>> ooh man is shot and killed trying to sneak in his girlfriends' apartment. right now, police are questioning the man who shot him. good morning, everyone. >> good morning, everyone, "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo live in home circle, she has got the details of this investigation this morning. jan? >> reporter: natasha, ukee, a 32 year old man is dead this morning, police say, shot and killed, by a man, who lives in a second story apartment here in homes circle. but, was this a big miss

understanding? that is the big question. police say the victim is actually the boyfriend of the homeowner's daughter, and was possibly mistaken for a home intruder. now there is deadly shooting unfolded here just before midnight at the home circle apartment on the 2700 block of axe factory road, police say the victim was shot after he climbed through a second floor rear bedroom apartment window, shot, they say, by 41 year old man who lives here. well, it turns out, that 41 year old shares his apartment with his 20 year old daughter and police say the victim was her boyfriend. that victim was confronted by the woman's father in a second floor bedroom, police say, there was possibly a struggle, and then the victim was shot in the head. he was taken to torresdale hospital where he later died. now, police say, the initial report for this incident came in as a shooting, and as a home intruder. the 41 year old father called 911. >> his 20 year old daughter was also in another bedroom at the time of the shooting. so, the 20 year old female who

was a resident of the apartment, the 41 year old male, who is the father of the female, were both in separate bedrooms in the apartment, and have both been transported to northeast detectives, as witnesses. >> now, police say, both the daughter and her father are cooperating with police. no word on any charges this morning. this is still a developing story, a lot needs to be sorted out. we'll keep you posted. but for now live in home circle, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> following more breaking news, police on the hunt for two gunmen who shot a woman multiple times, in philadelphia's kensington section. it happened around 12:30, the 3400 block of braddock street. police say the 24 year old was sitting on the front steps after house with friends, when she was shot. she remains hospitalized in critical condition. there is no word right now on motive. just about 5:33, here's your traffic and weather together. >> good morning, everybody, well, basically here is the gist. we start off with a couple

off all that much more. so definitely is noticeably milder than yesterday. into the mid upper 50's, low 60s for some you. as the showers taper off, basically at the end of your typical morning rush, those skies should quickly clear. so i would say, no earlier than the lunch hour or as soon as the lunch hour you will have a chance to get right back outside and enjoy some quiet conditions here, with more and more sun as the day progresses, that does mean some really nice weather later on this afternoon. 75 degrees is our anticipated hi, even despite the passage of this, well, call it, a whimpy cold front. vittoria, over to you. >> what a wimp. you know what? we are seeing a lot of the rain on the roads, too, specifically, traveling moving through the schuylkill expressway, vine st. expressway, we will get to that shot in a second. let's take a look at this shot. well, tough to see here, but anyway, talcony palmyra bridge is now up because of the passing ship, you can casino of see it right here. and right here. so, traveling 73, you can't right now, because it is up, so just keep that in mind if you are headed out and about

breaking flues, leads this headline. police investigating deadly shooting in homes circle, a man shot and killed a manho was climbing in his apartment window, thinking the man was an intruder. but the victim was the gunman's 20 year old daughter's boyfriend. >> four people were injured when suv crashed in building at second and champ plows in olney. they're all in stable condition, officials say the building with a not structurally damaged. >> trump plaza casino closes

in less than half hour. before the year is over, five casinos will have closed with thousands of workers losing their jobs. and, a $40,000 reward is now offered in the shooting death after pregnant woman in frankford. her baby delivered later by c-section also died. megan doto was eight months pregnant at the time, struck in the face by a bullet, along 1500 block of adams avenue. police say doto was not the intended target, and leaves behind a six and hour year old child. $75,000 reward meantime being offered for information leading to the arrest of who ever gunned down two pennsylvania state troopers, over the weekend. corporate brian dixon leaving the blooming grove barracks, late friday whether he was killed, hit by 308 caliber rifle as he arrived for his shift. he remains hospitalized.

of corporal punishment of children. she says even though corporate punishment is legal, she doesn't believe it is in the best interest of children. >> a child should never be hit. >> she said research shows corporal punishment can behind area child's ability to learn. >> children who have been hit with corporal punishment oftentimes language skills are lower than children. >> the medical director for the center for family center and healing at nationwide's children hospital. he says punishment crosses the line into physical abuse. >> when they have prolonged pain, when they have broken bones whether they have disfigurement of the skin, scarring from injuries. >> shows corporate punishment is ineffective. >> majority of cases doesn't get the behavior change that the parents wants. if anything it, makes it more difficult to change a child's behavior in the future. >> as for the parents we talk with, none endures the punishment inflicted on adrian peterson's four year old son. >> i wouldn't use a branch. no way.

>> for a child that age, yes, i think a switch is a little extreme. >> that's horrible, yes, that's absolutely horrible. >> experts say using punishment like time out, taking away privileges, are the best way to correct a child's behavior. they also encourage parents to reward children this they do the right thing. new information just in this morning about kids and booster seats. new survey finds that many parents stop using them way too soon. now the group safe kids world-wide, says children should be at least 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighing between 80 and 100 pounds before they're allowed to ride without a booster seat. for kids four to eight years old, research has shown booster seats can reduce the risk of serious injury in a crash by 45%. that's compared to seatbelts alone. getting close to 6:00 in the morning. you might want to grab that umbrella before you walk out the door. >> katie will let you know if you need it all day today when
