and robert belajonas but they do not know just yet if keith belajonas is the biological father. their mother was found fatally shot in the second floor apartment. right now they are looking for the man keith belajonas. they say he is armed, dangerous, possibly with two semiautomatic weapons. again they are looking for a man named keith belajonas. they say he drove off with two young boys after the shooting, this happened on the 200 block of abby terrace around 2:30 this morning. police found woman in her 30's in the second floor apartment and she was shot once in the head, she may have been stabbed as well. neighbors told police they heard a scuffle before seeing belajonas leave with the two boys age four and six. police say belajonas is from new york and he may head there right now with the children. i talk to one neighbor off camera and they say that they believe the family has been here for less than a year. this is what superintendent michael chitwood had to say

earlier. >> one of the children, states his mommy dead, mommy dead and out the door they will go. >> reporter: that is what one neighbor told police he heard right after a gun went off. police are looking for keith belajonas who they say killed his wife and took off with their two children. police were called to the 200 block of abby terrace around 2:30. they found a with man shot once in the head and may have been stabbed as well. neighbors told police they heard a scuffle before seeing belajonas leave the apartment with the two little boys around the age of four and six. police say that the couple had been married since 2011 and belajonas fridays staten island or long island and he may be headed this right new with the children. belajonas is driving a gray 2006 nissan path finder with pennsylvania license plate number j.d. h-7477. i talked to one neighbor off camera who told me family lived here for less than a year and just two days ago

"eyewitness news". authorities are also investigating two suspicious deaths in montgomery county. the officers conducted a welfare check on an elderly couple living on the 100 block of linfield road in trap last night when police discovered couples bodies. pennsylvania state police will release more details later this morning. new this morning fire fighters worked to gain upper hand in camden. fire broke out 1:30 on spruce and douglass streets. crew as arrived on the scene three homes were fully engulfed. no injuries were reported in that fire, the causes still under investigation. man is rush to the hospital following a shooting in hunting park, police responded to the call of the shots fired around # 1:00 last night on the 4500 block have of north fourth street. they found a 28 year-old victim shot in the stomach. he was taken to temple hospital in critical condition. police continue to search for the the shooter and a motive in this case.

good morning in, we're following breaking news in delaware county. there is a manhunt right now for this man. police say he killed his wife and new there is an amber alert for their two missing sons. the childr have been identified as christopher and robert belajonas. >> "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us at that scene in drexel hill and she has been there all morning long, syma, what is the latest. >> reporter: police identified this man as keith belajonas. they say he is armed and dangerous. they believe he killed his wife and took off with their two young children. as you can see investigators are ready to go inside the apartment. they say woman was found fatalry shot and two boys were taken by the husband. again he has been identified as keith belajonas and he is

vincent hughes held a hearing on that tax and he is democratic chair of the senate appropriations committee and he joins us this morning. >> good morning. >> can you give us an update on the hearing and where things stan right now. >> what we wanted to do with the hearing, we had the mayor, a great parent of masterman and david hardy the head of the boys charter school just to tell us what happened last year with the level of fund ago this we had and what a loss of fund would go mean for this year. we were barely an ad quitely funded and i think that might be even pushing the envelope with our schools, almost 40 kids in the classroom, not enough nursing, not enough counselors, in the enough really anything going on in our schools. if we don't get extra dollars, it will be far less than that. i am in full agreement with doctor hite how do you consider opening up schools in an environment like that. >> how did it get to this point. >> the philadelphia school district has been behind for

decades in terms of funding, like mostly income school district, philadelphia school district 80 percent of the kids are below federal movement poverty level. real difficult challenge. suburban districts around philadelphia, $20,000 a kid, philadelphia school district, $13,000 a child. you really cannot do something adequately with the challenging that the kids bring to the table. we need something dramatic to happen. the cigarette tax, which is just on people who buy cigarettes inside the city of philadelphia, just on those folks will drive an extra 83 million-dollar toward educational system and that just gets us back to where we were last year which again many folks say is not even good enough. >> you have represented district seven for 20 years now have you seen a crisis like this before. >> not as intense as this. it has never got then bad. it has been over a billion dollars of cuts in education in the last four years unfortunately under this

governor. school district of philadelphia has felt a brunt of that. over 400 million-dollar of that has happened right inside the school district. we don't fund education appropriately. you don't have enough dollars going in the system. we're running a summer reading program right now, 300 kids, because for last couple weeks they have been coming to my school reading, right. but, they are excited bit. they are enthusiastic about it. but we are seeing challenging these kids are bringing. we are not servicing the way they deserve to be served. >> you mentioned it will take a dramatic resolution, how dramatic what do you see. >> i am fearful, i am fearful that the house won't take the action necessary before september to get us back for the cigarette tax. that puts district in jeopardy. it really does. what the governor did was advance fund, dollars already committed. so that means there is a hole

somewhere in the district budget, maybe december, january, something along that line and again that is not fair to our kids. that is not what we should be preparing. >> it was bitter sweet yesterday then. >> i'm in the sure there was much sweet in that bitter sweet. >> i hear you. >> again these are our children. all businesses say if they don't have have a strong educated work force they are not going to survive. new business relocating to philadelphia don't ask about the tax structure they ask the quality of the education being provided to their children. >> do you see cigarette tax a permanent solution or temporary one. >> it is part of what needs to be a long term solution. local dollars stepping up but the state has got to do more. we have to readjust education formula, drive more dollars towards philadelphia kids and all children across the the state of pennsylvania get fair and adequate. it is just not fair. these kids don't deserve this. >> keep everybody updated. >> thanks very much.

thanks for joining us. updating our breaking nws from delaware county police are searching for keith belajonas a suspect in the death of his wife in drexel hill earlier this morning. amber alert is also in effect, belajonas is believed to have two young children with him, believed to be driving a gray nissan pathfinder. also in the news this morning pennsylvania state police say they will have much more information later on today on suspicious deaths of an elderly couple in trap, montgomery county. the couple's bodies were found late last night in the home on lin field road. three buildings were damaged by a fast moving two alarm fire in camden. it broke out at spruce and douglass street at 1:30 this morning. we're told there were no
