charges for services. chaka fattah junior, offered alternative educational services through his company to the philadelphia school district. but a 31 page federal indictment now claims that the bills to the school district were filled with inflated salary figures. fictitious benefits and non-existing, employees for which school district paid approximately more than $957,000. >> the the indictment merely alleged that the school district essentially was lied to about how much money they spent to provide those services. >> reporter: the indictment also charges fattah, junior with making, false bank loan applications, and tax returns to repay, personal expenses. $17,500 to pay gambling debts at sugar house casino. 16,000 to pay down gambling debt at harrah's casino. >> it is been covered in the press that we search fattah's

ocean water warmed up to 74. we are clear for now but showers and storms heading towards central pennsylvania, and we are in for some of those, tomorrow afternoon. they will break the heat. right now we are tracking berta, you can see maximum sus pained winds at 50 miles an hour moving north north east at 21 miles an hour. it is within 300 miles of cape may but it is moving, further away. it will continue to be guided by that stationary front, and accelerate towards the the north east. it will not be a threat to land obviously but impacts down the shore will continue. coming up, we will talk about those shore concerns for tomorrow, and through much of the rest of the week, plus tracking the storms that will move in the delaware valley tomorrow. i'll have that later in the broadcast when i join you inside. >> kathy, thanks very much. two people are recovering tonight after their car slams in the house caution it to collapse. all this happened late last night, on linden and north tenth street in, camden, new jersey. a portion of that house collapsed down on to the car, critically injuring one of two

"eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao is their life with the very latest, jan? >> reporter: well, chris, police have just identified that suspected intruder here, more information on him, in just a minute but first, this should have have been a routine visit from the home owner here in stanton, police say he check on the property pretty much every day. right now in one lives here. home owner is renovate bug this time when she arrived she found an uninvited guest and he left with an a unexpect injury. it is more activity then this home on west new port pike in stanton has seen. for hours tuesday morning delaware state police were busy collecting evidence after police say a woman here in new castle county, caught a man sleeping in her home, conn noted him and shot him during

a scuffle. >> all better for it. >> reporter: shooting happened just before 6:00 o'clock in the morning, this home owner and her son were checking the now vacant property. it belonged to her father before he died and neighbors say she was renovating. when the pair arrived they noticed lights were off which were unusual and once inside they discovered a man sleeping in the second floor bedroom. police now, identified that man as 21 year-old gregory alexander whom they say is homeless. >> there was a physical confrontation, between the female home owner, her son, and the male subject. >> reporter: it turns out that the home owner had a handgun with her and investigators say she shot the suspects in the buttocks before he ran away. police caught up to him just a few blocks away and took him in custody, at this point police say it is unclear if alexander was just a squatter. >> he was asleep in the house, so it may look that way but we are unsure at this point. >> reporter: but neighbors had their suspicions. >> the the house, is just

future. our, forecast map shows bertha well off shore, within 300 miles, and moving out to sea, and then a cold front approaching from the north and west. during the day tomorrow that front gets closer, we will have have an afternoon shower or thunderstorm with temperatures in the 80's and after that it is noticeably more comfortable. high pressure dives down from can inadequacies, air is dry, skies will be sunny, temperatures will be in the 80's. it stays very comfortable for friday, even into the day on saturday when we will get into a nice sunny stretch. but even though bertha is hundreds of miles off shore into departing area, we run risk of dangerous rip currents. that threat will go through wednesday, and possibly even elevate, wednesday afternoon. it will still be at least moderate for thursday. so please avoid those beaches and the water when guards go off-duty. we will show so waves, you yourself can detect and see a rip current when at the the beach. we have all this water that is piling up with all of this wave action, what happens is, too much water is moving in, and it doesn't have have time to pull out, properly, and

that is how the rip current actually forms. here's a look at how you can find one, on the beach look for channel of choppy water or water that is a different color then the rest. even a break in the wave pattern and you will be able to see rip current of course, life guards can as well, near jetties they will form quickly and easily and stay safe while down the shore and on vacation. we want to remind you of something going on this week, the meteor shower, it is annual viewer. it is debris from the comet swift cut will. it will look like shooting stars. just getaway from the city lights and you will see 40 to 50 meeters an hour. it peaks this weekend. skies will be clear. guess what we have the super moon coming up on sunday, and that will limit the view, of the meteor shower. so this week will be great viewing for that. tonight will be partly cloud which a low of 71. wednesday after an noon shower or storm. after that we are in the comfort zone, look at these numbers. temperatures in the mid 80's, low humidity, plenty of sunshine just a chance of the
