such a beautiful stretch of weather. but today is the warmest day of the pack. still with sunshine. tell you how long it is lasts and here is a hint it is not very long. jess? >> thank you, i know, beautiful day to look forward, to beautiful commute outside so far on the vine st. expressway. so westbound toward the schuylkill eastbound toward 95 looking great at eighth street. we check in with mass transit in the next couple of minutes. good morning. >> jess, thanks so much. good morning, everyone, in the news hazing scandal at central bucks west high school sure to be main topic of discussion at school board meeting scheduled for later tonight. >> "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us now at the high school in doylestown, where the hazing allegations cents have cost the football team really their entire season. good morning. >> reporter: erika, ukee, good morning. we are expected to learn more about these hazing allegations during this evening's board meeting, the school district has said it wouldn't speak again about the topic until tonight. looking forward to. that will this comes as police continue to investigate. they're now working with the district attorney's office.

>> amid allegations cents of hazing, the jv and varsity football seasons at cb west are done. the coaching staff, suspended. not only a disappointment for this school, but for the entire community, even parents at rival cb eels. >> the parents were disappointed, everyone disappointed. so it is a shame what happened. >> now, a mission to find out exactly what happened, in a scandal that's grabbed national headline. >> we just want to make sure we're thorough and do it properly. >> it will get time to get our information together. >> central bucks regional police working with the district attorney's offers and gathering the facts. investigators tell us they've yet to interview players on the cb west football team. but today the d.a.'s office is expected to ask players who feel victimize today come forward. the superintendent of schools says the alleged hazing happened in pre-season. the most personally invasive activities, he says, required a rookie to grab another players private parts, while fully clothed. >> that's our goal, to determine if there is, in fact, a problem. if there is, and it is of a criminal nature, then we will

deal with it criminally. >> meantime the president of the school board is supporting the superintendent's response to the allegations cents writing in part: all involved at the district appreciate the gravity of the situation, and firmly believe that the action taken regarding the team and the coaching staff were more than justified based on the violations of the code of conduct and discipline. >> now, this meeting starts here at the high school this evening, at 7:30, and happening today, again, the district attorney is expected to ask students who may have felt victimized by this alleged hazing to come forward and speak with police. reporting live in doylestown, jan carabeo, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. new this morning, fire damages a northeast philadelphia duplex overnight. it happened along the 100 block of nandin "a" street in bustleton just after 1:00. that fire was placed under control, within minutes. no one was injured. investigators are working to figure out what started that fire. coming up on 5:03, we want traffic and weather together. talking 70s today, katy?

>> we slutly are. this will be a temperature spike that easily takes place. mid 70s, you know, certainly going to be very, very possible for us here, once we wake up to the sunshine, and just gets its act together, starts to warm things up for us here. soap, already off to little bit of milder start by comparison to yesterday, this same time, but we start things off with a quick look at storm scan3, dels by the ground clutter still virtually empty. zoom it out once, you can see, there are some clouds out there, but more than anything, you have got to generally clear sky. we are going to see that sunlight peaking through, very easily here to warm things up at the surface. forty-four the current temperature in allentown, 51 at philadelphia international. into the mid and even upper 50's, down at some of the area shore points, so a very significant difference, in a place like the pinelands, down the shore, where yesterday you were easily only into the lower 40's. so, you know, amazing just what one day can do, what one warmfront can do, what this will do for us is really start to warm things back up for us. so into the mid 70s, 757 in philly by 3:00 p.m., that's

our expected high right now, we will see how we do even further south of the city where it might get even little warmer, but it is almost like disco made a come back for a day here with the 70s returning. major cool down does come our way by the weekend. that's why i keep saying, if you really love the mile weather, you will love the sunshine, who doesn't, right? get out and enjoy it, things will starting to downhill both on the thermometer and as well as our weather pattern. what's it mean for halloween? is it attributing or is it a treat? we'll have that answer for you coming up just a little later in the show. jet, we send over to you. >> love that you just said that. thanks, katie, i think it lab nice treat. good morning, everybody, little after 5:00 a.m., checking out overnight work creeping up on 95 just past the commodore barry bridge. this is your northbound lanes. you can see everybody kind of squeezing on by to the right-hand side, they take out part of the left lane there. so this is northbound just after the commodore barry bridge, southbound lanes, moving along great, there as well.

over on 422, at trooper, actually, no, the vine st. expressway, so headed toward the schuylkill expressway, looking great, and toward 95 looking great there, as well. currently no problems. over on the travel times, 59 southbound from woodhaven into the vine st. expressway, 13 minute trip there. 202 headed northbound from route 30 into the schuylkill expressway only about 12 minute trip there. now, road collapse out montgomery county, de haven street completely closed at overlook lane. alternate just take gulph road to get around. that will overnight work both directions frost quakertown to lansdale, expect it to be out there until 6:00 a.m. masses transit great alternate. septa new jersey transit and darryl all running on time with north rod -- no reported delays. ukee, back to you. >> clean bill of health for nurse who has been quarantined in new jersey over fears she may be infected with ebola. >> she was cents released yesterday, but new changes in the way we fight the virus here in the u.s. cbs news correspondent wendy gillette explains.

>> federal officials now calling for voluntary home quarantine only for people at the highest risk of contracting ebola. the new cdc guidelines to find high risk as someone with known exposure, like family member who cared for ebola patient or someone who is stuck with a needle from an infected patient. if that person has no symptoms, the cdc recommends daily monitoring by a health official for 21 days, and restrictions for pro-it g travel from ship, long dis pans bus, train, avoiding public gatherings. the white house says mandatory quarantine imposed by some states are more about politics, than good medical sense. >> these kind of policies should be driven by science. >> nurse tracey back home in maine where she will remain in isolation, held in mandatory quarantine in newark after treating ebola patients in sierra leone. >> hopefully her he health will remain good --

>> the quarantine debate escalated last week, after doctor craig spencer was cents brought here to bellevue hospital, where he tested positive for the virus. doctor spencer's condition remains serious. as the cdc, white house, and handful of states continue to debate and disagree on ebola quarantine policies. wendy gillette, cbs-3, "eyewitness news". >> a lot of upset parents in philadelphia after local charter school suddenly shuts its doors. >> the walter d palmer high school in frankford notified parents sunday not to send their children to class any more, the school lost recent court battle to have the school district raise its cap of 675 students, and without any extra financial help they needed to drastically trim their enrollment numbers. >> i accept it. i accept responsibility. they have my deepest apology of not being able to --

>> the closure affect nearly 300 students. the school will remain throughout the week to help them with this transition. septa riders should brace for possible strike, union leaders, septa officials, continue their negotiations cents today. everyone including drivers could be impacted if septa workers in philadelphia walk off the job. more cars on the road leads to more traffic backups and longer commutes. transit union leaders say a decision to strike could come by the ends of this week. but riders would get at least 24 hours notice before it takes effect. if it was to go on strike, that would be terrible, because there would be no way for me to get to work. >> i can't promise anything beyond this week. at the end of the week, after negotiating with septa for the rest of the week, i'll evaluate where we are. >> septa says they believe their offers have been more than generous, but will continue negotiating with union leaders. the potential strike would affect buses cents, subways, trolleys in philadelphia, regional rail lines would not be impacted.

>> police now say the washington state student responsible for last friday's horrific school shooting sent text message to other student inviting them to sit with him at lunch. and that's where he opened fire. fourteen year old gia soriano, who was injured in the shooting at maries ville pull chick high school, died yesterday. the shooter, jaylen fryberg, took his own life. one girl said she received a text, but did not go to lunch. >> i honestly think he didn't want to go, myself, he wanted all his friends to go down with him. >> they students remain hospitalized. police have no motive right now. well, relatives of northern colorado man who went missing during the denver broncos game desperately searching for signs of life. >> paul kit err -- kidderman disappeared during the game, he and his stepson, gone to meet friends. he left to use the rest room. when he returned, kidderman was cents no where to be found. >> he was like okay, well, it will be all right, we'll just

stick together, because you got your phone. so there is no way he would have taken off like that. >> relatives have filed a missing person's report. kidderman had no cell phone, credit cards, and had very small amount of carbon him. jared reached out to local hospitals, and detox centers, as well. denver police say foul play is not suspected. right now, 5:13, we want traffic and weather together. good morning, kate. >> i hey, erika, good morning, everybody, this will be beautiful day for our region, we are watching a warmfront lift out of here. left behind couple of clouds granted but generally speaking still beautiful weather unfolds for us here. so yes, you might have couple of more clouds out there, but that's really it. you can see any of the precipitation associated with this warmfront is well off to the north at this point. that's definately not a concern for us. here's the cold front that's eventually going to start the trends going, with cooler air behind it, it starts to knock our temperatures back, and with time, the warmth that we'll experience here today will get wiped out completely.

you'll see it, it is almost like a tail of two different seasons here over the course of the next couple every days. currently we're at 51 gross at philadelphia international, still mid and lower 60s down through at lan tax charleston, birmingham, this is the sours of the warm we'll find today. look at how, i mean, the cut off so obvious here. you go from the mid 60s, in st. louis, to just the 40's, and 30's, back through nebraska, kansas, and the list goes on, where it is so much chillier behind that first front, and there is another one that's going to come along and reinforce the chill for thus weekends. quick check on the pollen report, no worries, ragweed still the issue, 1.1 the level here today, the highest we'll finds, then the levels just stay really really low. i mean, at this point of the year, pollen just doesn't become too much of an issue for us. seventy-five, 75 degrees, though, later today, what a great excuse to get outside. your a talking 12 solid degrees above seasonable average for the daytime high. still flirting with 07 tomorrow. that's when the cold front crosses so it bridges in more clouds, shower here and there, call it a spotty shower, so you can get away without an

umbrella if you really want, to then thursday, brightens right back up, the sun, but it is cents cooler, and that trend keeps going. to the point that on saturday, jess, we can't hit even 50 degrees. >> that's jim ' looking forward to later today, thanks, katie. good morning, everybody, 5:15, we go outside right now, smooth sailing on 95, we just had a little bit of overnight work here that towelly just cleared out of the way, just few moments ago, and this is just after the commodore barry bridge, so headed southbound or northbound, excuse me, toward the airport, moving just fine. southbound lanes, looking great there, as well. now, out in new jersey, over on the northbound lanes at 42 at creek road, everything moving great there. so head today 295 or possibly philadelphia, and the surround area bridges, you will have no problems doing so. some overnight work on the northeast extension, both directions, expect that to be out there from quakertown to lansdale until about six armor so. and some moreover night work out in jersey, route 130 at route 70, until 6:00 a.m. out there, as well. septa, new jersey transit, dart, all running on time, no delays, currently, no delays

at the philadelphia international airport. erika, back over to you. >> thank you. here is a look at today's headlines on cbs-3. tonight the central bucks school district will address the hazing allegations that led to the cancellation of the schools remaining football games and the suspension of coaches. the bucks county district attorney's office is investigating. no charges have been filed. >> nurse casey hickox has left for her home state of maine main after three days in mandatory quarantine, hickox sued for her release, meanwhile cdc has issued new guidelines for healthcare workers returning from ebola stricken countries. and there are no injuries reported in this fire in bustleton. the fire broke out in a duplex along the 100 block of nandina street around 1:00 this morning, in word on a cause. >> looking at 5:16 in the morning, coming up on "eyewitness news", new research on how to treat a child's cough. >> how you can help keep your kids healthier this winter. when "eyewitness news" returns.

>> ooh levy breaks, and it happened late sunday night, 09 miles wells of nashville. emergency crews used a boat to rescue two railroad employees who suffered minor injuries, the train was not caring any cargo when it derailed. a colorado judge sets a new trial date for movie theater shooting suspect, james homes. his attorney asked for for more time to review sanity evaluation. jury selection will now begin on january 20th, instead of december 8th. homes is accused of opening fire inside a pack movie theatre in our ray roar a, colorado in july of 2012, killing 12 people, injuring 70. prosecutors are seek the death penalty. pennsylvania state police have a new tool to help them finds suspected trooper killer eric frein. >> ohio officials have donated a large balloon equipped with a camera for the search effort. the balloon is similar to the ones used to track weather systems. it is un tethered, unmanned,

couple of clouds granted, do have warmfront that continues to lift north. but hasn't really done much more than feature couple of clouds, and nice southerly components of the wind flow to send the temperatures on real nice uphill climb, especially millville, atlantic city, those are the ones that stand out to you the most here, i think, because you're almost, you know, 20 degrees warmer at this hour, in millville, for example, than were you this same time yesterday. so, it will be noticeable. we have to check on the mount pocono observation. generally in the 40's right now, 51 currently at philadelphia international, atlantic city in at 56 degrees, so it is milder the further south you go, and that's generally going to be the theme as we go throughout the course of the day today. but in philly, i expect the high to easily hit the mid 70s, with the sunshine, wednesday, features more clouds than anything, you'll see little sun, and we'll also have quick shower or two to track along the way, then behind the cold front, that bridges in that spotty shower, temperatures do start to take a hit. so, thursday's day one, basically, of cooler than average weather, which will continue for us, headed into not just halloween, but also,

the upcoming weekend. jess, over to you. >> thank you, katie. good to take advantage of it while you can. good morning, everyone, we go outside right now, check out our cameras, right on top of 95 at broad street. where you can see everything moving along nicely, in both lanes, over in the left hand side, that's actually the southbound lanes, so headed toward center city you should have pretty much straight shot. no problems so far. on over on 309, you can see everything, moving along great, there as well, that's the pa turnpike right on top headed northbound, looking great, headed southbound looking great there, as well. over night work all over the place really. so new jersey turnpike southbound at exit six, to exit five, no word when that will be cleaning up, but at some point this morning, so be aware of it for right now. out in delaware county route 252 near route one, out there until about 6:00 a.m. everything else out in delaware still actually looking real good so far. fifty-nine north and southbound, 495 north and southbound, no problems currently on the delaware memorial bridge. septa new jersey transit and dart all running on time. currently no delays at the airport. ukee, back over to you.
