but first, breaking news tonight a doctor in new york city test the positive for ebo ebola. >> good evening, i'm jessica dean. >> i'm charisma. that dr. recently returned from west africa where he did treat ebola patients. he developed a fever this morning and moments ago officials at new york's bellevue hospital spoke about his case. >> dr. craig spencer is the fourth person to be diagnosed with ebola in the us. he tested positive for the virus at new york's bellevue hospital where he's now in isolation. >> there's no reason for new yorkers to be alarmed. ebola is an extremely hard disease to contract. >> video from the new york post shows an ambulance with a police escort rushing spencer to building view. where emt's wear hazmat suits were then decontaminated. spence sr. was likely exposed to the virus earlier this month as he cared for ebola patients with the group doctors without borders in guinea, west africa. spencer had been self monitoring

for symptoms since his return to the u.s. on october 17th. he reported feeling fatigue earlier this week, but did not develop a fever until thursday. >> we know that yesterday that he went to a bowling alley in williamsburg. he was feeling well at that time. cdc go team will work with spencer's doctors to make sure all protocols are followed. now in addition to that trip to the bowling alley dr. spencer also visited a restaurant and used both the subway and taxi cabs in new york this past week. officials say they know of at least four people with whom he had contact. now the first person diagnosed with ebola in the us was this man thomas eric duncan he of course died from the virus. two nurses contracted it while treating him nina pham who is in good condition. amber vincent is now free of the virus. one other item should any ebola cases arise here in philadelphia, you should know that adults would be treated at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania.

any children would be treated at the children's hospital of philadelphia. >> well just today camden county held a special ebola training session. doctors from cooper demonstrated how to put on and then safely take off personal protective equipment. now this is what first responders would wear in the event they were dealing with an suspected ebola case. the cdc has issued new guidelines to help hospitals treat possible ebola patients. we have much more for you at cbsphilly.com. you can learn more about ebola in the us and how the region is working to keep you safe in the event of any cases here. turning now to the stunning news tonight about one of this area's most storied football programs. the superintendent of central bucks schools says some players at cb west were subjected to humiliating hazing. we have live team coverage with "eyewitness news" reporter matt rivers and sports director beasley reece. we'll start with matt at cw best in doylestown. what have you learned tonight?

>> reporter: jessica, i spoke with a father whose son plays for the freshman team who are at cb west and he told me his son was actually nervous to put up to the jv squad next year because of alleged hazing incidents like this one. with that said there are plenty of students here on campus who think this incident has been blown out of proportion. allegations first made on october 14th described in e-mail stent to school parents by district superintendent david whites sell. he alleged that rookie players on the jv and varsity teams were hazed. forced to take part in initiation that is were quote humiliating and inappropriate. went on to write "the most personally invasive activity required a rook company to grab another player's private parts while fully clothed as a result the rest of their seasons were suspended. >> disappointment that our school is being repped that way. >> police look not case. they added that several younger players had towels draped on their heads while wearing clothes and forced to stand in a shower.

the coaches for varsity and jv squads have been suspended including the head coach until the district completes their investigation. >> it all comes down the name of cb west. what everyone will think about it now. >> reporter: news ripped through the central bucks west community. central bucks west was set to play central bucks east rivalry that falls on homecoming weekend each year. >> everyone is looking forward it to. the biggest thing of the year, pep rallies and everything. >> junior reid was told about the hazing and thinks the district is ovary acting. >> it isn't as repulsive as it actually sounded. >> you know kids on the team. >> i know kids on the team, and everyone was furious. >> other students we spoke to said the hazing that went on was well known in the school. >> that's been a tradition for awhile. whether or not it was a good tradition, obviously not. bad choices. but i don't think they're bad people. >> reporter: the police investigation into this case has been going on for about didn't days now but no charges have

been filed. we're live in doylestown, bucks county tonight, matt rivers cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> i'm cbs-3 sports director beasley reece. cb west is one of the most accomplished football programs in the area. i spoke to the man who built that dine nasty by phone just a short time ago. coach mike pet tin helped west to national prominence winning 326 games against just 42 losses and four ties. he produced four state titles. several college and nfl stars. and his son mike pet tin, jr., who played at cb west is now the head coach of the cleveland browns. i asked mike pet tin, sr. for his reaction to the suspension of the season and how his veterans treated new recruits. >> shocking, and it's also shocking for lot of my former players i've been getting e-mails and, you know, it's black eye on cb west football one of my players indicated. when i was young coach i inherit

app knishes shakes system that was quite end trenched, and that went well for most years, but of now and then you'd have a group of players that would want to push the envelope and it got to the point where there were a few incidents, and i figured, well, they're spoiling it for everybody and no more initiation. and that we kind of gravitated into just having a talent show and that went well for couple of years, but, again, only takes few bad apples of some veterans who push some of the rookies in the talent show to come up with some behavior that was unacceptable. so it got to the point it seemed as coach there could be no middle ground. we just had to cut it out completely. >> the coach expressed his support for the current coaching staff and says he believes older players pushed the envelope too far. so once begun the last two games

all of this of course follows the cancellation of the football season at sayreville war memorial high school in middlesex county. seven football players there were charged with crimes. ranging from hazing to aggravated sexual assault. the team's head coach and four assistant coaches were suspended inn definitely with pay. >> in the wake of the sayreville scandal, new jersey has sent a memo to school districts telling them to take a second look at their sports teams in other extracurricular activities for any signs of hazing or bullying. the state is reminding districts to ensure students are supervised at all times, and to create possible school cultures. our coverage of the hazing scandal at central bucks west high school continues online. you can always get the latest information any time at cbsphilly.com. >> now tonight a hail of gunfire in bustleton leaves a man in critical condition. philadelphia police say a gunman fired 28 shots in the 8900 block of al ton street around 7:30

hitting that victim several times. the 57 year old was able to identify the shooter. police arrested a 26 year old suspect and recovered an assault rifle. eyewitnesses say those two men were arguing before that shooting. >> emotional moments in canada's parliament less than 24 hours after a gunman opened fire there. cheers erupted for the sergeant at arms this morning who killed the gunman who opened fire in the building. video from yesterday shows fifty three kin vickers with a gun in his hasn't after taking down that suspect. michael, had a long rap sheet and had hoped to travel to syria but his passport had been confiscated. >> investigation is on going, and will rapidly determine if he received any support in the planning of his attack. >> canada's prime minister and his wife visited the war memorial today. that's where corporal nathan saurel low was killed.

the latest white house fence jumper made his first court appearance today. the man was unarmed when he made it over that fence last night. the secret service used dogs to apprehend him. he's now charged with two misdemeanors unlawfully enters white house and harming animals used in law enforcement. records show he was also charged with unlawful entry at the white house complex in late july. >> philadelphia traffic court judge is facing corruption charges to now. the case being brought against tomasine tines by the district attorney seth williams. >> $2,000 tiffany charm bracelet. the bracelet that judge tines received for promising special access to a businessman. >> prosecutors allege that tines promised to help that businessman when a lucrative government contract but it turns out the businessman was actually an undercover informant. >> businessman spelled out what he wanted, and the judge

>> dramatic and deadly situation caught on camera near phoenix. a man driving a stolen truck slams full speed into a police car trying to block the road. but the drama didn't end there. the driver of that truck then got out with a machete in hand. he was shot and killed by police. the police officer who was hit is hospitalized in serious condition. >> a plane and helicopter collide near frederick, maryland. killing three people and injuring two others. that plane went down in a line of trees while the helicopter wound up crashing near storage units. the three who died were near the helicopter wreckage. two men on board the plane were taken by ambulance to a hospital. the plane was a single engine sirius equipped with large parachute which did deploy.

well the remains of the famed athlete jim thorpe will remain in the pennsylvania town that now bears his name. thorpe was laid to rest in jim thorpe, carbon county sick decades ago. federal appeals court has thrown out a ruling that could have resulted in the moving of his remains to native american land in oklahoma. thorpe of course was a football, baseball and track star who won the decathlon and penn kathleen in the 1912 olympics. >> in the film back to the future two, marty mc fly hops on hover board. now a company in california has created a real life hover board. it's technology that may prove beneficial down the road. the hover board resembles a proper pop from back to the future two. skateboard with no wheels. it hovers in the air. >> it's pretty cool. >> we can't do everything marty could do but we're a whole lot closer than we were.

>> hover board is the creation of joe and greg henderson. there's no airlifting the board. the company uses a patented magnetic technology so you're riding on a magnetic field. it needs a conductive surface like aluminum or copper. >> we'll have hover boards and parks and hover lives and hover roller coasters. >> the company is selling white boxes to developers that contain the hover engine. >> it can do something that you probably never seen before, bounce in air. the ability to load weight on the hover engine means the technology can one day weren't used to keep buildings a lost during earthquakes or floods. >> why not a building have why not a house? why not an operating room? why not a sense tough piece of equipment or precious piece of art. >> the company updated the hover board more than 20 times but there's still more tweaking to be done. they're working on lowering the noise level. and incorporating a row moat control. a little hard when you first climb on.

well. we're seeing winds between 10 and 15 miles an hour out of the northwest. that northwesterly wind meaning that our storm system is moving well to the north and east away from the region and will lose its grip on our region. right now temperatures in the 50s in the poconos in the 40s you can really did see where we have the clear skies. because that is where temperatures have fallen fast. in pittsburgh 45. in cleveland 39 degrees. we are looking at temperatures that have been up and down throughout the work week. tuesday 70 the past two days little bit of a weather rut. but with the sun on the increase tomorrow, we will be o our way up and that is just the beginning of a big warmup that's coming in our seven day foreca forecast. our storm system moves away still breezy for friday with temperature in the 60s. saturday we warm it up in the upper 60s. our front moves through saturday night. just knocking temperatures down a few degrees but you won't notice that too much on your sunday. and then warming big time as we make our way through the beginning of next week which is the last week of october alrea already. overnight gradually clearing conditions.
