kept us laughing. good evening, i'm chris may. >> i'm jessica dean. >> tonight fans from here to hollywood are mourning the death of the often brash, always assertive comedy pioneer. this is new video of her daughter melissa arriving at rivers apartment in new york city. she was met there by a crowd of cameras and reporters. as the tributes pour in tonight authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding rivers cardiac arrest at a new york city city clinic. >> it didn't take long for the outpouring of love and remembrance to begin. by thursday afternoon a wreath was placed they are joan rivers star on the walk of fame in hollywood. >> i think if you can't laugh at everything you're in terrible trouble. i just think -- i am so tired of people saying, you can't laugh at that. >> reporter: true original joan rivers outspoken style blaze add trail for female comedians. >> on my wedding -- i said you shut that car door. >> rivers got her start appearing on the to note show

with johnny carson. often reinventing herself she later pioneered modern daddy day red carpet coverage opening mocking celebrities and their clothinclothing. her comedy was biting but many who worked with her remembered the comedian as gracious and generous. >> i represent i think i like to think all the women and then my real life to my real life. >> she continued performing her stand up routine until the very end doing a show before the day she went into cardiac arrest during routine throat procedure on august 28th. her daughter melissa issue a statement that read in part "my mother's greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. although that is difficult to do right now, i know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon ". >> rivers said she wanted to work forever. and even at 81, for many fans, her time in the spotlight just wasn't long enough. she was certainly admired for her particular brand of humor. it was one that only few can pull off.

>> diana, thank you very much. in her later years, joan rivers alabama an influential figure in fashion. in addition to her red carpet commentary she also spent time on qvc selling her line of jewelry and clothing. it was friends say a labor of love. we spoke tonight we one of her on air partners qvc's jane tra tracy. >> kindest person you would ever meet, worried about were you hungry? were you tired? she was kind to everybody in this building, and she had such compassion. she would know if there was maybe something a little off in your day. and i think some people are surprised because she was so assertive and funny and hilarious there us what this soft nurturing side to joan rivers schenn showed it to everybody. >> tracy also tells thus during commercial breaks joan always kept her laughing. david letterman will absolute rivers on the late show tonight. she appeared on his show many times. her final appearance taking place in july. during tonight's taping

after hitting that child. >> also developing to night an amber alert that has police on alert from florida to pennsylvania. police near tampa are looking for a missing boy after four bodies were found near his home. four year oldies may ya'll, who's autistic may be with adam mattos who's from the lehigh valley. mate toes is considered a person of interest in the case. he's believed to be driving a 1991 bluford forward f150 with a florida tag 244-jjn. >> new at 11:00 o'clock tonight, busing blues in bucks county. parents are fuming after one district ends bus service for after school activities. this controversy is unfolding in bristol township. "eyewitness news" reporter matt riffs talked with parents who were worried for the safety of their children. >> reporter: for some in this band it's the 4:15 bus. for others it's the 5:30.

>> i know funding is hard. the hard for everybody. but there has to be some way of finding fund. >> reporter: school board here in bristol township is scheduled to meet on monday night where this issue is expected to be discussed. we do expect to see a lot of parents and students in attendant at that mee meeting. we're in bristol township tonight, matt rivers cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> meantime some parents in lindenwold are furious with the school district there after it eliminated the e for bus route. that's left about 40 kids who used to take the bus having to walk to school. the district says it is all legal since the children live within 2 miles of their school. but parents fear the kids are in danger with traffic. for now the diss track has assigned a resource officer to walk those kids from a spot about a mile away from their school. >> hash tag whoops. delaware governor jack markell' office is apologizing for tweeting out provocative photo of a woman. this is a picture of an education event that's what the

fair weather high pressure sitting right over the northeast moving offshore will allow southwesterly winds to move in tomorrow. temperatures will be approaching 90 with heat and humidity with a scattered afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm. but widely scattered and then we'll see a better chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day on saturday. saturday afternoon and saturday evening because this front will be moving through. the east side of the front you have heat and humidity. on the back side of the front, you have drier cooler air. so the clashing of those air massemasses will really set offe showers and storms. after that, sunday noticeably cooler. with clearing skies. northerly winds and temperatures only in the 70s. to give you an idea what it will be feeling like over the next couple of days, well, for your friday and saturday, in the oppressive range and then by sunday a huge difference. dropping into the pleasant zone. feeling much more like the fall season. look ahead through our future weather for friday morning,

seeing a few clouds moving in but they'll break for sun and during the afternoon during the evening line of showers and thunderstorms will develop through the lehigh valley and break apart as they move through the philadelphia area. so shower and storm activity will be mainly north and west of the city late tomorrow and through the evening. overnight partly cloudy and wa warm. the low 70. during the day friday hot with a scattered shower or storm. more likely toward evening the high near 90. and if you're lucky enough to have a tick to the eagles game kick off at 1:00 o'clock, 77 degrees. with winds out of the north. so it will be very comfortable. on the exclusive "eyewitness weather" seven day forecast, saturday the heat will definitely peak. the late day shower or thunderstorm will be rolling through. a big change after that. sunday, monday, even next week temperatures in the upper 70s. lower 80s. closer to normal. normal is around 82 degrees for this time of year. but better football weather. 79 or 77 much better than 90. >> 90 not so much.
