we will start with breaking news from the fairmount park area, police discovered two bodies, bound with duct tape floating in the schuylkill river. crew as arrived at the scene around 4:00 this morning have after a report of someone in the water. you're looking live right now as the search continues to give you perspective, right here near the grandstanded near columbia railroad bridge. police have set up a podium and we are expecting a news conference to happen any moment. we will continue to follow this and bring you any details throughout our morning broadcast. also updating our other breaking news story two armed suspects posing as officers pulled off a daring heist at the a food distribution center in fishtown. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry has more from the scene with the latest on this investigation. >> reporter: police say two armed men impersonated police officers in the cowa distribution food center and made off with nearly a hundred thousand dollars. >> they both had guns. they were posing as police

officers and put guns in the back of individual's head in order to steel money. it just goes to show how brazen and how dangerous, these two individuals are. >> reporter: two men impersonating police officers knock on the steel door demanding owners to open up. once they did the robbers pointed a gun to their heads and made them open up a safe containing two bags filled with a hundred thousand dollars this happened urn 2:15 when owners were getting ready to open for business. the both men had baseball caps on that had the words police on it. one was possibly wearing a badge around his neck. at the time of the robbery there was another employee inside who hid from the armed men. when detectives arrived the owners were shaken up but not injured. there was a bit of the language barrier so interpreter had to come in. police say gunman tried to dismantle warehouse security system after taking the money. >> they then tried to tear some off the recording video, equipment, off of the wall which they did, threw it to

the ground. >> reporter: they failed to break cameras and new detectives have been reviewing their surveillance video. >> cameras clearly recorded them. then they went into another room where the safe is, and camera were also in that room. >> reporter: police plan to give media that video in the hopes of identifying that gunman. police say two robbers drove off in a black suv possibly a chevy trail blader and flashing light on the dashboard again trying to i am person nate police officials. in fishtown, syma chowdhry cbs-3 "eyewitness news". police are searching for the suspect gunned down a teen in the north philadelphia playground. it happened just after 8:30 last night on the 24 hundred block have of north ninth street. the 17 year-old victim was shot several times. police say a large group of people were enjoying a cook out near the basketball courts when a gunman started shooting. >> we have reports that at least a hundred people were on the core at the time of the shooting. pretty amazing with at least

ten shots fired that large of a crowd that only one individual was shot, tragically the 17 year-old boy shot was killed. >> there is no word right now on the motive. police are looking for a teenage suspect. your time is 6:03. they are the little league shore made philadelphia and surrounding area proud and today the city is throwing a big party for the taney dragons. the parade starting at 20th and market street the the parade will head south down broad street to fdr park for a rally. team will be treated to performances by philly pops and mummers. we caught up with two players say although experience has been overwhelming they cannot wait for this afternoon's festivities. >> i'm excited for the parade. i don't know what will happen touring it, but it will be fun. >> i think it will be great.

station kyw news radio 1060 is on the scene with the latest information for us, jim, good morning. >> reporter: good morning what we know are two bodies were pulled from the river here earlier this morning around 4:00 a.m. when this all unfolded. one person is in the hospital and bodies appear to have been dump here by a van. here ace lopping kelly drive by kelly statue and grand stands for regatta that are often held here. this is a very active scene this parking lot members of the crime scene unit are on the banks of the river down the river. all we can see is their flashlights and their head as they walk along searching the banks for evidence. they were just a minute ago huddled around within of the bodies. fortunately where we are we cannot see those bodies. several cop cars here, kelly drive is opened but it is a dangerous scene here. police coming and going.

investigation going on here. we have divers on the scene. they have wet suits unzip. it appears that their work is done. as to who or why, who these bodies may have been who these people may have been or why they were dumped here, we do in the know. we are awaiting an update from police but so far very few details. all we know is around 4:00 o'clock they did pull two bound bodies which appeared to have been dumped here near the grandstanded by a van from the back of the van into the river. one person is at the hospital, involved in this. >> jim, stay on top of that for us, and we will get back to you throughout the morning. the a news conference will start in a few moments and our we saw chief inspector scott small talking getting information so we will hear from him very shortly.. >> we will be right back.

schuylkill river. crew as arrived at the that scene around 4:00 and found a person suffering from stab wounds. we're told that someone was inside that water. they are in the hospital right now. lets get you outside to "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry. the she's on the scene with the breaking details. what have you learn, syma, good morning. >> reporter: good morning erika and ukee. this is an active ongoing investigation here at the schuylkill river at kelly drive. we are told two bodies were found in the river bound and duct taped. this happened around 4:00 in the morning when a third man was discovered stabbed. he told police he and two others were kidnaped and thrown in the schuylkill. he was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for his wound. several different police departments are on the scene including marine department. we are told bodies are still in the river and they are waiting to retrieve bodies and awaiting police commissioner ramsey or deputy commissioner to give us more information because right now we don't

back to our breaking "news 3" bodies found with third in the hospital. news conference is underway. >> kelly drive where another 20 year-old victim as well as two other males in the rear of the van were taken out of the van and all three bodies were thrown in the schuylkill river right along the east banks of the schuylkill river by retaining wall in the 2300 block of kelly drive. our 20 year-old victim was able to free himself from the river, climbed on the bank of the river and that is when police were net filed. the other two victims police to find submerged in the schuylkill river, they were under water, however, they were visible, they were in about five to 10 feet of water, both bodies were 50 feet apart.

both bodies were obviousry dead, they were pronounced dead by fire department paramedic at 4:26 a.m. both of the dead bodies had duct tape wrapped around their face. they also both appeared to be bound, their wrist and ankles. they also appeared to be tied or tethered to some sort of piece of tea brings, some sort of weight used as an anchor to keep them under water. crime scene unit personnel, homicide detective are on location processing the scene looking for any evidence. i will not disclose the the location where our 20 year-old victim was abduct but it was in philadelphia, it was and we do have detectives out there, they did locate some cameras in that area. so hopefully, those cameras can help us identify these perpetrators who abduct our 20 year-old victim and hopefully

these cameras can help us identify the van. at this point, only motive we have for the abduction and stabbing of over 20 user old victim who is alive is robbery. he claims he was then in the back of the van and tied up and stabbed. he was robbed for an undisclosed amount of money. the two other victims were already in the back of the van he was not with the two other victims. we don't know at this time if the other two victims were related to this robbery. so, it is an investigation, in progress and homicide detective are on location, crime scene unit processing the crime scene. >> unaudible. well, right now the the only person who we were able to identify is two-year old victim transported to hahnemann hospital because he is still alive in stable condition. the other two victims are unidentified right now. we're not even certain if they are males.

together every month to cook meals for the bethesda project shelters. >> bethesda project is a home for formally homeless people. we provide homes to people who have none. >> reporter: fourteen bethesda project facilities served more than 2500 people a year mostly adults without children. many of have mental illness or addiction. >> there are programs for women and children. there are not that many for men. we are serving those chronically homeless individuals who have no where to turn. >> reporter: to help the bethesda cooks will host meals for residents. today's menu ham, mint peas, stuffing, angel food cake with icing. karen and her husband pay for all of this food themselves. once it is done the food is pack up to be transported to a freezer any by for later deliver toy one of the bethesda project facilities. >> i was just newly retired. >> reporter: maryann flynn not only volunteered to help cook, she and other cooks often join
