4:37 am

trucks that deliver daily and everywhere in between... ... to bring you a fresh tasting chicken. perdue. we believe in a better chicken. kansas city woman took a bite out after candy bar, and tells police she found a small needle inside reeses peanut butter bar. luckily, she caught it in her teeth before she swallowed it. investigators are now looking at surveillance video, at that store, where she bought it to see if anyone had been tampering with it. the rest of the candy has been removed from the shelves. 4:43, our first official full day of fall. wow, feels like it. >> yes, it does. >> temperatures basically dropped anything from ten to 20 degrees. >> fifty's, this morning low 50's? >> easily, it is a lot cooler outside, a loft suburbs will easily drop down to the 40's for their official early morning lows here today, but bright sunshine, at least. >> that works. >> as long as you're red way
4:44 am
jacket, and your sunglasses, you'll be just fine. smooth sailing today, nice day. so, it makes you want to run out either buy school supplies or go pick a pumpkin. like that casino every weather. just feels so comfortable outside. if you're ready for it, and again, little cool, granted, but some nice weather coming up yet again. that said, things don't necessarily stay so quiet in the days ahead. you can actually see the clouds already starting to build a little bit to our south, and that is coming courtesy of the combination of a new area of low pressure that will be developing here over the carolina, and this will officially and coastal system, just because it is developing off the carolina coastline, but the question right now is how doses it really impact us? more than anything, i think we end one some rainout of it, limit atment of temperature warm that can take place by thursday. so today is fine. tomorrow clouds start to build as area of low pressure continues to gather up some juice and some strength here, but notice, as it moves in for
4:45 am
the next few days, we're generally just going to evening out some wet weather specifically on thursday, and then it is going get on out to sea and we end up with pretty nice ends to the week and nice upcoming weekend, too. mid week hurt l, but could end up with pretty soaking rain. 07 degrees our expected hi, what a beautiful way to kick start the season, right? again the high is at best 70 degrees. so most of the day you're only in the 60s. so you have to keep that in mind. 54 degrees for the overnight low, underhands full of clouds. once the sun goes down, tomorrow rash ash hand a begins at sunset. clouds will be building, so you won't see too much sunlight as the day progresses, and then thursday is the day that we've got to keep an eye out for the wet weather, right now just have the umbrella on stand by, ukee, back over to you. >> katie, thank you. eagles cornerback cary williams ruffling threat erring, claiming chip kelly practice style is making the birds tired come game day. one example of the eagles
4:46 am
defensive secondary getting burned deep, williams, as well, by former eagles desean jackson of all people. d jack embarrased the birds on this touchdown and danced in the end zone when he was done. some players were out of position and that could be fueling williams' frustration. >> and i know we ask our guys to run a lot during practice, i met with carry a little while ago, he came in a little while ago, i think he was frustrated. and i understand that, karsy a competitor. i have no issues with carry. >> stay tuned. back to you. >> right now 4:46. still ahead on "eyewitness news" this morning, coffee giant decides to mix one of its roasts with beer, yes, details on that coming up. first, what's coming up tonight on cbs-3.

4:48 am
here is a look at your morning headlines, innocent team is dead, another
4:49 am
critically injured, after shots were fired outside of einstein medical center in olney. police say it started after a large fire broke out nearby, between 50 people, mostly students. investigators are reviewing surveillance video to id that shooter. overnight, the us began its air strike campaigning targeting isis in syria where two thirds of their militants are based. military campaign was not invited by the syrian government. and, three people were taken to the hospital overnight, after an overnight house fire. this happened on ninth street, in north philly. they are all expected to be okay. the cause of that fire is under investigation. >> 4:49 in the morning, let's get a look on business news. >> jill wagner joins us from the stock exchange, the delay general motors car recall, now hearing even more deaths could be linked to it, is that what you are hearing? >> yes, general motors says the numbers of victims who died from those faulty ignition switches has gone up. originally, they said, 13 people were killed, in
4:50 am
connection with those faulty ignition switches. now the number has hit 21. kenneth fine berg, in charge every compensation, says that he's received 143 death claims as of friday. now, gm admits it, new about those faulty switches, for years, but it didn't issue those recalls, on 2.6 million small cars, until february. ukee, erika? >> we don't always think about coffee and beer going well together, but starbucks look to go change that? >> move over, pumpkin spice latte. starbucks is test ago coffee that tastes like beer. the dark barrel latte made with expresso, topped with whip cream, carmel, now only available in few stores in florida and ohio, and it is getting mixed reviewing. i guess it depends on whether you want beer in the morning. >> sounds like acquired taste. >> yes, that's a good way to put that. >> okay. >> you may be want to talk to somebody if you are craving
4:51 am
beer in the morning, you snow. >> maybe get little help. >> all right, thank you. >> coming up after a short break, traffic and weather together. we do it on the 3's, we'll be
4:52 am
4:53 am
good morning, everyone, unfortunately, traveling on 95 will not be eat i thing today. live look, 95 southbound, right at the area of bridge street, an overturned truck, has flipped over the southbound side on to the northbound side, and now we have debris all over the roadway. so, 95 southbound, either direction, at bridge, it is one lane only. my best advice for you, if you are traveling in this area, because it is still very active, and we have some major clean up ahead, is if you are headed out of northeast philadelphia, stay on the roosevelt boulevard, either jump on the schuylkill if you are headed downtown or stay on
4:54 am
the boulevard, then make left at aramingo, jump on i95 there. two different ways to maneuver around. >> this but arming woe probably be your best bet. once again, 95 southbound, at bridge, overturned truck, one lane only in either direction, traveling in the northbound direction, of 95, it is not awful, but do you have somewhat of a gaper delay. we're more concerned about the southbound side just because there is going to be so much volume to build throughout the rush hour, so we will continue to keep you updated on that for sure n regard to your rush, really nothing out there besides, that so traveling on the schuylkill, 476, the pa turnpike, you are in the green. no major delays, however, for mass transit. and it seems to be that i have to deliver the bad news, because katie is going to deliver the good news. >> yes, that seems like it has been the pattern liltly, sorry. >> not fair! >> you know, i wish i could actually take credit for the forecast, because this will be another one of those real nice days. but do you need to be prepared, when you walk out the door. with a couple every extra weather-related accessories, one of them first and for most will be extra layer, you need
4:55 am
a sweatshirt, or you need a jacket, something like that, that's going to keep you warm in the morning, but probably be able to get rid of it later on today. here's what's up. so we have few clouds beginning to build up across the carolinas, obviously some rain, that's an area of low pressure just starting to get its act together. so today we still have high pressure on our side. over time the potential for rain doses go up significantly. now, wednesday, and friday, we gave you 10 percent chance because that area of low pressure could bring some rain wednesday night, into thursday, and then thursday night, into early friday morning. but, thursday, obviously, the day, where you probably want to keep that umbrella on hand. meantime, here's where we stand. temperatures chilly. only in the four's, quite few locations, outside of philadelphia. but we do expect to you get to about 70 at best today. so the afternoon looks real nice. but sure does feel like fall outside. meanwhile, tomorrow, the clouds are on the uphill climb here, on the increase, and then on thursday temperatures held way back, because that far wet weather moving in. ukee, back to you. >> katie, thank you amount
