well today is thursday, october 9th good morning i'm in a to a brown. i'm quarter von tiehl. here are stories we are following today. new this morning story you will see only on three, vandal spray paint a racial slur in front of the philadelphia catholic school. we are live from the scene. deadly fire in the home for people with disabilities in delaware county. "eyewitness news" reporter jane carabao joins us now, she's going to have the story you won't see anywhere else, good morning. >> reporter: disturbing case of vandalism graffiti on a girls catholic high school in

center city, a racial slur scrolled right on the front door a smack in the middle of two crosses. maintenance worker has since cleaned this up so that word isn't visible when kids arrive this morning. the this is john hall hand catholic high school at 19th and wood streets. racial slurs was spotted by a passerby just before 1:00 this morning. we have blurred that out but it was right in the middle of the front doors here. that passerby tells us he was walking home when he saw this, tweeted a photo of what was written here and then alerted "eyewitness news". we promptly called police and a number of detective have been on the scene here taking a look around. they have been searching building to see if there was more graffiti but they tell me this one slurries all they have found. investigators have been looking around ground for possibly any evidence left behind and perhaps, more importantly, they are looking for surveillance video. back out here live on the scene you can see a camera right in front of the high

school, up fortunately i'm told video isn't very good especially since the entrance seems to be obscured by the scaffolding. the there is another camera right across the street but investigators say it does not point in the direction of the school. now, investigators are going to be continuing with interviews later on this morning and we are also waiting for word from the school. as far as this graffiti goes. a response and reaction. we will keep you up to date but for now you we're live in center city, jane carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". lets get our traffic and weather together, together, katie. >> good morning, everybody, we are kicking it off with sky cam three which is very quiet at this hour. the yesterday we had had a breeze to say the least, kick nothing here with knocking and moving our camera around. at the moment it the is just a little breezy but not enough to call windy at all. it is a very pleasant start to the morning. moon lit skies even though we are not seeing a full moon it looks like it might as well be

with that sunshine and high of 70 degrees. vittoria, good morning. >> good morning, katie, good morning everyone. we are dealing with an accident at 4:35 as we look the at i-95 southbound right at enterprise avenue. what we're looking at is an accident scene which is blocking the right-hand lane, and it is involves possibly this tractor trailer here and definitely have a few vehicles which are not only compromising right-hand lane but that right center lane. travel southbound between broad street and enterprise avenue you will run into this not too far from the down side of the girard point bridge. elsewhere we are going to 202 right around 29, a few construction cones set up here, so watch the narrowing of the roadway but because we're in the dealing with any volume just yet or too much of the delay anywhere. fifty-five is your average, other places like traveling through construction zones at cottman avenue and girard, 50 on the schuylkill, 55 on 476 and in major problems on the pennsylvania turnpike. we are dealing with the accident at the hanover street at fourth street. this here in montgomery county

and watch out for construction on the pennsylvania turnpike in either direction between fort washington and bensalem, in delays for mass transit, erika. fire fighters confirmed one person has died in the fire in a delaware county home for people with disability. flames broke out last night at elwyn facility, in media. fire chief tells "eyewitness news" 38 other people made it out, two were hospitalized as a precaution and in the clear this morning how that fire got started. police in pine hill, new jersey are looking for this teenager, 19 year-old channel gilette was last seen saturday. family members say she does not have medication that she needs. she's gone missing several times between 2010 and 2014 turning up in camden, trenton, woodbury, elizabeth, new jersey and in philadelphia as well. if you know where she might be at this point please contact police right away. special owe electric tronic scanners to check for fevers have been installed at five dallas schools where students are machine toward

for ebola. >> several students have come in contact with thomas eric duncan, the firste bowl patient. duncan died in a dallas hospital. school district says scanners will allow nurse toes take temperatures of students with symptoms without coming into direct contact. the ebola out break which began in west africa has left more than 3800 people dead. a montgomery county mother is accused of buying heroin for her teenage daughter and injecting her. patricia davenport seen here and megan rodolph were charged with drug possession and child endangerment. lower southford police say that the pair traveled to philadelphia to purchase the drugs, with davenport's children age eight and 15 in the car. davenport inject her 15 year old daughter and her daughter's 16 year-old boyfriend with her win. pennsylvania state police have released details of the chilling note written by eric frein. police say note details frein's deadly ambush and his

4:42. a swarm of bees attack landscapers in arizona killing one and critically injuring another. >> video shows fire fighters in douglass spraying roughly 800,000 bees with foam and pesticides. four people suffered minor injuries. experts believe the bees were spooked when they heard a lawn mower. that was a hive located in the attic of that home. it was 8 feet long and 3 feet wide. exterminators suspect it has been there for ten years. meanwhile search continues for missing university of virginia student hanna graham. that search area widens, some of the teams spent yesterday on horse back trying to find the college solve more. graham disappeared more than three weeks ago. she was last seen with jesse matthew at a mall in charlottesville. pennsylvania matthew has been charged in her disappearance and is behind bars this morning. coming up at 4:43, we're

is a remnant of the earlier accident that we had here southbound i-95 at enterprise avenue. it was compromising the right-hand lane and right center lane. it has been pushed to the shoulder. you may find a slow down here because of the gaper delay but for the most part that accident scene has been cleared. looking at a beautiful shot of the ben franklin bridge no delays going to or from philadelphia or new jersey and really this is the same story for all of our bridges, they all look great. average speed sensors still in the 50's, 55 traveling on i-95, 50 on the schuylkill expressway and 55 traveling on 476. pennsylvania turnpike northeast extension, 422, 202, all clear, however we have an accident in montgomery county's hanover street at fourth street to watch out for. give yourself extra time there but it seems to be we are on the brink of a not so awful day, lets take a look at weather now with katie. >> it is right, vittoria, we can expect a pleasant day courtesy of high pressure building in very briefly for our area, before our next round of rain arrives.
