. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and today is tuesday, august 5th, good morning, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm natasha brown. here are some of the stories we're following today. house collapses after a car crashes into it in camden. >> three days after a three year old girl is gun down while sitting on a porch. a second suspect is behind bars. >> and israel and hamas hit the pause button on violence in the middle east. now it is back to the negotiating table. those stories and much more coming up this morning, right now we start with your forecast, and the heat looks like it will be on today? >> i could tell just wacking out this morning. humid, i thought. >> let's check in with katie. >> it is a pretty quiet start to the day. nice and mild. more like august, that's

really the bottom line. >> season be? >> exactly, little more than that. >> oh, little more? >> little more than that, yes. no heat advisories, nothing like, that but it will get very, very warm outside today. because we are dealing with high pressure to place, a weak dome of high pressure, but enough to allow the wind to sort of slacken up, it means that grounds level ozone can become more of an issue. there are air quality alerts we have to talk about, yes, ukee was right, heating. many talking temperatures as well, full details in the next few minutes, guys, back to you. >> kate, thank you very much. car slams into south jersey home causing large portion of the builds to go come crashing down. >> first responders rescued two people from underneath the pile of rubble. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry at the scene in camden, where clean up efforts are underway, syma, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, police firefighters and rescue teams were working all night to secure the area and take down whatever was left after a house collapsed. now, authorities brought in an excavator to knock down the home, we do have video

whatever it looked like earlier this morning. driver lost control of the car and drove into a house on the corner of linden and north tenth street. there were two people inside the car when it slammed into the house. now, it happened a little before 11:00 last night. both people in the car were taken to cooper hospital. we are working to get an update on their condition. now, after the car struck the home, the house collapsed. that's when crews returned to the scene to secure the area, and safely take down whatever was left of the house. now, back here, at the scene, there has been some debris and rubble left from that clean up. no word when the crews will return to clean the rest of it up, and it is not known if the house was occupied at the time, right now, wait to go get an update from police. but, we do know, again, two people were taken to cooper hospital. their conditions unknown at this time. live in camden, syma chowdhry, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". syma, thank you. it was a long night, meantime,

for firefighters battling house fire in delaware county, take a look at these eyewitness photos. crews were dispatched to the scene on calmly lane in chaddsford about 11:00 last night. officials say firefighters had very difficult time getting those flames under control because the home was back in the woods and didn't have access to any hydrants. no injuries were reported. let's check on traffic and weather together. 4:33, katy? >> good morning, that the tasha. good morning, everybody, storm scan3 as you might imagine pretty quiet right now, a loft times we get these little speckles evergreen that tends to show up. not actually picking up on any precipitation. rather, what it is, is look how ground clutter, sometimes the radar just that strong, it can't pick up on dust, it can pick up on particles, can pick up on birds, believe it or not, flying through the sky, no wet weather out there at the moment. but, we are eventually going to be dealing with some by tomorrow, specially, meantime, just going to heat up, weaver couple of clouds, higher up in the atmosphere out there right now, i don't think fog will be

as much after concern, but air quality will be, and notice, we have couple every counties shaded in the gray here, indicating that you will have higher levels today of ground level ozone. so through southeastern pa, chester, montgomery, bucks, delco, philadelphia county, all of delaware, right now no new jersey counties included here, the bottom line is just play it safe. if you may be working landscaping, working construction, town outside, air mass that can be unhealthy for you. make sure you're smart about it, frequent breaks, all of that is important today. seventy-one meantime is the current temperature at the airport, probably drop another degrees before the sun comes up, starts to heat things back up. fifty-seven in mount pocono. you had a chance to cool down pretty nicely, offer to nice cool and comfortable start. but the skies generally do stay clear here today. it will be steamy. as we heat up easily, flirting with 90 by 3:00 p.m. i think actually we will get there before it is said and done. this is the stuff the dog days are made of. but it is going to be a spell of heat that lasts pretty sure

reconstruction and widening project between lansdale and mid-county. new project began yesterday, will tie us up again today, county line road, repaving between 611 and york road. and the patco high-speed line, they changed up their schedule. they have two different schedules, one monday through thursday, then weekend schedule the monday through thursday schedule, changed as of yesterday. so make sure to grab new timetable as you wait for the train this morning. natasha, back to you. >> thanks, bob. cease-fire does appear to be holding in the middle east. here is live look at gaza, israel's military says it is to has withdrawn all forces from gaza by the cease-fire three and a half hours ago. the united states urging hamas and israel to extends agreement to extends who is it will tis for the next three days, but israel and hamas say talks held in kai rob will be challenging because bode sites have demands. and philadelphia police, they have second suspect in custody this morning, in

connection with a deadly shooting in grays ferry to left three year old little girl deadment investigators say they took 22 year old brandon roughin into custody about 10:00 last night. douglas woods also faces murder charges in connection with friday's shooting. three year old boream caught in crossfire, three other adults were shot. >> three of the six philadelphia police officers charge in the corruption probe will soon be out on bail. judge has granted bail to officers perry bets, lynnewood norman, brian reynolds, all six facing charges including racketeering, conspiracy, robbery, kidnapping, drug dealing. >> move for detention, which they had a right to do, indicate interesting was a danger to the community, and we presented evidence today that the judge obviously believed -- >> two other indicted officers thomas, and michael spicer, were ordered held in pre-trial

despite big push in harrisburg, philadelphia schools no closer to getting funds interesting proposed cigarette tax. educators rallied at the state captor, while governor corbett met behind closed doors with gop leaders. no deal to bring the house back in session to vote on the 2-dollar per pack tax. and that money would help cover the district's $81 million budget gap. >> anything short of that will be -- will force 1300 potential layoffs and class sizes to be approximately 41 and the potential for school not to open in september. >> well, governor corbett says he will consider advancing the district's money to help schools open on time at least.

very mild start "skycam 3", and everywhere else. storm scan3, as we go there next, you can actually see the squeeze play. high pressure, weak dome of high pressure, still keeping control. our same stalled front is still out there. but thankfully it is removed from our area at this point, and then you have got the next cold front that will eventually be moving on through, helping to bring back lower humidity. also, still tracking bertha out there. in the open waters of the atlantic, and we do expect that this storm is going to continue to remain well out to sea. but, it is going to i think create some choppy surf for us. so while still remains a hurricane at this hour, tropical models as they move along here, again, keep the storm well out to sea, so not going to have to worry about it, but because large storm, even just couple of hundred miles away it, will churn up the surf, create higher waves. so i know the surfers love there is but please be smart, if you go to the shore. specially tuesday into wednesday. that's when the storms going to be making its closest pass, maybe even as late as

against the bears out in chicago, now the birds release their first depth chart of training camp it shows mark sanchez at number two quarterback behind starter nick foles, and ahead of matt barkley. recently acquired quarterback nolan carol, top kick returner. coaches are noticing carol's strong camp. >> he drives himself every day. basically empty at the moment. meanwhile, i think we will finally tack on another 09 degrees day to the running total. so far, in the year 2014, 14 days have hit 90 or above. and we are far behind the standards last set in the early 20-teens here. so we have some catching to up do. see if we can, we have a longmont of august coming up here, but it won't be anything but one, 09-degree day in the next three, but there you have t hot, steamy, sunny today, feeling like the dog days, by tomorrow next colds front comes along, may not be the strongest colds fronts we've ever seen it, will knock the temperatures back, by thursday, actually end up with real nice weather. and i have to tell you, thursday is going to be jumping offer point for what looks to be real nice stretch of days. so some lovely weather coming up once we get through the next two days, again, hot steamy initially, then eventually some stormy weather moves through by tomorrow. giles, we send it back to you. >> thank you, here is a look at stories our sister station "kyw news radio 1060" will be following for you.
