tonight. that discovery of the son's body was made after police check on the home following the hospital shooting. shooting force aid temporary lock down at kennedy university hospital in stratford, camden county. our stephanie stahl is live at the hospital with the latest tonight, stephanie. >> reporter: jessica, we still don't know what instigated these shootings or how they might be related. there is some scary moments inside this hospital, earlier today, and at the family home, there is shock. >> neighbors in glendora say something was strange about the way wychowanec family who lived here especially the father and son. >> he had seemed odd a little. he was a little funky. he gave me this weird look and i said hi and he said, hi back. got in his car. that was it. >> reporter: what kind of a weird look. >> like a grin. >> reporter: officials say six three-year eld ray mopped wychowanec shot and killed his six two-year old wife denise who was hospitalized at kennedy hospital stratford.

staff responded and saw a horrific site. >> medical staff entered the room at which point in time mr. raymond then shot himself but we do not know why. >> that is in the our protocol. we have to provide access to care. he was visiting his loved one and that is normal process, signs in and goes up to the patient room. >> reporter: raymond wychowanec was green to cooper hospital where he was in critical condition. after the hospital shooting officials found'sth 35 year-old son, ryan, dead from a gunshot wound inside the glendora home. >> pretty crazy. >> reporter: was there any incidents at this house. >> no. >> reporter: investigators are running ballistics tests to see if the the gun that was used here in the happies the same one that killed the son. they are also talking to friend and relatives to try to figure out what was going on with this family. reporting live from stratford i'm stephanie stahl, cbs-3 "eyewitness news".

an update on the deadly medical center shooting in darby. forty-nine year-old richard plott is scheduled for a preliminary hearing september 9th. he is charge with the murder of his social worker and attempted murder of his psychiatrist and related offenses. that shooting happened last month inside of the mercy fitzgerald wellness center. we have now learned that the shooting victim outside the lower providence township building died of a self inn fix gunshot wound. emergency crews responded to the scene around 2:30 after reports of gunfire. so far the the identity of the that male victim has not been released. also developing right now at 6:00 o'clock a plane has crashed in berks county. authorities say that the small aircraft went down at berks airport in birds,boro late this afternoon. two people were taken from the scene. the plane caught fire and was destroyed before fighters arrived. faa is investigating the cause of that crash. taney fever continues here in philadelphia and today the dragons received a champion's treatment with the parade through the city. hundreds lined broad street to cheer the team on, as they

made it to the little league world seer thinks summer. festivities kick off at 20th and market streets and ended at fdr park where the a rally was hell. that is where we will begin our eyewitness news team coverage. "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao and sports director beasley reese has a full wrap up of the festivities. hi guys. >> reporter: jessica, quite the the turnout today. i was impressed by it. >> it was big. >> it was big. >> what a fun day. luckily we got most of the day with the kids, although here at the rally and along the the parade route. that parade started at 2:00 in the afternoon at market and 20th street there is nodes anything these kids have have given philadelphia a reason to smile this summer. and thousands came out to say thank awe long market street in center city this afternoon. >> it was wonderful. >> well deserved. >> well deserve. >> reporter: taney dragons and their journey says, it is just surreal. >> i remember one of the games he was rounding third and

heading to home and crowd erupted. it sounded like citizens bank park. >> reporter: just a group of kids but they certainly have that type of following now. the crowd jammed in front of the kimmel center on broad street. philly pops providing the storied sound track. >> ♪ >> reporter: the party kept going and going from center city to south philadelphia. philadelphians shows even though this team fell short this city supports their hard work and dedication. >> mo'ne is fantastic. the the whole team is fantastic. the philadelphia should be proud. >> reporter: history now in the books. the first urban philadelphia team to make it to williamsport and its star mo'ne davis showing her appreciation after being the first girl to pitch a shut out in the little league world series and for that we still beef in dragons. >> congratulations, keep up the good work. >> it was wonderful. it just made me cry. >> reporter: and is what a parade without a rally, right a lot of pride on displays

here today, beasley. >> there was. interviewing these kids, they are at the 13 years oldy felt like i was interviewing, you know, some of the phillies, but better. the parade ended at fdr park. fans formed another caravan to the podium. >> our young people with support from adults can do anything that they want to do and that is what is all about, but a long day for 13 years olds and dragons say it was hot as dragon's breath. >> it was a nice parade. it got kind of hot at the end. >> when i was on the float i was really exhausted. i felt like i was almost going to pass out. >> reporter: players received a philadelphia city flag, front page photos from our newspapers, and taney dragon's day proclamations from the city. >> it is really nice to know that we have supporters in your city and that they are always going to be supporting you no matter what and that is what they came out to show us. >> feeling how much support we

have had, all along, not even just in williamsport but all of those people coming but everyone all the way around and in philadelphia. >> reporter: well, they are in the air conditions at xfinity live having dinner. i'm sure everybody is comped on the the city and people at xfinity and then over to the phillies to be honored by the phillies and people like ryan howard. for jane carabao, i'm beasley reese, at fdr park. >> big day, thanks, guys. and now a live look, right outside citizens wang park where they said the party is moving tonight. the taney dragons will be honored by the the philadelphia phillies and our matt rivers is there, he will have a live report coming up at 6:15. today in court a scared, little girl did a very brave thing. she testified about the day she was abduct from her school. police say that abduction was just the beginning of a nightmare. "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter is live outside the criminal justice center with her story, walt.

>> reporter: there were tears in the the eyes of the jurors in courtroom 1101 and in the eyes of the people sitting in the courtroom but not in the eyes of that brave little seven year-old girl who walk in the courtroom at 3:15 with poise, courage, taking the witness stand for 35 agonizing minutes as the details of an attack more horrific then most of us could ever have imagined came out in her quiet little voice. the ordeal that began in january of 2013, when this five-year old little girl was abduct from the bryant school, blindfolded and sexually assaulted for 19 hours, before being abandoned wearing only a t-shirt in a play ground, now took a new turn as she walked into a justice center courtroom, to testify, face-to-face, against her accused attacker cristina regusters. the the little girl, saying how the suspect lured her out of class. i am picking you up, come on. i thought it was my mom.

>> this is a very difficult thing for any person let alone a small child. she is courageous. >> reporter: her small clear voice, filling the silent courtroom which was jammed, and overflowing, as jury members held tissues in their hand to wipe away tears. she testified i was blindfolded. somebody told me to get under the bed. >> did anything bad happen to you in the house. >> i don't remember, i just remember hurting. >> we all necessity how she was brutalized and how she was horribly violated. >> reporter: finally, she described being dropped off in the freezing, darkness in the park, where she was rescued, crying, and shivering by a good samaritan. did you call out to him. >> yes. >> what did you say to him. >> help. >> the defense attorney chose not to cross-examine the little girl. she did answer i cannot remember to dozens of

questions, and she did not directly identify her allege attacker, however, she did other interviews including some of them taped that are being entered as evidence. the trial is expect to run for two weeks and the little girl from the witness stand says she's looking forward to going into second grade. at a new school. live from the criminal justice center, walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> walt, thank you. three men are tortured at length and then tossed in the schuylkill river to die. one survived. tonight police are hoping he can lead them to those responsible. the 23 year-old managed to escape and flag down help along kelly drive this morning. when they arrived the other two were found dead. police say they were ta geted and looking into whether that attack was related to drugs or gangs. it is clear whoever committed the crime wanted them dead. >> their eyes were covered. they were stabbed multiple times, and, two of the three their throats were slit and then thrown in the schuylkill

river. >> police collect evidence from the home of the surviving victim on the 700 block of north second street hoping to learn more about what happened. that victim remains hospitalized in critical condition. and investigators are hoping to question him when he recovers. the search is on for two men who posed as police officers to gain access to a food distribution center in fishtown. this happened overnight at cowa trading corporation on the 1700 block of north delaware avenue. police say that the suspects said police might even have have a badge around his neck. the those men took off with $100,000 in cash. the heat and humidity make a come back plus hurricane cristobal, causing concern down the shore. meteorologist kathy orr is tracking it all, kathy. >> even a hurricane that is hundreds of miles away, we have concerns down the shore, plus the labor day who will take weekend, do you plan on being outdoors? well then check this forecast out, we will have that coming up. plus the celebration for taney dragons isn't over just yet they are in for a big

what a whirl win it has been for philadelphia taney dragons. the team took center stage in a parade through the the city to day, after that impressive performance at little league world series. guess what, the celebration isn't over just yet. next up for the dragons a special ceremony at citizens bank park, the phillies will be paying tribute to the team before their team, against the nationals tonight. "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers is live outside the ballpark where fans are arriving, matt. >> reporter: they are already arriving, jessica. that is true. what a great day for taney dragons. a long day of celebrations that started in our studios this morning, finishing up here in south philadelphia at citizens bank park at 45 minutes from right now the team is actually going to let in through the stadium through that gate behind me by the penn marching band as well as members of the phillies will lead them in there to be honored guests of tonight's game. for more on that we will bring in dave buck, senior vice-president of marketing for phillies. thanks for joining us. tell us about what will happen tonight. >> once the team coming down and goes through the gate it

feeling nice this afternoon. our future weather getting a good handle on is what going on with the showers through the poconos and west of philadelphia the front is slowly moving through with a few extra clouds in the lehigh valley and a few showers late tonight and then it washes out, best chance of seeing a spotty shower would be through bucks county, possibly mercer county towards northern new jersey and new york, otherwise, perhaps a few patchy clouds. so this front brings us, dryer conditions, low humidity, temperatures in the 80's for thursday. even for friday it will be pleasant as high pressure sits to the north, gives us more northerly wind and then by saturday the heat begins to build again, we will keep an eye on the cold front, heat and humidity returns and then by sunday that front could bring a few scattered showers or thunderstorms, we will keep you posted on that. in the meantime a hurricane cristobal is hundreds of miles away from the jersey shore but there will be a high risk of rip currents even tomorrow afternoon so ab wear of that down the the shore. overnight a few clouds low 68 during the day. tomorrow less humid, breezy,
