case, our walt hunter is live at police headquarters with the very latest, walt? >> reporter: well, chris, investigators here in the homicide unit have charged dion jordan with one murder and numerous other crimes, the question, could he possibly be responsible for five additional murders, sources tell cbs-3 that detectives are looking into that possibility, and today the search for evidence took those detectives, crime lab personnel and marine units to the schuylkill river in east falls police drivers searched waters of the schuylkill looking for a weapon that is part of the growing investigation into dion jordan, an accused killer, kidnapper and bank robber, who sources say could be responsible for as many as five additional murders. >> this individual has been on a crime spree of his own involving from bank robbery, murder, kidnapping, you name it, it seems like something he has been involved in. >> reporter: police say dallas

licensing was gunned down october 17th, his body dumped at eighty-second and lions avenue in southwest philadelphia. >> it was a thinking, really. your stomach drops to the floor. >> reporter: his mother, long griffin, whose husband was murdered in 1992 is now making funeral plans, to the youngest of her three sons. >> you can say okay, they caught the person, but it doesn't bring him back. >> reporter: these pictures police say show jordan wearing a specially design $2,000 mask and wig to alter his appearance, holding up one of five banks he has allegedly robbed since june, here in chestnut hill and in bucks county. as police press their search for possible clues in the schuylkill, sources say that they are new looking into whether jordan may have killed as many as five others, whether their investigation turns up enough evidence to file additional murder charges beyond long's killing is for now an unanswered questions.

would have stopped it immediately. there is that school game meeting tonight, at 7:30, and they are expect to talk more about these allegations. we are reporting in doylestown tonight, i'm steve paterson at cbs-3 "eyewitness news". now to a chilling fine, skeletal remains have been unearthed in a south jersey backyard forensic archaeologists are looking into these remains that are believed to be human. they were found in riverton, burlington county. a contractor discovered those bones digging to install a new whimming pool. the pool was built in a yard off a historic home off bank avenue. >> it is weird how it got exposed. >> i think remains wanted to be found because it was basically a half of an inch buried into the wall that wasn't going to be excavated and a rock kind of fell out and dirt fell out and that exposed the skull. >> well, authorities do not suspect foul play here they say these bones are very old,

just like the home, near which they were buried. a truck ripped down power lines in brookhaven delaware county this afternoon. the accident happened on route 352 and edgemont avenue. from chopper you three can see a pole leaning against a building there. police say there were no injuries, that accident did not cause significant power outages in the area. >> authorities busted a significant expected dog fighting ring in south philadelphia. more than a dozen pit bulls some pup is, were reportedly found inside the home on the 2200 block of mifflin street. officials say some of the dogs have been chained to radiators, they also recovered, crudely fashioned treadmills, and evidence investigators say the type of training that dogs train to fight, experience. these dogs are now in the care of the spca, there is no word on any criminal charges. tonight, president obama is offering support for ebola aid workers, he says that new rules for monitoring for the virus once they return to the u.s. should be sensible and

blast into space, justin. >> reporter: good evening, jessica, that is right. we are tracking really warm temperatures with the cbs-3 mobil weather lab. great night get outside. we are at bell machines plateau and we are not only ones with this idea. we have people hanging out here for the shore and getting close to the main event people out here with some cameras, hoping to see the rocket tonight. it is scheduled to be launched at 6:22. we have high level clouds. it looks like we have enough breaks in the clouds that we should see this rocket, fit is launched on time, and, at least as far as weather conditions go. yesterday, this rocket was supposed to be launched but it is a boat that wandered into the trajectory zone and they had to scrub that launch yesterday. we will do it again here tonight. as of right now all things are a a go. this will be event up to the international space station to bring some supplies for them. now, when will we see rocket

well, two time stanley cup champion mike richards and jeff carter are back in town. former flyers lifted cup twice in los angeles. they are bringing a six game winning streak in tonight's match up at the center. for flyers ray emery will get the start in net his third straight start. philadelphia has won two games in a row. as for richards and carter they enjoy coming back to philadelphia. >> it goodies to come back and see a lot of the people i've got to know over the years.
