today, it is wednesday objecting eighth good morning i'm natasha brown. i'm erika von tiehl. here are stories we are following today, happening today, some students in philadelphia say they are going on strike, to protest cancellation of the teachers contract. we have been live from district headquarters. new dangers in the fight of ebola virus, why the pentagon says u.s. troops may come into contact with the deadly disease. allegations of a sex assault at trump taj mahal in atlantic city and suspect are police officers. more on those stories coming up. but first lets get our forecast from katie, man that rain overnight. >> i had branches on my car. >> oh, no, just little ones. >> that is good. >> but clearly there was a

what the src has done officials say don't plan on teachers going on strike. but that doesn't mean students aren't planning something of their own, they have been organizing a demonstration on facebook and they are asking philadelphia students not to go to class today instead stand outside in support of their teachers. now this demonstration comes just two days after the src suddenly and unilaterally canceled its labor contract with the teachers union and on monday the district announced it would force union members to pay into their health care benefits. the the change starting in december will amount to $55 to $150 a month based on the teachers salary. src says this will send 44 million-dollar back to school this year and two hub million-dollar over the next four years, a steady source of funning that the district desperately needs and move, now being back by the mayor. >> the the action unfortunately was necessary given that the fact that the system is broken. there is no more money to be had by anywhere.

>> i'm in disagreement with the mayor. i think just like they expect us, as teachers, to constantly be recreating how we will work with less and still be expected to dot same. i will expect more of my politicians. >> reporter: teachers say they were blind sidedded by the move even calling it disrespectful and cowardly. pft plans to challenge this in court over next 20 some days. students plan to make their voices heard later today as they don't go to class and many of them say they will stand outside of school, protesting what the src has done. that is they say that starts at 8:00 this morning. we are live outside of district headquarters in spring garden, jane carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". lets get back to katie and it is certainly windy out there. >> it is, we are dealing with the persistent southerly flow but it will turn more westerly throughout the day but remember a lot of times for us to see a big drop in temperatures behind a cold front you need wind flow to

shift. we will not see too much chilly wind flow. right new on sky cam three the classic shaking of the camera to indicate we have wind out there but even in atlantic city skies are clearing out nicely. let me show you storm scan three where we have rain and storms that rumbled through overnight. some of them were gusty at times and, potent across atlantic county, burlington, ocean county where we did in fact have a severe thunderstorm risk posted but that is all clearing out. out to the west we are seeing skies do the same which bodes well in time for our lunar eclipse happening later this morning. we have got that wind flow starting to shift, basically out of the southwest right now but this is your sustained wind, 13, 14 miles an hour, you will definitely notice. that i notice add lieutenant of leaves strewn about the roadways and they could be damp. so may be a few slick spots. rain is gone. sixty-five at the airport. we are in the 60's around the board. despite passage of the cold front we have a pretty mild

day underway here because of that westerly flow that will take over. seventy-four is the spec high in philly despite passage of the cold front. clearing skies. it will be breezy but should be a nice day overall. the vittoria, good morning. >> good morning, katie. good morning everyone. if you are traveling on all of our majors we are moving well out there. ninety-five, schuylkill expressway, vine street expressway, wide open, nice and clear. looking at 95 around south philadelphia you will notice in either direction north and southbound only a few vehicles out there and nothing to worry about. it doesn't matter if you are traveling on i-95 in south philadelphia, northeast fail or delaware county, it looks great. schuylkill expressway does. traveling on 76 around downtown philadelphia, this shot here not too far right across the street from boat house row looking great in either direction. speed sensors are reflecting still that good news. fifty-five is your average on 422, same thing on 202 and traveling on 76 right around 476 and the pennsylvania turnpike, 55 is still our

average. we have a water main break in new jersey. in moorestown and mount laurel. it is a pretty licensing stretch of real estate that is closed. if you are traveling around this area hartford road would be your best alternate at this time. also in new jersey, on new jersey turnpike north bound right around exit 7a, i195 we had an earlier truck fire extinguished but may still have remnant on the road there. on the pennsylvania turnpike watch out for construction in either direction between fort washington and bensalem, you may notice lane blockage or two but still not causing too much of a problem. mass transit, there are no delays at all, natasha. a five car crash in north philadelphia send two people to the hospital, this was the scene just before 2:00 at second and erie. a 23 year-old man is hospitalized with a broken leg, 26 year-old man was also hurt and is in stable condition. no word what caused this accident. happening today an arraignment for jeremiah jackson man accused of murdering a woman and stuffing

her body in the duffle bag. twenty-three year-old lauer an arujo was robbed, beaten and strangled in july and then her suv was torched. police say that the suspect and art institute graduate lived in the same west philadelphia boarding house. a new york state trooper and nypd officer are both under arrest this morning accused of sexually assaulting a woman at trump taj mahal casino in atlantic city. three two-year old andre torres and 35 year-old devon thomas face a host of charges including aggravated sexual assault. incident happened in april. the the victim is a 34 year-old from new york state. we're now tracking latest developments on enterovirus in our region. >> there are five new confirmed cases in new jersey with the total number of garden state cases at 14. here in philadelphia there are five patients at chop awaiting test results to see if they have the virus. all have muscle weakness that may be link to the virus.

meanwhile philadelphia school district is ready to combat enterovirus, if necessary. district has brought these special wipes, that are capable of killing the virus. crews will use them on commonly touched surfaces like doorknobs and desk tops if there is an out break. turning to the ebola out break u.s. military says some u.s. troops deployed to liberia may come into contact with the virus some military personnel have been stationed at mobile testing labs and they could encounter infect people. pentagon has already sent three of those mobile labs to liberia so far and expects to send more in the coming months delaware grieving mother design for a mom's grave stone. she buried her son donnie three years ago at gleeb cemetery in new castle. he bought and designed a $7,000 head stone with pictures of his children and favorite team logo.

check have of business news. >> jill wag more joins us from the in new york stock exchange and jill, world's largest retailer we hear they are cutting health care for workers what are you telling us. >> reporter: wal-mart is cutting health care coverage from 30,000 part-time employees in the united states, who work 30 hours or less. wal-mart will be raising premiums for its other 1.3 millworkers. so that means they will have have to pay more for coverage this follows similar moves by target and home depot but wal-mart is the biggest private sector employer in the united states so is there concern other companies could follow suit. this comes as companies get ready for 2015 deadline under the affordable care act, erika and natasha. also americans want healthier options at restaurant these days and now it looks like big chains are listening to folks, right. >> that is right. new stud friday johns-hopkins looked at 66 large chains and it found menu items introduced

let's get traffic and weather together. good morning, torey. >> good morning, erika. good morning everyone. it seems to me that things are quiet and really, this is how they should ab approaching 5:00 a.m. we should not have too much problem anywhere. ben franklin bridge looking great no delays in either direction making your way in philadelphia or back into new jersey. both sides of all of our bridges are moving well, and i-95 same story 95 looks great commuting in the southbound direction out of the northeast philadelphia, through center city, south philadelphia, delaware county, wide open for you. northbound we have that same story. as we continue in the western suburbs, speed sensors are high up and green all over the place. fifty-five is your average on 422, same thing on the blue route, 202, pennsylvania turnpike, good news, it is what we have in pa. one piece of bad news in new jersey if you are traveling between moorestown and mount laurel road we have a close another at union mill red because of the water main break. your best alternate is hartford road ongoing since

last night and we had an earlier truck fire on the northbound side of new jersey turnpike right around 7a but that has cleared itself out and don't worry about that any longer and mass transit moving well. we have had that rain overnight so things are slick but it looks like we are in the clear for rest of the day. >> would i say that is fair, yeah. we are still seeing a couple clouds, granted but we need that frontal boundary to get further away before the skies can clear out. we have a handful of cloud and a full moon, sort of anotherly peeking through you some of that cloud cover but storm scan three is emptying itself out and that is good news. it means we will have more sunshine as day goes on. notice wind though, it is definitely still noticeable. it is a southeasterly breeze so not a chilly breeze necessarily but does make it feel cooler. we are also off to a mild start here mid 60's from the airport down toward ac and we expect to claim back in the 70's despite passage of the cold front. that said we will get more sunshine and end up with a
