we're following breaking news gunman posing as police officer pulled off a daring heist and now they are on the run with a hundred thousand dollars. good morning, everyone. gunman pulled off heist at a philadelphia food distribution center overnight. >> "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us live on the scene in fishtown with the breaking details. syma, good morning. >> reporter: good morning. it seems like a scene from the movie if you think bit. two armed men come here impersonating themselves as police officers demanding money. this all happened at cowa distribution center and the men ran off with nearly a hundred thousand dollars. now, the two men were impersonating themselves as

police officers, they knock on the steel door and demanded owners to open up and once they did the robbers pointed a gun to their heads and made them open up a safe containing two bags filled with the money. this happened arm 2:15 when owners were getting ready to open for business. both men had baseball caps on it that had the word police on it, and one was possibly wearing a badge around his neck. at the time there was another employee inside who hid from the armed men. when detectives arrived owners were shaken up but not injured there was a language barrier so an interpreter had to come in. police say gunman tried to dismantle the warehouse security system before taking off with the money. >> they then tried to tear some off the recording video, equipment, off of the wall, which they did, so they threw it to the ground and then they exited through the same door that they entered and fled in the vehicle. and what they did fail to break the security camera.

new detectives have been reviewing the surveillance video and they plan to give it to the media to identify the gun man. two robbers trove off, in the black suv probably a chevy that had flashing light on the dashboard again trying to i am person nate police officers. erika and ukee, police are trying to figure out if this may be an inside job, previous employees, current employees are looking at possibility because this distribution center kind of sits off the beat and path between delaware river and i-95 and it seems too random to be targeted, so especially with that much money inside. police officers are looking into that as well. we are live, syma chowdhry for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". also breaking news right new lets look live as crews search for a person in the schuylkill river. investigators tell cbs-3 at least one person is in the water. in word yet how the person ended up there search is on going near st. joes prep boat house in the strawberry mansion bridge. we are expecting an update

very shortly and we will bring that to you as soon as they get started. meanwhile a suspect is behind bars this morning following a brutal double murder in northeast philadelphia. investigators have charged 25 year-old james meres in connection with the deaths of dolly evans and ruby thomas. would the men were found shot in the head inside a home on vista street on saturday. meres faces two counts of murder, robbery and other related charges. one man is in police custody following a string of robberies targeting elderly residents in the north east. keith perkins turned himself in on monday. police are still looking for joseph donaldson and new a third man ronald singleton. authorities say that these men would follow victims from banks and then rob them outside of their homes. 5:33. lets get traffic and weather together. we will heat up again, katie. >> absolutely we over achieved yesterday, in fact, temperatures did have a chance with the full, hot sunlight, to get up to 90 degrees.
