♪ >> breaking news at 11:00. a 15 year old girl goes missing and is found unconscious along the busy roadway. tonight police are trying to figure out just how she ended up there. good evening, i'm jessica dean. >> i'm chris may. someone noticed that little girl in a wooded area along the 7600 block of roosevelt boulevard and called the police. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco is live at the scene in pennypack park.

diana? >> reporter: chris, we are told night that that 15 year old girl is from the far northeast and she has been taken to saint christopher's hospital. where detectives are now standing by both from the northeast and from svu weighting to interview her. it was just before 8:00 o'clock tonight that someone was walking along the sidewalk here and noticed the girl unconscious next to the guardrail. police searched the woods of been know pack park after a 15 year old girl is found unconscious wearing her school uniform. the girl had visible bruises on the back of her legs an head wound. she was found on the northbound side of the roosevelt boulevard around 7:45 monday by a passer passerby. walking just north of cottman avenue. police say the girl' parents had reported her missing 45 minutes earlier when she didn't return home from school. she is now at saint christopher's hospital in stable condition being interviewed by police. >> so this time we don't know if

she was sexually assaulted. we don't know if the bruises to her head or legs how they were caused. if she was assaulted by a person or she fell. we don't know. but we did find her in an and usual location on the other side of the guardrail laying in the woods just feet from the sidewalk. >> reporter: at this hour that 15 year old girl is in stable condition at saint christopher's hospital. detectives have just arrived here and started putting up in crime tape. police are holding the scene right now. now, we are told that so far they have not found any visible evidence at the scene, of course, they say there's much more to come in this investigation. we're live along the roosevelt boulevard, diana rocco, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> diana, thank you knew tonight they were brutally attacked in a possible hate crime. now a same sex couple beaten on the streets of philadelphia is telling their story. determined to see the suspects brought to justice. the couple were confronted thursday night by strangers at 16th and chancellor in center

"eyewitness news" reporter todd quinones tells us it wasn't along until shouting turned to violence. todd. >> reporter: jessica, tonight both of the victims tell me that police have shown them surveillance pictures of the men and women who attacked them. one of the men was beaten so badly he was hospitalized and had his jaw wired shut. tonight, both of the victims talked to us on condition we would not reveal their identit identities or show their faces. >> three guys started pummeling me and knocked me to the grounden hit the ground out and i was out. >> with a large cut and bruises to his face and his jaw wired shut due to severe osh with tal fractures the 28 year old victim and his 26 year old boyfriend were both determined to tell their stories. >> we want to find these people because we don't want this to everybody to somebody else again isn't thursday night the two men were walking right here near 16th and chance color streets just south of walnut street in center city. it was just before 11:00 when they say a group of about 12

people men and women white, well dressed in their early 20's randomly confronted them. >> what is this your f'ing boyfriend. i said yes this is my f'ing boyfriend. so you're arbiter dee f'ing bleep. yeah, what if i am a dirtying in bleep. >> they were pummeled by the group some were yelling gay slurs as they were hitting them. philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsay says the suspects will be tracked down. >> you have people out there that choose to engage in this kind of conduct and hopefully they get seive sentences. >> the 28 year old victim hospitalized since thursday night just got out monday morning. his jaw will be wire shut for the next eight weeks. >> it was strays surprising this happens in center city philadelphia. >> and again, tonight the victim is telling us police do have surveillance pictures of those attackers. caught boy a camera here in the area. police right now are working to identify the suspects.

philadelphia police commissioner charles ramsay says once these suspects are caught, it be hup to the da's office to decide if they will be charged with a hate crime. reporting live tonight in center city, todd quinones cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right. incredible interview there, todd, thank you very much. looks like we could be dealing with some showers during the rush hour come tomorrow morning. meteorologist kathy orr is tracking the wet weather and what it means for you. kathy? >> right now we're looking at some cool temperatures as the clouds move in, chris. already down into the 40s in the poconos. 55 in allentown. 61 in philadelphia. it won't be as cold as it was last night because of the cloud cover. keeping those temperatures from really bottoming out. on storm scan3 there are the showers moving northward than eastward. it will take some time for them to move into the region. so in the morning between 5am and 9am we expect the rain to move in. scattered showers not a lot but enough to cause a slow down for the morning rush. between tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain expected. now, we're going to continue to

friday when he was shot and kill. trooper alex douglas was hit by the bullets of a 308 caliber rifle as he arrived for his shift. he remains hospitalized tonight. >> it was an act of cowardness and an act of murder and being treated as such. if there's any tie to any domestic threat group that will certainly be be a part of the investigation and would factor into the charges that are eventually filed. >> corporal dixon leaves behind a wife of 10 years and two young boys. his viewing will be held at the rotunda at mary wood university in scranton on wednesday. he'll then be buried with full military honors following a service at saint peters cathedral in scranton on thursday. >> the u.s. is hitting isis targets with air strike. the latest southwest of baghdad. those air strikes are expected to expand into syria planning for that is stl underway. tomorrow president obama will meet with retired marine general john allen. he retired last year but is being called back into service to lead a coalition against the

(gunfire). >> early yesterday morning, the evans officer opened fire on suspect who allegedly shot up a 94 by parking lot full of people. that suspect was shot more than once but is expected to survive. the officer was not injured in the confrontation. >> we have new information tonight surrounding those faulty ignition switches in some gm cars blamed for dozens of accidents. the number of deaths linked to these switches has now been raised from 13 to 19. according to attorney ken feinberg who's overseeing the victims compensation fund. feinberg has received 445 total claims so far. 125 for deaths. 58 for life altering injuries including paralysis or amputation, and 262 for serious injuries. >> pennsylvania lawmakers are expected to vote soon on a bill called hannah's law. it's named after a little girl in buck county.

expected along the baja. something that they are not used to as far as hurricanes are concerned. take look. we have more information on odile as it will be impacting the mainland u.s. on our storm scan3, i've colored the cloud tops of the storm so you can actually see how high they go. the red being the highest clouds in the center of the storm right now a tropical storm but still packing a maximum sustained wind at 65 miles an hour. it will continue to move north northwest along the baja then cross the gulf of california and then become a remnant low remnants of the storm with heavy rain heading into arizona. so keeping an eye on that. this unfortunately it will be causing some dangerous life threatening mudslides with all of the rain. closer to home we're just dealing with dry conditions on the east coast. this is a view from our skycam3 in center is he philadelphia. across the region temperatures in the 50s and 60s. keeping it a little bit milder tonight with the cloud cover that's moving in. in bensalem 66. mercer county airport 63.

reading at the airport 62. new castle at saint peters school the testimony cher 62 degrees. now, elsewhere around the region we have some cold air in the poconos 48 and falling. 50's through reading and also lancaster and 50's to the west state college, buffalo, new york, cleveland cooling down tonight. some rain is coming. it's coming with this cold front. area of low pressure associated with it goes to the north that's where most of the rain will be. some morning showers giving way to increasing sunshine with drier air working in on the back side of that front. wednesday fair weather high pressure builds in. sunshine dry conditions still under that northern canadian influence which means a deep blue sky and no major weather factors to really bust this forecast. thursday still looks nice. with mostly sunny skies. as we time it out you can see the clouds moving through. during the overnight. it's really not until 5:00 o'clock in the morning that we see some spotty showers to the west. it moves through the city between about 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. and then continues after 10:00 o'clock along the jersey

side moving offshore afternoon and you see all the sunshine building in with some fair weather clouds bubbling up in the afternoon. but nevertheless, looking at some interesting changes in our forecast after the rain. showers will move in over into the. the low temperature 59 in the city. cooler in our suburbs. wake up to somewhat milder temperatures. this morning the poconos 38 degrees. tomorrow waking up to 51. philadelphia in the upper 50s. wilmington, millville, wildwood atlantic city and dover to the south and east temperature in the 60s. during the day on tuesday, turning sunny with temperatures in the mid 70s. on the exclusive "eyewitness weather" seven say forecast lows stay in the 50s. look at high temperatures. pleasant in the 70s for wednesday, thursday, friday. although friday only 70. saturday and sun day dry and the next chance of rain would be monday. incidentally the average high this time of year is 78. so every day in that seven day is below average. but think of it think way. no tropical storms.
