in aberdeen maryland. police would not say it is this location, but investigators were on site, as police say they have surveillance video showing a man in dark colored clothing at about 6:00 this morning. >> it shows a male using an atm dared, her atm card. >> reporter: aberdeen is a little over an hour away there california, maryland. today carlesha's grandmother, anna, told cbs-3 that the 23 year-old lived with her in california from the time she was a little girl until three years ago when she moved to philadelphia detective shows mallero pictures from the bank surveillance hoping she would spot on one who knows gaither. >> i cannot identify the person that was in the picture but it ace black male of light complexion. >> reporter: gaither was abduct from the 100 block of colter street sunday night. caught on camera she struggled and fights to get away from her attacker before she's taken. >> whoever has her, send her back home. >> reporter: tuesday, a show of solidarity, from a family fight to go get her back.

and pronounced dead at the scene. right the now no word on a suspect or a motive. well, now to an "eyewitness news" exclusive, a student who is being credited for alerting officials to threats at radnor high school is speaking out. this is as the 17 year-old girl whom police say wrote about killing classmates a teacher and even harming herself under goes a mental evaluation. here's "eyewitness news" reporter walt hunter. >> i have a moral obligation to all of the student here to say, this is something that could happen, take a look at it. >> reporter: seniors zachary taylor knew he had had to act quickly, when after reading class notes shared by a fellow student, he found page after page of alleged threats, to kill fellow students, and the teacher. >> it was really, really alarming and i said, i said, dude, i have to start taking pictures of this. >> reporter: taylor told me he snapped pictures with his phone, immediately, taking them to school administrators who notified police. >> one of my friends said you

are needed n radnor, walt hunter, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". we now know the identities of the two people killed in the murder suicide in a chester county ymca. authorities say dennis castle shot and killed his estrange girlfriend before taking his own life. this happened last night at brandywine ymca on holy road in west brandywine. both were pronounced dead at the brandywine hospital, miller leaves behind two children. two people were taken to the hospital after this accident in kensington. chopper three over frankford avenue and clear field street where a car crashed into a small grocery store. we don't know what caused this crash but we do know one victim was taken to temple hospital and the other was taken to episcopal. a ten year-old boy is in serious condition at children's hospital, he was hit by a car in king of prussia. this was the scene on route 202 and sullen boulevard just afternoon time. police say the boy was with the group of of other children attempting to cross the the

street. witnesses say the driver had a green light, he and a passenger were not hurt. the roof of this truck was damage, when it was hit, it hit a bucks county overpass, thinks on haunted lane just off of the bristol pike in bensalem. police cleared the street and the truck was moved to the side of the road. no injuries were reportedded here but you could see that truck roof peeled back as it hit the overpass. it is election day 2014, and voters are heading to the polls all across the region. "eyewitness news" in langhorne bucks county where voters cast their ballots, for pennsylvania governor. we are live now in election central and this is the the most hotly contested race in the region right now. incumbent tom corbett hoping for a second term but he is facing a stiff challenge from his democratic counterpart tom wolf. lets turn to our natasha brown live at corbett headquarters in pittsburgh with more now, natasha. >> reporter: good evening,

chris. we can material you earlier this morning voter turnout was said to be brisk in the pittsburgh area and western pennsylvania region. we know that governor corbett has been out all day to take rallying his base to get out the the vote up until the very last moment. >> get out and vote. >> reporter: energized, confident republican incumbent tom corbett as he cast his ballot just outside of pittsburgh. >> every race i have run, be in predict i was going to win. we have won every time, including the the first time i ran for town hip commissioner right here in the seventh ward i was than the supposed to win and we did. >> reporter: governor in the final hours, still rallying his base to get out the vote. polls shown corbett trailing his opponent tom wolf but gap has narrowed with corbett continuing to portray wolf as the candidate that will raise taxes. voter turnout has been brisk throughout the state with corbett expecting strong support in pittsburgh. he hopes to gain ground in philadelphia and its suburbs. voters we spoke with in pitberg say there is an excitement about this midterm election that end ising folks

congressional seats we know are up throughout the region and that includes pennsylvania's eighth district, the district covers bucks county and a portion of montgomery county as well. here republican incumbent mike fitzpatrick is hoping for another term, he cast his vote in middletown today. "eyewitness news" was there the at everette middle school, fitzpatrick saying his number one priority in congress is job creation. fitzpatrick faces a stiff challenge from democrat kevin strauss this year a political new come shore voted at mapel point middle school in langhorne today, he of course is an army ranger and afghanistan and iraqi war veteran. strauss will fight in washington for legislation to grow the economy and create jobs in both the short and long term. here's what you need to know, polls are opened right now n pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware, they close in all three states at 8:00 o'clock tonight. just as soon as polls close we will begin our hourly updates for you here on cbs-3, cbs

gary anderson of somerdale died after a falling tape measure, hit him on the head. and anderson had just delivered sheetrock to the construction site in jersey city when that tape measure fell from the worker's belt 50 stories high. police say he was in the wearing a hard hat. >> he would have been hurt maybe in the hospital but it would have, it would have probably saved a life. >> it is very scary, i had no idea that something so small could do so much damage. >> a public safety official says that this incident appears to be a very tragic accident. well, in egg harbor township tonight police are investigating a credit card theft, they are trying to identify this woman after cards were taken at island gym, and then used at a nearby low es store on october 27th. anyone with any information is asked to contact the police in egg harbor township. the lure of a giant jackpot has been lining up for mega millions tickets. tonight's jackpot will be at least 321 million-dollar, that is the eighth largest in the

back on "eyewitness news" our election coverage continues with pennsylvania's 13th congressional district. democrat brandon boyle hoping to replace allison swart who left hot to us run for governor. boyle cast his vote at lutheran church in northeast philadelphia boyle's opponent republican businessman deadd cock cast his ballot in jenkintown. you could not miss the fact that it is election day if you use facebook or twitter, people posting from the polls encouraging their family and friend to get out and vote. >> besides voting itself what else are people sharing on social media about these

elections. three on your side's jim donovan looks at what is trending. >> that is right jessica and chris. we have been monitoring all day long. lets look at twitter. they have been looking at each individual race as it occurs in each state. here in pennsylvania there have have been 42,000 tweets that have a political nature today so far. more men are tweeting out then women. average age of the person tweeting is 35 to 54 years old. now they are also looking at trending topics within those tweets. right now in pennsylvania president obama is trending as number one, terrorism including isis number two, health care, gun issues and immigration makes the top five. these numbers are expect to go up, as people leave work and head to the polls later on this evening. also especially when races are, when the the election polling places are closed and races are starting to be announced. here in new jersey, 25,000 people have been tweeting again more men then women. trending topics in new jersey president obama ranks number one, gun issues, terrorism,

election day weather. we love. that great day today do that. >> no excuses. we often say that. today for sure. temperatures rose to the 07's in many locations in the delaware valley. great day to be outside and get out the vote. very pleasant evening as well. looking outside center city studios to a picture perfect philadelphia a. we have a partly cloudy sky out there temperatures that are still quite mild. down the shore same goes, it is on the set, in the long ago, but it is sure pretty down there in atlantic city. high temperature in philadelphia made it to 71 degrees, today, the normal high only 60's. we're talking about 11 degrees above normal. tomorrow not quite as warm with more clouds but still pleasant around the region for this time of the year. lots of 70's on this board. these are highs. zero seven in allentown. zero seven in trenton. zero seven in lancaster. seventy-one in reading, wilmington, atlantic city and high 60's to the south and east. you can really see where cold front is, just carving a line

through the midwest to the south and east of little rock to the south of dallas these highs today in the 70's and 80's to the north and west mainly in the 60's and 50's and that cool air is coming behind this cold front. you can see the showers, from toronto all the way down to cincinnati and behind it, cooler air but in front of it we have one more day of partly to mostly cloudy skies but also dry conditions and warm temperatures. for your wednesday we will watch this front getting closer. temperatures in the 60's but do you see these showers through tennessee valley they will ride a raining this front with the an area of low pressure and give us a rainy windy day behind this front. cooler air will be moving in friday. wind will continue. temperatures will only be in the 50's. here's what we can expect for thursday, periods of rain, heavy at times, between a half inch and a inch of rain expected. wind gusting to 30 miles an hour and right now it looks like both morning and evening commute will be on the wet site. they will be slow. for your election evening

breaking news out of germantown where a man has been shot and rushed to the hospital. this was a scene at a sunoco station at germantown avenue. police say there was a fight in the parking lot and victim was shot four times, and he was taken to chestnut hill hospital in critical

the suicide of an american woman suffering terminal brain cancer. brittany maynard took her own life saying she wanted to die with dignity. the vatican's top bioethics official calls her death, quote reprehensible. maynard took her own life in oregon sunday after saying publicly she would do so. she started debate over assisted suicide for terminally ill. today marks 35th anniversary of the iran hostage crisis. group of students stormed the u.s. em bass is i in te h ran and kidnaped 52 americans as pay back for america's support for former shaw of iran. they were held in captivity for 444 days. tension between two countries were severed after the siege and formal relations have not been restored since. our live coverage of the campaign 2014 continues now, here in election central. republican tom mcarthur and democrat amy bellguard are bat tolling represent new jersey's third congressional district

laurel, pat ciarrocchi, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> pat, thanks very much. we will see you throughout the night. voters in new jersey are also deciding on their junior u.s. senator. the incumbent corry booker, the demies heavy favorite to win his first full term. of course last year booker won a special election to fill seat vacate following the death of u.s. senator frank lautenberg. political observers believe the former newark mayor will ring up a double digit win when it is all said and done. still booker's republican challenger jeff bell noise stranger to politics. the 70 year-old is a former aid to richard nixon, speech writer for ronald reagan and he ran for the senate in new jersey in both 1978 and 1982. well, a full third of the senate is up for reelection tonight but just nine of those states are considered toss ups right now. democrats trying to hang on to control of the upper chamber but the latest cbs news battle ground tracker shows the g.o.p. is likely to pick up
