. today is monday, august 11, good morning i'm ukee washington. >> i'm erica von tiehl. stories we're following today funeral today for 46 year old connie mcclane murray, day after her husband confessed to strangling her at pennypack park. we're live with the details. >> still no word on whether criminal charges will be filed against race car driver, tony stewart, stewart struck and killed another driver after that driver got out of his car, to confront him this weekend. >> and, for the first time ever, philadelphia sends a little league time to the world series. the taney dragons won on national tv last night clinching a spot in williamsport, we're soaks cited for them. >> that was a great double

"eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry at police headquarters right now to tell you more. syma? >> reporter: that's right, police say the person who confess today connie mcclane murray's murder was someone who they say was a person of interest since the investigation began. police say connie mcclane

murray's killer was her own husband, christopher murray. police brought him in for questioning saturday night after failing a lie detector test, he confessed to murdering his wife. police say the couple was arguing monday night after connie went for a jog in pennypack park. her body was discovered tuesday morning. now, murray called police three hours after the attack, to report her missing. but he never called her friends or family. >> there are certain parts of his story that just didn't add up. didn't seem, a story about his wife was missing but contacted nobody, no friends no family, to find out if she was with them instead immediately went to hospitals, and went to the police stations, seemed almost a show, the concerned husband show. >> and connie mcclane murray leaves behind two teenage daughters. her funeral will be held later today. live at police headquarters, syma chowdhry, cbs-3

here on the benny coming into downtown, once in center city, good to go, no problems at all on the vine st. expressway between i95 and the schuylkill, we do have accident on the roosevelt boulevard, southbound roosevelt boulevard right at seventh street. it is an overturned vehicle that's blocking the outer drive so south down toward broad, your best bet stay to the inner drive be ready to hit the brakes as you slow on down. coming in toward philadelphia on the 42 freeway always going to see a lot of extra volume on monday in the summertime, a lot of folks like to stay down the shore an extra evening, and come right from the beach right into the city, but so far so good this morning. and if you are leaving the shore right now good shape along the atlantic city expressway parkway and no problems up and down 295. erika, back to you. >> thank you developing right now, public outrage on the streets of a st. louis suburb after unarmed teen is shot and killed by police. some new video into "eyewitness news" shows people rioting and looting overnight in ferguson, missouri, i believe this is the video

authorities say 18 year old michael brown assaulted an officer before shot saturday night. but some say he was already surrounded ends erring when the officer fired his gun. the officer involved had been placed on administrative leave. >> two row homes in the strawberry mansion section fire. 2700 block of north 24th street. firefighters quickly got the blaze under control. one person suffered minor injury. the red cross is assisting two people who were left homeless. well, just nasty roll-over crash this morning on the boulevard, sends two people to the hospital. "eyewitness news" in the hunting park section where police tell us, one car t bone the other at wyoming avenue. two men were taken to the hospital in stable condition. no word yet on their specific injuries. also, new this morning police are investigating an attempted robbery in northeast philadelphia. "eyewitness news" on the scene of the 1700 block of gill forward street. investigators say, two men tried to rob someone at

gunpoint around 11:30 last night. one of the suspects, though, did not get very far. police say he shot himself in the leg while running away. police are still searching for the second suspect. tragedy strikes the world of nascar after a deadly crash in up-state new york. tony stewart was competing in a sprint race saturday, a sprint car race there is was saturday night at motorsports park. now, during the race he caused another driver, kevin wards to spin out. ward got out of his car right there in the middle of the track. that's when he was struck by stewart's car. the incident being investigated by authorities. >> as we speak at this time, there is no evidence in hand or no facts that would support a criminal charge or support criminal intent. >> stewart was also supposed to race in a competition yesterday; how much, he

some unclear why that ride stopped in the first place. latest on ebola outbreak, missionaries returning to the u.s. after infected patients will be put in quarantine and monitored. missionaries are with the same north carolina aid group as nancy, at emory university hospital in atlanta. this after contracting ebola in liberia. the north carolina department of health and human services says the quarantine will last at least three weeks. and, it looks like a hawaii is dodge ago hurricane, this is the damage left behind by tropical storm iselle. hit the big islands friday knocking out power, toppling trees, now it seems that hurricane julio is going to steer clear of the island altogether. it is moving away right now has been downgraded to category one hurricane. took a whallop for hawaii, damage there, the flooding. >> absolutely, obviously very mountain us islands too so they can get flooding and mudslides and just terrible
