chances of precipitation i will show you coming up on the eyewitness weather seven day forecast, todd? >> carol, thank you, looks great. tragic accident a mother is killed and her sonnies injured after being struck by a septa bus in south philadelphia. it happened last night at 15th and washington avenue. walt hunter has details from the scene. >> reporter: even veteran officers were shaken by the sight they encountered when they raced here to the 1500 block have of washington avenue. a mother, run over by a september bus, ape her eight year-old son still at her side. beneath wheels of the september bus, police say that a 29 year-old hot mother died as she was struck crossing washington avenue at 15th street with her eight year-old son, at her side. >> just running in front of the bus. she's running that way and you could see the bus, you could see the front of bus actually strike her. >> reporter: when officers raced to the scene around

7:00 p.m. they found a little will boy suffered cuts, bruises and a concussion when he fell to the ground. still trying to help his mother. >> the officers did tell me when they arrived he was trying to render aid to his mother and he was sitting there with his mother when they got here. >> reporter: rushed from the scene to children's hospital to be treated the the little boy now has his grandmother at his side police say, meanwhile, the video cameras capture the the entire tragic scene. that video is being analyzed by accident investigators. preliminarily investigators believe... >> well, police say speeding suv ran a stop sign and hit a sedan in east mt. airy. crash killed a grandfather and injured his grandson. it happen at east gorgeus lane and the victim were returning home from football practice. two men ran from the suv, but were later taken into police custody. a health alert in new

inside his home. kyle has been out of school at yardville elementary for the past week after a slew of tests and a stint in the hospital. >> he is not getting better just yet. he is still weak. very easily winded. i'm really scared. terrified. >> reporter: news of her child's illness comes on the the heels of the the death of another preschooler at yardville elementary. boy died from what health officials believe could have been and as of yet unidentified respiratory illness. the cdc is expediting tests to determine if the the enter o virus is to blame. >> we're very curb. >> reporter: joseph wright has children a at yardville he will in meantry and is deeply concern, what is most unsettling is what he described, as a vague letter, from hamilton township officials, sent to parents, describing the symptoms of respiratory infections and how to prevent them. >> the principal called today, a very vague phone call, that a boy passed away which is the first that we have heard of anybody even sick. >> reporter: for now kyle

remains weak and winded while his mother can only watch, wait and hepp for a full recovery. >> we have to just wait it out and take all of his treatments, his medication, and it will pass. >> reporter: we have reached out to school officials ape still no comment just yet. we do understand, that the the preschool classroom is being sanitized just as a precaution. she also tells us that she has informed school officials of her son's diagnosis. in hamilton township, new jersey, natasha brown, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". it has been two weeks and authorities continue to look for accused cop killer eric frein. authorities say frein researched ways to survive at policeman hunt and had been planning for years. he is accused of shooting two pennsylvania state troopers killing one, investigators say, that they searched a computer hard drive, that frein used. >> the search of his computer hard drive indicates extensive internet research on topics such as how to avoid policeman

hunts, use of various law enforcement technology and skills related to survival. >> police searched and cleared the abandoned in at bunk hill falls where they believed frein may have been hiding. he has been on the run for two weeks in the rug he had terrain near his parent's home in the area. thousands of cyclist have been about to pedal their way from south jersey to the shore as part of the city to shore bike ride to raise money to battle multiple sclerosis. it is happening now, our steve paterson is live at the starting point in cherry hill, good morning, steve. >> reporter: good morning, todd. some cyclist starting to arrive here, you know what a big deal this is, every single year, the national ms society attached to this, they will be sorry. we are be here at the event. you can see the organizers setting up, and things are starting to get pretty lively right here. 7,000 cyclist will ride from here, patco's wood crest

station in cherry hill all the way to ocean city, new jersey for their finish line celebration. there will be 1200 volunteers here, for what is shaping up to be a record breaking year. that is because, this 204 event, on track to raise more than $6 million to support ms research. that is because it is most daunting number i have i could give you more than 14,000 local people living with ms, asking for help, in the area. but since 1981, this event has raised more than $50 million, of course, this year we will add on to that totallal. so as we get a look at a cyclist getting ready to gear up for what is ready to be a long bike ride they are doing it for a very good cause this morning. we will talk to cyclist and some of the event organizers and vendors to find out why this is so important to the people in the area that is it for now from cherry hill, i'm steve paterson now back to you, todd. thank you, steve.

a 15 year-old will be charged as an dult in connection with the murder of a teenage girl outside of einstein medical center. quadir gibson is now facing charges in the death of iisharahman. he is a star running back for father judge high school. this is the second rest in this case. police alleged that gibson brought the suspect shooter darren person the two scene and direct him to open fire. only "eyewitness news" was there when person turned himself into police on tuesday. jesse leroy matthew, junior has returned to virginia from texas. he is facing charges in the

disappearance of university of virginia student hanna graham. the 18 year-old was last seen with matthew on surveillance video at a restaurant september 13th. police in charlottesville are now expanding the search for graham into rural areas outside of town. oklahoma police say that a man who was fired from his job friday, turned on two co-workers, beheading one and stabbing the other. police say it appears to be a case of work place violence but there is another angle to this story that prompted them to bring in the fbi. cbs correspondent danielle nottingham reports from los angeles. >> reporter: by the time police arrived on the the scene at this food processing plant in moore, oklahoma one woman was dead, her head severed, another was stabbed and the suspect seriously injured. police say this man all the on noland had just been fired from his job there. he entered another part of the plant and attack a co worker

with a knife. that first victim was beheaded. police say noland then stabbed another woman. >> he was not targeting anyone and wasn't going specifically after them. it appears they were just in his way as he came in. >> reporter: witnesses called 911 when the company's chief operating office ever and least serve sheriff deputy confronted and shot noland. >> it sound like he is running around out here. >> that ace gun shot. >> reporter: police say department's actions saved lives. >> this guy definitely was not going to stop. he didn't stop until he was shot. >> reporter: noland had served time in prison for assaulting a police officer. that is where's parentally coverted to islam. >> information is obtain that he recently tried to started to try to convert some of his co-workers, to the muslim religion. >> reporter: because of of recent beheadings bias lamb i can militants in syria police called in the fbi to help investigate noland's past.

danielle nottingham for cbs-3 news. charges are filed against a man whom police say set a fire inside an air track control to you inner chicago backing up flames, backing up flames, cross the country. thirty-six year-old brian howard, a contractor, is accused offsetting a fire at and air traffic control center in aurora, illinois. investigators say he used gas to fuel the flames and then slit his wrists. chicago's o'hare and midway airports came to a screeching halt, united, mesh, southwest, and delta all canceled more than 1,000 flights, creating a ripple effect across the the nation. well, we are in store for some more great weather here carol, it is a gift. >> it really is a gift. all of last week was supposed to have been perfect and then that coastal storm came, cropping up and moving up, and then thursday was just, well, just horrendous with the rain, over 2 inches in many

hooping right now "eyewitness news" reporter steve paterson is live in cherry hill, steve? >> reporter: well, live at the starting point, todd we are starting to see cyclist get ready for that final preparation before they head off, city to shore, 2014. the national ms society, of course, is attached to this. this is a very big event every year, we have coffin, one of the organizers, how big is it, of an event and why is it so perfect for people in the area. >> this is the the 34th year we have done this event. first year we had 300 cyclist. this year we will have 7500 cyclist on the road and they will raise an estimate six million-dollar. that money to research and provides local services to people living with ms. >> reporter: how many people, you know, live with ms in the area how many people does it impact directly. >> our conservative estimate is around 14,000 but we think there is more than. that those are only people that we have in our database. >> reporter: so how did this event start and how has it

become such a huge event that it now is. >> reporter: one of those things that pick up momentum year after year. it is a great event. it has a great destination. have been loves to get to ocean city. what we do the the first time we get to the finish line and see all those people helped by this event and come back year after year after year. >> reporter: that is right. so what i understand is there a one day event and then there is a two day event. >> two day event is cycling back. you can ride 57 this morning or a hundred this morning and then ride back the next day and end upright back here in the parking lot in patco. >> reporter: i have a friend that is doing this thing this morning. i cannot imagine riding from city hall, to, you know, a couple blocks away. i'm not a rider. have you done this? how difficult is it to go from city to shore. >> first of all, has your friend trained. >> reporter: i'm sure she has. >> great thing about this event is there is great support. if you get tired or a flat as you can see behind me here there is a bike mechanic here

picture on instagram and wrote, thanks to chip kelly and the eagles for sending the surprise gifts and flowers to my daughter. and incredible rescue at a fiery seen in kensington. jacqueline lopez, was pumping gas thursday night, when another vehicle, ran into her car and the pump igniting this fire. lopez's three-year old daughter was in the back seat when the flames erupted. a passenger in the other car quickly jumped in to action and pulled the child to safety. the women suffered severe burns. a sex tape scandal rocks rowan university, two student and a entire fraternity chapter, are now suspended. after the tape was posted on line. first it was hit by a white suv, then a slow moving white truck, and then by a red truck. the father of the owner of the car says that street has had problems with sun glare, and speeding, as well. well, ford motor company recalls more than 850,000 cars, over a potentially dangerous air bag problem. ford says that the air bags can suffered a short circuit and failed to deploy in a crash, the recall includes some of the 2013 and 2014 models of these cars, the ford fusion, the escape, and the lincoln mkz. ford says it will replace computer module in affect cars, no accidents or injuries have been reported. we are on quite the run here, carol with this weather, i don't know what to do here. >> i know, except for thursday when it was just so awful. >> just one day. >> yes. we had a wonderful week leading up to. that yesterday was phenomenal
