showing us any problems whatsoever. at mosul's see a cloud or two but rain is gone. we saw quite a bit of rain yesterday. we ended up, with just generally a quarter to maybe almost as much as a half inch of rain in some spots. the not quite as much as a half an inch but close to it. our temperatures right now are cool, and the wind is out of the north and that makes air mass dry. any puddles we will see will be drying up and sunshine will help evaporate that. 47 degrees right now. that is up in the poconos in philadelphia, 56 degrees. in atlantic city 54 degrees. a bit more breezy, wind from eight, nine, 10 miles an hour from north to south. fifty-six in philadelphia a presently. fifty-two in trenton. fifty-four in wilmington. everybody is out of the 40's with the exception of the poconos. we did have have a couple of those temperatures in the 40's this morning and we will find out that same thing tomorrow. what is in the 40's, mostly the dew points. it is a very dry air mass, feels wonderful out there. temperatures by noon

64 degrees, that is it. by 3:00 p.m. 72 degrees, sunshine just a great looking day. how long will the forecast, stay looking like that? longer then you might think. i'll show you answers on the eyewitness weather seven day forecast, todd? carol, thank you. new this morning the hunt is on for a hit and run driver who caused this accident on philadelphia's waterfront. authorities tell us two cars collided at delaware avenue and somer street after 2:00 a.m. two women in their 20's were taken to the hospital. both have of them are in serious but stable condition. the driver of the the striking vehicle fled the scene on foot. and also new this morning an accident shuts down part of the i-95 southbound, blocking the ramp to enter the walt whitman bridge. a car crashed and rolled over on the highway just after four, two people were rush to the hospital, no word on their condition. a pennsylvania state trooper was also involved in the crash overnight, his

patrol cruiser was struck by a car on the schuylkill expressway, right here near montgomery avenue at around 2:30 in the morning, both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the driver of the other car, is facing charges for driving under the influence. ambush outside a state police barracks in northeastern pennsylvania leaves one trooper dead and another critically wounded. corporal brian dixon and trooper alex douglass were both shot just before 11:00 friday night at blooming grove police barracks in pike county. douglass is in stable but critical condition, corporal dixon died at the scene. a $20,000 reward is being offered right now for any information, leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case. and developing right now officials are working to confirm the authenticity of a just released video that appears to show the the execution of another hostage biasis militant. cbs news correspondent daniel

nottingham tells us more about the victim british aid worker david haines. >> reporter: video released on social media saturday shows david haines, a 44 year-old aid worker from scotland on his knees with the masked man hovering over him with the knife. haines was kidnaped through northern syria last year as he delivered humanitarian aid. new video looks very much like the previous video showing the execution of two american journalist, james foley and steven sotoloff who were beheaded. in the video it appears that haines is following a script, he denounces british prime minister david cameron holding him responsible for his execution and following a trend of british prime ministers who can't find courage to say no to the americans. the same mask man with the british accent appears in all three videos and like the other two he threatens to kill yet another hostage sometime in the future. cameron called the execution

despicable and appalling. he tweeted and released a statement saying that the murder of david haines is a act of pure evil and that his heart goes out to haines family, who have have shown extraordinary courage and fortitude. cameron added we will do everything in our power to hunt down these murders, and ensure that they face justice, however long it takes. haines family has asked for privacy. >> danielle nottingham for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a student at all bright college in reading, berks county is killed in the house fire, just off of campus. nineteen year-old sophomore matt rain was from south river, new jersey and held a school record in swimming. or students in the house at the the time of the fire reportedly jumped to safety. two required medical attention. fire was contain to the basement and there were working smoke detectors. it is unclear how that fire started. search is on for a hit and run driver involved in the deadly crash in tioga. philadelphia police say a car

hit a 60 year-old man crossing the street right at 25th and allegheny and just kept on going. this happened around midnight, victim was then hit by a second car that pulled over. police later found the the striking vehicle abandoned on the 3100 block of bainbury street. the three day susan komen walk comes to an end today. this is the tenth year for the walk that has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for breast cancer research. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry has the the story as walkers are already on their way. >> reporter: walkers are getting ready to start their last day of the susan komen three day event, folks are still rolling out of here. they will tackle the last 20 miles for today, totaling 60 miles. that is right, folks on friday it is 20 miles, on saturday they did 20 miles and today they will do another 20 miles and you can tell they are not even tired. you think about that, 60 miles for three days and they are all doing that in hopes of finding a cure for breast

exclusive information about a mystery skin rash that is spread ago monk students at temple university. health reporter stephanie stahl has more on the condition that sent dozens to seek medical treatment. >> instead of comparing notes, those temple university students are comparing skin rashes, on the back side of their legs. >> it is all the way down my leg. >> it is gross. >> i had a rash that looked

like bug by the. the months keith the owe by the. i didn't know what it was two weeks ago. >> reporter: rashes are fading new but they took picture of what they first looked like, red raised blotches irritating and itchy. >> over the last year we have seen approximately 100 to 120 students who have presented with a very similar type of rash to the back of their legs. it is a contact dermatitis. >> reporter: mark dennie, director of student health at temple, said they have in the been able to identify what is causing the rashes but have been able to determine they are not bug by the. some suspect it could be from sitting on the benches at cecil b more subway station. >> we did a visual inspection of the benches. we at no time saw any infestation. we don't know what happened or what the causes but you why take chances, why not go ahead and address it. we went ahead and power washed it, we did a treatment and then sealed it. >> they are barricaded off, the benches down in the the station. >> reporter: students with rashes have been told to wear

tried and true method. each number becomes a stick or sticky finger. >> sometimes i will use my finger. >> reporter: is there a better way for american children to learn math say the way they do tonight china and korea top countries on math test. their research shows of all of the numbers, ten rules. make a ten before doing anything else to a math problem and you catch on faster and better, this teacher difficulties agree. >> when we do our tens and count by patterns sometimes students get more confusing counting by ten. >> reporter: veronica joyner saw some of the research that partially blames the english language, for americans lower math scores. and, this teacher saying 23 we do in our country how about 2103 like they do in the top foreign countries to emphasize place value but changing our ways now doesn't add up, to veteran teacher mrs. joyner. >> it would be confusing because students here who have learned it one way and then they are using another way.

radio calls from the scene. >> emergency traffic, go ahead. >> unaudible. corporal byron dixon was killed and another trooper wounded. authorities say they have questioned a person of interest but stressed they do not have a suspect in custody. shooting happened in their remote town of blooming grove pike county 140 miles north of philadelphia, "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers has more on the investigation. >> reporter: state police commissioner frank noonan describe the crime in no uncertain terms. >> this attack was an am bush, our troopers were leaving the barracks and were shot, without warning. and had no chance to defend themselves. >> reporter: brian dixon and alex douglass were both struck before 11:00 at blooming grove police barracks in pike

county. douglass was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. corporal dixon was found dead. >> it has touched us to the core that something could happen. >> reporter: search immediately began for suspect in the case. officials say they believe the shooter has left the rural area where shooting happened and search parameters have been expanded. person of interest has been questioned in the case but is not considered a suspect. in the meantime a word of caution for the public. >> we have a very dangerous, armed criminal, that is already killed one pennsylvania state trooper and wounded another and that is not in custody. >> reporter: corporal dixon graduated from the police academy in 2007 and transfer from the blooming grove barracks from the posting in philadelphia. governor corbett spoke about him late saturday afternoon. >> corporal brian dixon leaves behind two young boys and a wife and i cannot imagine the heartache that they aringing through. >> reporter: matt rivers for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and yesterday governor corbett ordered flags to fly

"eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry is live at the cheering station for walkers in society hill, syma. >> reporter: that is right, todd. the these walkers, they have come from all over not just here in philadelphia but more than 1600 people crossing the street right the now. the lets take a look right here. lots of folks. we cannot even stop them to talk because they are on a in mission to complete their 60-mile journey. these folks have been walking 20 miles on friday, saturday and then they will complete another 20 miles here on sunday. now this is a small cheering section here at the point plaza and love park. lots of folks out here just trying to cheer them on.

a lot of miles if you think about it, 60 miles all together. these folks said they were sore from walking these past few days but they are doing it a all for a great cause. they are trying to find a cure for breast cancer. now you here is a fun fact. is there more than 1600 people participating, exactly 242 of them are men. so this is an all inclusive event. the lots of folks out here, supporting their mothers, their sisters, they are best friends, their daughters, just going to try to find a cure for breast cancer. this is the last day. the is there a couple other cheering sections in center city if you want to cheer them on. it includes second street between pine and south street, that cheering section and from 10:15 to 1:15 and is and then 60 miles will come to an end at the navy yard at closing ceremony which is 4:30 later today. you could be part of that as well if you want to come down there but it is a total of

avoid having the the type all that information into forms, and then once builder is set up customer just to have confirm the amount, date and set the payment. >> reporter: and more photo payment options are coming soon. this app called check will give anyone with the smart phone access to mobile photo bill pay even if their bank doesn't offer it. other programs, will scan qr codes to pay bills. financial institutions using mobile owe photo pay it is similar to remote check deposit. images are never stored in your phone and using photo bill pay reveals less information than mailing a check. >> you think about the information on a physical check it has your name, address, sometimes your phone number and it always has your full account number and routeing number of your bank. so, really the less you expose that type of information, the more safe you are. >> reporter: in our region u.s. bank offers the mobile photo bill pay app. as for cost of using these products, jury is still out as
