region together during a remarkable run to the world series. we have live team coverage tonight. we'll begin with "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers live in williamsport. matt? >> reporter: chris you said it yourself. what a run for these taney dragons. finally coming to an end here in williamsport this evening. they fell just short of reaching the us championship game that would have been played on saturday. tonight they lost by a final score of six to five to the good team from chicago here in the stadium just behind me. we have some footage to show you from the game a little bit earlier tonight and what a game it was. started well for the team from philadelphia with zion spear man knocking in two runs in the top of the first inning. but things well they quickly took a turn for the worse in the bottom of the first chicago came to bat they got four runs in that inning and would go up by a score of sick-two in the neck inning taney would not quit and kept chipping away at the lead as tie comings of the dragons smashed a homerun in the top of

the fifth to bring the lead down to one. they came to bat in the top of the sixth the final inning here and had two on and two outs when a pop out to right field ended the game. but this run really has been nothing short of incredible and this team has every reason to keep their heads held high. manager alec rice talk to the players on the field after the game and told reporters what he said to them afterwards. >> i told them i was incredibly proud of them and thanked them for the best summer of my life. >> great job. you got beyond your expectations you didn't expect to be here. that is was always something we'll try to make a run at this and look where you ended up. >> no one expected this, right. it was just a fun ride with really amazing kids. better parents and siblings. i mean, i wouldn't have -- you couldn't script it. >> i'm proud of him. and we'll have wonderful memories and i'm going to miss all the other family members too.

we'll see what we'll put together from here on. but it was great ride and the kids should be really proud of them and i certainly am. >> reporter: the parents we spoke to say one of the hot hardest things moving forward these kids won't get to play together again. they baking spent an and tire summer together every waking moment over the last three or four weeks or so. we are hearing word from manager alec rice that he certainly doesn't want to leave williamsport and he doesn't have an official headcount yet most of the kids don't want to leave either. they have free place to stay through the weekend. remains to be seen when exactly they will go home but when they return to philadelphia, there's no doubt they'll be coming home to hero's welcome. what a run here in william port. chris, back to you in the studio studio. >> matt rivers for us. thanks for all your coverage out there. >> it cattle pulled mo'ne davis to stardom even on the on the cover of sports illustrated. this is a 13 year old girl. tonight her fans and her friends

>> well there was some rain in williamsport earlier tonight and now there are some storms rumbling through parts of our area. they could stick around into the overnight hours. let's turn to meteorologist kate bilo in for kathy tonight and tracking what's next. kate. >> thanks, chris. we've been watching these storms developing pretty much all night long and you can see the heaviest has been off in our northern suburb portions of buck county as well as northampton and even monroe county up through the poconos now the heaviest storms have pushed into northern jersey sussex county getting hit hard tonight. got another area developing over portions of extreme south jersey. let's zoom in and see what we're dealing with here. start off to the north where again you can see heavy rain moving through portions still of eastern northampton counsel too and into northern jersey and another cell just developed over portions of north central bucks county north of doylestown. ooh want to call your attention to this storm report. this is a hail report from earlier tonight around 9:25 p.m. in spring town, buck county hail over three quarters of an inch in diameter was reported

there. that is large, severe hail capable of damaging perhaps cars and roofs out there this evening. we've also got another line of storm along coastal come brrr land county around marries riff, laurel lake and perhaps no millville in the next half hour or so. so future weather through the overnight hours, keeps the storms around. you can see they're going to be moving through during the overnight hours. they will eventually fizzle out boo early friday morning but we could wake up to some showers in spots across the region. 9am friday we start to clear it out and storms refire by late friday afternoon. coming up i'll tell you if the wet weather hangs around into the weekend. for now chris back over to you. >> thank you very much. >> police from districts across the city are looking for two men tonight. their mo they follow victims home from the bank and they rob them.
