we've got a surplus on the thermometer compared to yesterday, which is good news but it is still cool. the wind however will start to kick up on us and we will see more clouds today. transitions are upon us here courtesy of the next approaching storm system and this storm system looks like it will mean business for us here in the way of way of rain and wind specifically. it looks like timing has shifted so slightly for us here some spots could start to see wet weather. lets take you outside. the eye want to show you what is going on first and foremost here in the city. things are quiet, sky cam three, ever so tranquil at this point in center city but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is quiet every where. when we will go next to storm scan three here we go storm system beginning to really show its cards here or show its hand to us as a result of this storm basically just moving from south to north, you know you will begin for the heavy rain that it is currently moving in out

"eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao joins us to bring us up to date, jane. >> reporter: good morning. two lives are lost here in ogontz this morning, a woman, a pregnant woman eight months pregnant shot and killed here on the street and her baby deliver at the hospital also died. the search is on for their killers. police are still processing the scene behind me taking a close eye, close look at that white car but processing shell casings left behind. they spent 20 spent shell casings on the sidewalk and street. shooting happened here just before 1:00 a.m. at 20th street and nedrow avenue. a 26 year-old man was shot in the back and leg and taken to

einstein medical center in critical condition but he is expected to survive. the 25 year-old woman, he was with was shot in the head. the arm. both legs. she was pronounced dead at the hospital. then doctors realized that she was eight months pregnant as well they tried to save her baby but child died an hour later. now police are trying to determine a motive and track down the suspect. they have limited information at this point about the shooter but they are optimistic that video in the area will help. >> fortunately we did find some businesses in the immediate area that do have have exterior surveillance camera. so, homicide detectives are on location trying to get a copy of those recordings and hopefully, they can help us, with this investigation, of this double shooting, that led to a homicide. >> reporter: back out here live on the scene, you can see that detective are taking a close look at the that white car, police have spent majority of the morning taking a look at that.

they believe that is victim's car and that both she and man were inside during the shooting. they say there are bullet holes and blood and that is why they believe they were inside, they were however outside a car and lying on the ground when police arrived. police are also following up this morning, again with that surveillance video but also with a number of interviews, there are several people at the round house right now being interviewed and they are also interviewing the the surviving victim whom we are told is cooperating with police and interviewing with police as we speak. live from organs, jane carabao, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". developing right now, catherine knott of southampton is one of three bucks county resident expect to turn themselves into police this morning. we're told they will face charges in an attack on the same sex couple in center city. also being told she's the the daughter of the chalfont police chief. the other suspects are 24 year old philip williams of warminster and 26 year-old kevin harrigan of warrington.

they face several charges, including aggravated assault. well, happening today a bankruptcy auction for now closed revel casino is scheduled for later this morning. lawyer for florida developer who offered 90 million-dollar for the the property, says that there are multiple bids for it. the 2.4 billion dollar hotel and casino closed september 2nd after a little more than two years in operation. it never turn a profit. meanwhile a budget crisis in the atlantic city could mean more layoffs. mayor don guardian says he will ask the the state for permission to layoff a number of city workers. casino bankruptcies are costing the city millions in tax revenue. his request could come as early as next week. city officials want to reopen most of the the union contracts to achieve salary and benefit reductions. pennsylvania governor tom corbett is expect to sign philadelphia's cigarette tax law today. the senate passed the bill yesterday after the the house passed it earlier this week.

money generated from that $2 per pack tax will help erase the philadelphia's multi million-dollar budget gap. the 19 year-old accused of shooting two other teenagers and killing a 15 year-old girl is now in custody. surrounded by his family, darren person surrendered yesterday. police say he he opened fire during a fight among dozens of high school student in olney on monday. a stray bullet hit and killed 15 year-old iisha roman, she was just walking home from school. other victim is a 19 year-old man. we're told he is in critical condition this morning. a delaware county teacher is behind bars this morning accused of sexually assaulting a 15 year old student. >> authorities arrested bill barber at hits home, he teaches physical education and coaches football and baseball at garnett valley middle school but sometime over past few months authorities believe he took a relationship with one of his students just too far. school leaders plan to meet with high school and middle

school student to discuss his a receipt. barber has been placed on administrative leave. the driver in sunday's deadly tour bus crash in delaware now faces charges. police arrested 56 year-old man of flushing york. they say he sped through the curve of an exit ram in new castle cause ago this bus to overturn. the the crash left two people dead, 48 more were injured, he is charged with two counts of operation of a vehicle causing death of another person. meanwhile police have a sus he can in the difficulties experience of the university of virginia student, they are looking for three two-year old jesse leroy matthew junior. police say matthew was last person seen with hanna graham who disappeared september 13th. he has been on the run since saturday when he stopped by a police station asking for a lawyer and then sped away. investigators say matthews has contact, in pennsylvania, he faces charges of abduction, with intent to harm. president obama addressed

you may remember the the story of the local dog who ran away from home ape somehow made it all the way to port lap, oregon. check out what happened when they got back. we are told she made it home last night the but just after getting off the plane she made a break for it again. need less to say she was happy to be back with her owners. >> that is the last one, girls. >> now, the owners were able to find her thanks to an id tracking chip that she had implanted as a puppy and that little tail was going so fast. >> that it was. >> welcome home. in sports eagles corn are back cary williams is backing off his comments that the eagles practices are tiring out the the players, and even so after sunday's game. williams and eagles were back on the practice field

and toward early evening. all from this area of low pressure that continues to gather its strength and moisture and it is, a quote unquote coastal storm system that will be drawing in, on not just good atlantic moisture to help, douse with us rain and kick up the wind at the coastline especially. noon today, we are going to see spots of sunshine and we will see those included thickening up from south to north. 5:00 p.m. we have a couple showers through southern most counties but later tonight here we go. this will be some heavy rain. it will be a wash out essentially for tomorrow but heavier rain looks like it is coming overnight into early tomorrow morning, and then we will just be stuck with lingering rain off and on throughout the take but very much widespread, coverage with that, so no one, you know, gets the exception here. so, watch us for period of rain, heavier on thursday morning. we could be talking within to 2 inches. we could use that kind of

rain. shouldn't be enough to cause major flooding but it shouldn't slow you down for sure because it is an all day event. i would say worst commute is morning drive but second half of the day doesn't look that ideal either as we are waiting for this storm to make it retreat. it also wants to slow down as it exit here too. we might be left with lingering clouds and showers on try but the good news is that is transition day here. weekend looks awesome right now. vittoria, over to you. >> thanks very much, katie. good morning everyone. traveling this morning will be a totally different story then it was yesterday with so much happening with i-95, we're calmer, a little more quiet, we have a lot to be thankful for. if you are traveling i-95 at philadelphia international the airport we have an accident scene, vehicle went in the guardrail here on the southbound side police are on the scene, this just happened, i would say really about a half an hour ago. we don't see any emergency teams on the the scene which is a good sign. there does than the seem to be

any injuries. it is out there. give yourself some more time and just practice extra caution generally all over the area. traveling on the schuylkill expressway in delays in either direction, breeze east and westbound. not only within your western suburbs but downtown maybe heading to the walt whitman bridge area. rest of the speed sensors in our western suburbs look great. 422 at 55. fifty-five at parts of the schuylkill. fifty-one traveling on 202. no major problems the pennsylvania turnpike. traveling the new jersey turnpike, however, southbound a different story right at the delaware memorial bridge. we have left and center lanes block as a result of the accident. no major delays for mass transit, erika and ukee. we have breaking news this morning. philadelphia police are investigating a fatal shooting in ogontz. woman eight months pregnant watts shot to death at 20th and needrow earlier this morning. doctors delivered her baby but the baby died an hour after birth. a man was also shot. he is also in critical

condition. a woman and two men charge in the beating of the same sex couple are supposed to turn themselves in later today. couple says group used anti gay slurs during the attack. it happened in center city on the 11th of september. we will be right back.

we have an incident traveling on i-95 southbound, right near philadelphia international airport. vehicle gone in the guardrail at median here. it does seem to be that, as he will well as police and tow truck on the scene, one of the good thing is that i never saw any sort of medical attention, for this vehicle here. so that is a good sign that there may have been just minor injuries, but still pretty serious out there if you are moving through this area just use extra precaution. use some extra caution. traveling on the the schuylkill expressway in major delays in either direction east and westbound is a smooth ride as we continue off to a smooth ride on 422, 55 miles an hour, 51 on 202, pennsylvania turnpike, northeast extension moving really well and 76 is a breeze at 55 miles an hour as well. i-95 is the same. we are dealing with the southbound accident on the new jersey turnpike and delaware memorial bridge. left and center lanes being block. be careful.
