diligently to get this moving so hopefully it will be out of the way soon. we will have that more on the other side. now that texas hospital treating a man for ebola they admit they miss handles that case. >> as omar villafranca reports more than a dozen people including five school children may be at risk. >> reporter: some parent in dallas say they won't send their kids to school today after hearing five students in the area machine toward at home for signs of the ebola virus. health officials believe there are among 12 to 18 people who may have had contact with the the first patient diagnosed with the the disease, in the u.s. >> the students didn't have any symptoms and so the odds of them passing on any sort of virus is very low. >> reporter: health officials are also monitoring the ivy apartment complex. paramedics transported the patient from an apartment there. he has been identified by cbs dallas station k tv t as thomas duncan. >> what is going on so the kids won't get sick and have

been. >> reporter: federal health officials are trying to figure out why the medical staff at texas health released the infect patient when he first felt ill. duncan originally went to the hospital on september 26th, complaining of fever and abdominal pains, a week after flying in from liberia. a nurse reading from an ebola checklist asked if he had traveled from africa. he answered yes but was released anyway. >> the the key hallmark of the triage process is where have you been along with having these symptoms and how long have they been developing for. >> reporter: duncan was admitted to texas health two days later where he remains in isolation n dallas omar villafranca for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". a hawaii patient remains in isolation in the honolulu hospital over ebola concerns. the the man check in yesterday morning and under going testing to rule out several conditions includinge bowl a the state's department of health could not confirm if the man traveled to or from west africa in most recent

the way. it has been out of here for over an hour. well, actually more than. that a few hours really. so traveling northbound on i-95 you may have just have a touch of the slow down at this point at cottman avenue but since no volume to war bit it is not much of a concern. looks at the schuylkill expressway camera flipped around to the toll plaza right at the pennsylvania turnpike, in problems in either direction, 76 not only looks great, but in your entire western suburbs, but also around center city maybe heading town towards the call the whitman bridge. average speed sensors in the 50's. traveling in northeast philadelphia we have construction on the roosevelt boulevard in either direction near cottman avenue. it is ongoing until 6:00 a.m. it is in the inner drive. be careful of. that also watch out for construction, new jersey, 295 northbound until 6:00 a.m. right around the black horse pike, ukee. >> torey, thank you. signs of home in atlantic city. recently closed casino could soon reopen. brookfield u.s. holdings won the auction for the old revel casino. cot will pay 110 million-dollar for the the bankrupt casino that shut down

because he saw it in his bathroom. we are learning more about the troubled past of the man accused of kidnapping a university of virginia student jesse matthew who was accused of sexual assault in virginia, when he was a student there in 2003. matthew later left the school and was never charged with the crime. new police say he kidnaped hanna graham last month and she is still missing. matthew has also been connected to another student's murder five years ago. a child abduct more than 12 years ago will soon be reunited with her father. investigators say sabrina allen's mother kidnaped her in 2002. she was just four at the time. after a long search, authorities arrest dead dora lawrence and brought her back to travis county, texas. >> i will ask for -- she's in pretty bad shape is my understanding.

a 17 year-old girl is recovering from the gunshot wound to her arm after a shooting on cottage street in wissonoming. police recovered a gun and a suspect is in custody. neighbors are calling for more crossing guards in nicetown after a six year-old boy was struck and killed by a car. investigators say that boy dashed into 15th street from between parked cars. the driver who hit him remained at the scene. a texas happies under investigation after a man diagnosed with ebola was permitted to leave, thomas duncan told hospital personnel he recently been to liberia but was released. he was readmitted a few days later. health officials are monitoring anybody had contact with duncan. here's something to think about next time you are driving across the tacony palmyra bridge. check out crazy video from

police have a suspect in custody and they tell us he was a wanted man. "eyewitness news" reporter syma chowdhry joins us at police headquarters with more on this, same, good morning. >> a teenage girl was taken to the hospital after being shot in the arm, and police say witnesses helped identified the suspect. a 17 year-old girl is recovering this morning after being shot in the arm, police say she was sitting next to a man on the porch of her grandmother's house in the 5900 block of cottage street in wissonoming around 11:00 last night. that is when a shoot's approach them. after a verbal argument with the girl the man fired five shots, one at point blank range hitting her in the right arm. >> the bullet broke her arm. >> the man shot and shot at her again this time hitting several homes in the process. >> she ran to several houses, and her grandmother's house and two other houses next to her grand mom's house trying
