. this is cbs-3 "eyewitness news". and today is friday, october 3rd, good morning, i'm ukee washington. >> i'm erika von tiehl. developing right now, another american has tested positive for ebola. >> a 33 year old television cameraman fell ill in liberia while working with a doctor from the university of pennsylvania. meanwhile, concerns about ebola in america continue to grow. now, more than 100 people are being monitored after having director indirect contact with infected patients, thomas eric duncan. now, duncan's half brother, wilfred smallwood, said dunkin had symptoms for five days while he stayed at relative's dallas apartment. >> he was hot, then started vomiting in the bathroom. then i called the ambulance to pick him up. >> travel for duncan and four

of his family members is prohibited. those family members are quarantined at their home in dallas, and ordered not to have visitors. >> well, new this morning, back home, firefighters battle a house fire, at 26th and oxford just after 1:30. that's where they found heavy smoke, coming from the second floor no injuries are reported. outrage in one philadelphia neighborhood after vandals strike in the middle of the night. >> now, police hope newly-released surveillance video will help lead them to an arrest. steve patterson joins you now at police headquarters with exclusive video what could be a fourth suspect. steve? >> yes, outrage, pretty much sums it up, erika, ukee, it is a stunning display of vandalism caught on camera, half dozen vehicles, at least hundreds of dollars in damage. if you are not by your tv, i want you to come and check this out. it looks like the crooks are

having the time of their lives in this video, released by police, one male suspect, two females puncturing, slashing tires, she in two block raids just between the 1600 block of worrell and the 4,000 block of pots street. police are looking at at least block of time between september 30th, likely in their teens, 20's, we did some digging and again found additional video, with what seems to be a fourth suspect, in a lightly colored suv, appears to be waiting for the crooks. we also found a woman who had her tires slashed, and of course, she's not too happy about this. it is absolutely disgracefulment like they had no respect for anybody this neighborhood, or what they work for, or how hard they work, they just don't care. >> it is to has cost that

woman about $400 for her tires. we also found another gentleman who said it is going to cost him about $200, again, that's adding up. east detectives are working the case, hoping by us playing the video for you this morning that somebody can lead to some tips that will lead to the capture of the suspects. so if you know anything, give police a call. live at police headquarters, steve patterson, cbs-3, eyewitness into so frustrating. 4:33, our forecast with katie. >> good morning, everybody, we will see the temperatures begin to plummet off, as the weekends approaches, but for now, we stayed somewhat steady, somewhat level, into the low 70s, where we belong, since yesterday, and we're expecting that once again here today. now, over the course of the weekends, well, those numbers start to drop off here. we see the hills sort of continue its downward spiral, beyond the line, that signifies average. soap, yep. for that basically means we're certainly going to be seeing temperatures that fall below the seasonable average here in the couple days coming up here. it is a shock to the system, when this happens for the

first time. let's take you out, there storm scan3, still very quiet, any specs of green you are finding don't worry about them, just clouds here and, there overall, just off to very quiet start. but the next cold front, as we've been talking about, basically, all week long, it does wait off in the wings here, currently still slowly trucking eastward, and now, it is over indianna and it does make its arrival here overnight and into tomorrow. temperatures low 60s for the most part into the mid 50's, as we head around the region here, eye eyewitness day planner, pleasant day, see general mix of sun and clouds, temperatures climb to go about 72 later today. again that's right on par with the seasonal average for this day of the year. so looks like nice day, before that front does arrive. vittoria, good morning. >> good morning, katie. good morning, everyone, traveling on all of the majors, great ride, we're really starting off on nice note. take a look first at the schuylkill expressway not far from center city. >> this shot around spring garden, eastbound and westbound moving well.

only few vehicles out there. and it is not only if you are traveling around center city but also within your western suburbs, anyway how you cut it, it looks awesome. take a look at the ben franklin bridge, we do have some of the sparkling yellow lights, construction holds you back almost every day, so traveling on the benny would say more so as we move into rush hour, this will haunt you, as of now taking out the right lane and traffic running smoothly. fifty-five on 95, 16, 295, might want to slow down bit there. 50's traveling on the schuylkill, also 55, 95, moving into delaware county. we do have construction on the roosevelt boulevard southbound between commonly and levick, three lanes blocked in the inner drive until 6:00 a.m. i had to maneuver around this myself. so, you are definitely going to want to find alternates, at certain intersections, as they continue to work on this paving project. no delays, however, for mass transit. ukee? >> torrey, thank you. eight people expected to testify in a hearing focusing on the investigation into the philadelphia va hospital.

back in july, members of the house committee on veterans affairs, highlighted problems including mismanagement, and data manipulation. at the va. today, committee members will follow up to see if those problems have been addressed. the philly va overseas benefits for more than 800,000 vets around the region. police are investigating a triple shooting in kensington that sent three people to the hospital. investigators found 13 shell casings at the scene on the 3,000 block of lee street around 10:30 last night. investigators say, one of the bullets went through a second floor bedroom. luckily, no one was inside the home that was injured. so far, there is cents no word on motive for that shooting. >> a suspect is in custody in connection with deadly stabbing in university city. police say around 7:30 last night a 57 year old man was stabbed multiple times inside a home on the 3200 block of summer street. the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. investigators say, they have a 59 year old man in custody,

here in the u.s. the first person diagnosed in the united states, thomas duncan, remains in a dallas hospital this morning. he's being accused of lying to liberian authorities, about having contact with affected individuals in africa. >> police are searching for two women and one man, caught on camera, puncturing tires in cars in june at a the vandalism took place along worrell street and potter street earlier this week. >> and, there are no reports of injuries, after a fire near 26th and oxford street, in north philadelphia. it broke out around 1:30 this morning. the cause of that fire is under investigation. 4:49 in the morning. time for check on business news. >> mine watch's jill wagner joins us from the stock stock exchange, buzz about another general motors recall. jill, what's the deal? >> reporter: yes, that's right. this time the cars are new, gm is recalling more than 97,000 cars and trucks in the u.s. from 2013 and 2014 because of the possible defects in the chassis control module. vehicles include the chevy tahoe's, suburban's, cadillac
