and later in that quarter nick was hit by jj watt picked up by ajboya and he weaved his way all the way down some set poor effort by the offense to make the tackle. >> first quarter nick under pressure gets sacked and he lands right on his left shoulder. not good. towed leave the game with an injured clavicle. in comes mark sanchez and on his first drive, what a throw. finds jordan matthews for the 7-yard score and the birds regain the lead right there. >> but the texans responded. ryan fitzpatrick connects with arian foster down the side line. he's gone for 56 yards to the house. game tied up again. go to the third quarter, birds up by three. chris polk goes up the middle with power. eagles takes a 10-point lead. >> fourth quarter texans deep eagles territory fitzpatrick picked off by dee me company ryans he fumbles and he's hurt on the play. some of these players even crying because the leader of the

defense had to be card off the field with possibly a torn achilleas. >> two plays later houston capitalized fitzpatrick found hopkins for the score and eagles lead was cut to three. kelly's heroes then answer. that's down field sanchez to maclin again. and the eagles beat the texans 31-21 but everyone was talking about the loss of foles and ryans. >> awesome job up front and all three backs got in there and, um, got their touches made the most of them. um, you know, i just thought we ran the ball well. we through it well at times. a couple throws i got to clean up, and, um, we'll get some rhythm going next week and see what happens. >> i thought we wore them down little bit. i think with our tempo you know one drive we had four runs for 70 an touch. i think you could see the effects of us, you know, cumulative effects of us all three running backs ran really hard today. >> don't matter how it ends, we won this game, and that's it.

your focus on the game. i think that's coach's policy next man up, something happens you got to be ready to go and i think we were. >> demeco ryans injured his achilleas on this interception. maybe down for the season. it was his first game against his old squad. he played six seasons in houston stop. franchise record for tackles at 636. devastating below to the eagles defense. >> it's hard to see anybody go down one of your teammates and obviously hard to see your leader on defense go down. he gets us in all the calls. you know, he's going to be fine. he'll come back. obviously the guys behind him need to step up and i think they're more than capable of doing. >> you can tell he made an impression on everyone around him. so, you know, it's just the legacy he left behind here at houston. i mean to have guys come from the other side line and show respect like that just, you know, admirable.

week, who is quarterback much he's five and two. meaning i'm not going to switch when we're winning. i think if they're 10 and four, when he comes back, they're not going to switch. >> it can save them a lot of money. >> does he get a crack? in the short run, his contract is up after 2015. you don't liking to into next year with a guy playing out his year to become a free agent. this was the off season if he played well he was going to get that, you know, five-year, 80 million whatever quarterbacks get. now, i think he's going to have to play next year for his money. and they just finish out his contract. >> and is this really testing chip kelly's system right here? no, because chip kelly's system is so good that you can plug in a mark sanchez, i think -- i mean they may lose a little. sanchez is more mobile much that will be good. sanchez can work fast. which i think is going to be good. he can be crazy he can be more reckless than foles but more

talk about playing for his money. >> exactly. i mean, i feel like in the next two weeks we'll hear about deal. i think that's a real possibility of that. i don't remember when the deadline is. for making a deal that applies against this year's salary cap but it's soon. took a gamble on himself before this year they offered him a long-term deal kind of blow rate but he was coming off an injury. what you will expect. to his credit he said i'll gamble on myself, turn it down and take the one year deal. he's earned himself top flight receiver money. they have no choice. >> no question about it. it's not like they have depth at the position. he took the risk on himself and it's paid off. >> i've seen this go both ways. sure. >> i've seen injuries crop up. but listen, congratulations jeremy maclin he's really -- i forget what game it was i said i think he game an nfl player. clutch play after clutch play and he has been awesome this year. >> and deep. i always liked him as a possession guy.

real excited. and you're going to play in the game tomorrow. you guys play tomorrow? >> i got in. i went to atlanta. because i was about -- i was in the car when he called me, i flew out of atlanta got in about 1:00 a.m. and got my physical the neck day and everything and i played that night. >> he made the eagles decision to keep him easy out kicking veteran kicker alex henry kick the game winning field goal against his former team during the regular season. it has to be stressful. not to him. >> yeah, i am a rookie but i've been stressful situations in college. i played in two national championship games. 2sec championship games. the iron ball auburn versus alabama every year is about stressful as it gets. >> he charged all of his kicks in college. >> besides saying good or bad hey you did this on this one. kick it really good. you should do that again. >> one thing he hasn't done played in cold weather or snow. i've never kicked in the snow.
