tone day. heavier rain has shifted to the south and east and you can see heavy rain and thunderstorms moving over portions of eastern maryland. we will zoom in on that in a moment. but first let's show you light showers moving to the pocono region and strong thunderstorms back in the western half of the state, as well and all of this still has to push through, tonight, before we can get this system out of here. so zooming in an area i'm seeing how help put this skies hearing and kent county, delaware. as this line develops in eastern maryland it continues to move east. it is intensifying quite a bit as there is heat and humidity here. watch out for strong storms especially in southern kent county and portions of sussex county, delaware later this evening. the rest of the region is seeing heavy rain right here near dover at the moment and it is also, just poised to move into southern cape may county. in cape may, stone harbor, avalon, get ready for heavier rain to start up here this evening. maybe time for some seafood take out down the shore this evening. not, a great beach daze today. we have had heavy rain. but what we have not had is severe weather. even though one of these

city officials and casino workers wondering about their future. "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao is live in ac tonight, and jane, revel will close september 10th, what then. >> reporter: well, chris, then revel goes into foreclosure, and then it goes up for auction where it will be likely sold at a bargain basement price, and then it is up to the new own tore decide what happens next to this building. regardless thinks a huge blow for atlantic city because when revel closes its doors for good it gets rid of more than 3,000 jobs. for tourist, watching revel close will be a disappointment. >> it is the jewel of the boardwalk. >> reporter: but for 3100 employees who will be out of the job next month the closure is devastating. >> trying to find another job so that we can maintain our bills. >> reporter: after two years and filing for bankruptcy twice $29.4 billion casino that never turn a profit was unable to find a qualified buyer in bankruptcy court. company officials released a

or know anything that could help in the investigation, you are asked to give vineland police a call. just a couple hours ago we have learned new details about the death of robin williams. the six three-year old actor hanged himself in his home near san francisco. authorities say that williams wife had left the house in the morning thinking her husband was still asleep. it wasn't until williams personal assistant got in to to that room that his body was discovered. >> the personal assistant was able to gain access to mr. williams bedroom and entered the bedroom to find mr. williams clothed in a seated position unresponsive with a belt secured around his neck with the other end of the belt wedged between the clothes closet door and the door frame. >> reporter: investigators say williams was struggling with severe depression and had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. one of the robin williams most memorable rolls was as an unorthodox english teacher in dead poet's society.

this year the federal government expects 60,000 undocumented child immigrants to enter school district around the the country, double the number from last year. some will be coming to philadelphia, but how can a city handle them. our iteam reporter charlotte huffman has this "eyewitness news" exclusive. >> reporter: iteam cameras were allowed to video these children as long as we don't though their faces. they are immigrants from central america who have left their families behind this year and crossed the border. now in the hands of the federal government, they will attend philadelphia schools this fall. >> philadelphia. >> reporter: they say that they like it here, much better then the gang violence ridden streets many of them left behind. >> part of the challenges that they face here after lot to do with what they faced before they left their home countries. >> reporter: kathy tillman runs a philadelphia non-profit that provides counseling to undocumented child immigrants. >> often times they come with very disruptive education or

no education at all. so when they come here they are coming with pretty big bags of challenges. >> reporter: these children will require extra counseling, and english as a second language programs, and not all parents are happen bye it. >> i definitely think that it should not happen and i don't think my child should have to be on the pole. >> reporter: pennsylvania schools will to have make room for almost 400 undocumented immigrants this fall. in delaware that number is more than a hundred. and in new jersey, more than 1500. in all, that is enough to fill 70 classrooms, just like this one. despite budget cuts and a 81 million-dollar short fall, philadelphia school district spokesperson ferdinand go guyard says 230 teaches devoted to helping teachers like these won't change. >> we have not cut the budget for teachers in the last three years. so our services continue to be the same for students. >> we asked education officialness new jersey and in

competitors which includes brooklyn, columbus, birmingham, and phoenix. well, on the cbs-3 healthwatch tonight, the ice bucket challenge, it is a social media sensation at this point. the video have have led to the surge in donation for als research. als being lou gehrig's disease. >> three on your side health reporter stephanie stahl is joining us with why this is so important to researchers in the area. >> reporter: it is fun but is there a serious side to this. lou gehrig's disease also known as als is a neuro degenerative disease that effects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, eventually, leading to paralysis, and death. there is no effective treatment. but the local researchers are trying to change that, along with joining in, this latest, social media, trend. >> here we go. >> wow. >> reporter: one by one researchers at thomas jefferson university weinberg unit for als research participated in the ice bucket challenge.

>> it is very cold, and very terrible but it is for a good cause. >> very refreshing i'd say. >> it is cold but it is awesome. >> reporter: it is a simple idea take bucket of ice, take a bucket of it record it and post the video on social media, challenging another group of people to to the same within 24 hours. either do it or donate $10 to als research or don't do it and donate $100 to the cause. >> today, we challenged the entire jefferson community to rally, around us to bring awareness of als and to really, put the name of als out there. >> reporter: thinks a fun outdoor challenge, inside the lobbies a more serious, important challenge. >> it is very important, that this disease has no cure. we need to keep doing research to help these patient was this disease, to get towards a cure. >> reporter: researchers are currently trying to get a better understanding of the very complicated, fatal disease in hopes of developing targeted therapy, the ice bucket challenge will help pay for their research.
