says prayers are continuing at all local synagogues. we are live, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> cleve, thank you. a new jersey man says he was brutally attacked by philadelphia police for in reason and now he is taking the department for court. new at 6:00 tonight he shares his story with "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson. >> reporter: there was a moment in the hospital when 31 year-old marcus bow saw him self for the the first time after he says he was see severely beaten by a philadelphia police officer. >> when i saw it i was like my goodness thinks terrible. >> reporter: on may 25th, bow said he and group of friend were celebrating his 30th birthday party at fat tuesday's on south street. bow says he came out of the bar with a cup, when a police officer identified in the civil complaint as victor mcknight told him that is not allowed. bow said he sat the the cup down and started to walk away. moments later mcknight rushed and attack him. >> he put a hand to the throat, takes his stick out

long time. >> reporter: police department had in comment on the lawsuit but a police spokesperson says after the incident, bow never filed an abuse complaint with the department's inn terrible affairs division. so, officer mcknight was never placed under investigation and he remains in good standing on the force. it is latest from the sat center, i'm steve paterson, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". breaking news right now philadelphia police just announced an arrest in the murders of two women in northeast philadelphia. james meres now faces two counts of murder, robbery and related offences. they say meres was a house guest of 67 year-old dolly evans and 59 year-old ruby thomas. they were found dead saturday in the home on vista street and police say they were both shot in the head. new tonight two cemeteries final resting places for war heroes, desecrated. now police in bensalem are searching for vandals who did it. police tell "eyewitness news" that 50 to 60 veterans graves were damage at bows rose dale

and roosevelt cemeteries. vandals piled american flags, holders and decorations and then set them on fire. most recent of the vandalism happened overnight. tonight police in longport new jersey are mourning loss of of sergeant charles adams, adams died in the motorcycle crash in franklin township last night. his bike hit the side of the suv. adams a 21 year veteran of the department was off-duty at the time. former fbi director louie freeh is still in the hospital in new hampshire tonight. he was seriously injured in the car crash in vermont last night. police say freeh's suv went off the road, hit a mailbox and tree. freeh was director from 1993 to june 2001. he led independent investigation in the the jerry sandusky penn state abuse case. well, if you have got outside today we have finally felt that august heat that 90-degree mark on the thermometer. we will hit it today.

meteorologist kathy orr is here to let us know if the heat will be here for a while, kathy. >> here we go that sultry summer heat, and it will try to hold on for a little while. in philadelphia down to 85, already after peeking at 90 trenton 84. eighty-four in allentown. seventy-eight in the poconos. ocean water temperature sitting at 77. with the sea breeze it has cooled down to 77 down the shore. so temperatures at warm side dew points inching up, when we have a dew point temperature between 61 and 64, not bad just yet but 67 gets a little muggy and those dew point temperatures on the rise, that means it will be increasingly humid tonight and during day tomorrow. nothing on storm scan three locally but pulling out here is hurricane cristobal who will stay hundreds of miles away from the mainland u.s. but impacting our weather with dangerous rip currents. more on that coming up. in the meantime we have a big parade tomorrow in philadelphia the taney dragons are welcome home tomorrow at the 2:00 p.m.

it will be hot and humid. the temperature 89 degrees, pack lots of water heading there for now back to you. welshing it will be a warm day but a great day for that parade tomorrow. thousands are expected to cheer out taney dragons. that parade will kick off at 20th and market at 2:00 and work its way down to fdr park. "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao is live tonight and jane, this will be a huge day for these little leaguers. >> reporter: jessica, taney dragons have certainly become the summer feel good story, haven't they? a lot of excitement is building for tomorrow's parade. the route you the is the very same route that the 2008 phillies took after they won the world series. only difference here is the entire route will in the be shut down. it is a rolling parade which means police witt shut town row is a long the route just before the taney dragons fly by. philadelphia pride on display, after the 2008 phillies won the world series.

lets go down the shore to atlantic city. beaches are in the crowded but board are. steel pier will be busy tonight. everyone getting in that last week before the lane are day holiday. it is looking g our live neighborhood network takes us to middletown ship high school and cape may courthouse and here's an example of how far inland this sea breeze is down the shore. it is only 71 cape may courthouse with the east southeast forly wind at 5 miles an hour but not a cloud in the sky just a beautiful afternoon. philadelphia made it to 90 but we are down to 85. eighty-four allentown. eighty-four in trenton. eighty-two millville. ocean water temperature at 77. we have a sea breeze so it is influencing our shore temperatures. pretty mild but still almost 10 degrees cooler then our inland regions, philadelphia is at 85. we will see more heat. answer to the question, will there be a repeat performance is yes, wednesday, making it to at least 90 degrees as coal front approaches from the
