of wedged in here so may be more clouds, but nice day unfolding. we take you out there. show this nice wide zoom. can actually make out the retreat of the same storm that brought in severe weather that we just saw video from, but also it, brought us our stormy weather two nights ago, meanwhile, we are in the clear at this point, as i like to say, we do again have couple every clouds, you can already see the thin vale of cloud

mystery in oregon while a mother vanishes. busy searching for jennifer houston. mother of two disappeared thursday after she stopped to fill up for gas outside portland. her husband made an emotional plea for help yesterday. >> she is a devoted mother. she is just a very good person. and for her to -- for her to do something like this is completely out of the norm. >> police say they have surveillance video of houston stopping at an atm before going to that gas station. a few minutes after that, though, her cell phone stopped working. a shoot-out in manhattan's grenitch village ends with child molester dead, three law enforcement officers wounded of the charles was on the run for two years, but fugitive

warmer up to 84 degrees, with sunshine, come thursday, we continue the warming trend here. there may be a shower or storm around. but generally it is looking partly sunny. bob, over to you. >> 5:24, late running construction crew causing for ellie morning traffic jam. live look here at i59 northbound, backed up, approaching route 420. all because that far late running crew you will loose couple of minutes of time coming to the south and headed north up i95 now, crews also have been working all on the overnight on the schuylkill expressway, milling that stretch, between spring garden and 30th street, as you come into downtown, today, you are going to feel the speed bump around spring garden street. then rocky road as you roll into the tunnels there at 30th street. otherwise, the bridges look fine, mass transit looking good with no delays. here's ukee now with a look at sports. >> and the eagles have the day off today. but they'll resume training camp tomorrow. yesterday, the team's first practice in full pads, the birds had a scuffle on the
