. >> and breaking this morning, a fire breaks out at west philadelphia high-rise. smoke bill owed from the 18th floor of the west park ants on holden street. firefighters got the call shortly before two a.m. and evacuated three floors of residents. they got the flames under control about a half hour later. it is not clear yet what cause that blaze of the the good news, no injuries have been reported. >> also, seen in surveillance yo, now seeing him on the move, delvin barnes arrives in virginia, to face attempted murder charges. >> good morning, everyone, sources tell "eyewitness news" that the suspect has confessed to the abduction. >> now we're learning more on how investigators cracked that case. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabeo joins us at police headquarters with the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. this suspected kidnapper, delvin barnes, was transferred overnight after his

arraignment in maryland. he's now in virginia, facing number of charges, in a previous case there involving the alleged rape and kidnapping of a 16 year old girl. if you take look at the video, this is our first look at the suspect, you see him arriving in virginia in custody, that's 37 year old delvin barnes, he was spotted with carlesha in maryland three days after she was kidnapped off a germantown street. police say carlesha fought even harder to get away than we originally thought. investigators say once she was thrown into that car, she found a hammer inside, smashed out the window and attack her and duck to be, she is now resting at home with family. meanwhile the investigation continues in her case, when barnes could be connected to any other cases of course facing those charges in virginia n october barnes hit a girl in the head with a shovel in that state. through her in the trunk of had i his car and made her strip naked before terrorizing her, and had also told the girl he had kidnapped before.

>> we will go through our missing persons file, see if anything re metally fits as possible, we do know one thing, had we in the rescued her, the outcome may have been quite different. >> now, "eyewitness news" sources tell us that barnes has said he has confess today kidnapping carlesha. i should say this investigation continues, it is unknown when woe return to philadelphia to face federal charges here. coming up in our next half hour, we will hear from law enforcement who say that finding carlesha alive has been the highlight of their career. reporting live outside of police headquarters, jan carabeo, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> ankle police say eyewitness to the kidnapping was crucial in solving the case. >> duane fletcher was walking up green street in germantown when he heard carlesha screaming for help. fletcher immediately called 911 and gave police a description of the abduction and the get-away car. >> no, i'm just glad she's good, i'm good, you know what

pike, we have overnight construction that will be ongoing until 6:00 a.m. also, construction in delaware on nine # a northbound at 141, ongoing until 5:00 a.m. no delays at the airport, mass transit looks great. >> we have breaking news right now. one person is dead in a fire on the 3,000 block of north 22nd street in north philadelphia. we have learned that this is a homeless shelter. that fire broke out just before 3:00 on the third floor that far building. once again, one person is dead, our nicole brewer is headed to the scene. we'll have a report for you coming up as soon as possible. >> new this morning, woman hospitalized following this crash, in southwest philadelphia. police say the driver lost control and slammed into a church at the corner of 61st street and osage avenue in cobbs creek. she was taken to the hospital with a head injury. police are investigating whether alcohol may have played a role in that crash. >> happening today, members of transport workers union, local 234, are expected to approve a new two year contract with

septa. the deal would give work areas 5% wage increase over the life of the contract. if the agreement is rejected, union work letters strike at 12:01 monday morning, but again, that likely will not happen. >> also, happening today, president obama meets with congressional leader for the first time since the republicans won the senate in tuesday's midterms. speaker of the house john boehner and presumptive mitch mcconnell outlined got op goals yesterday in the wall street journal. they include completing the 2,000-mile keystone xl oil pipeline and repealing obama care. both sides spoke out yesterday. >> senator mcconnell didn't suggest he would fold on these prince. the president's not going do that either. >> the president continues to act on his own. he is going to play in the well. when you play with matches, you take the risk of burning yourself. >> both sides did say also they will need to work with each other to solve the problems facing the nation. >> prosecutors will seek the

death penalty for mother and her boyfriends accused of murdering a young boy, and it is a being showing case. thirty-one year old jillian tate and her boyfriends, 23 year old gary fell onbomb, accused of killing scotty inside a trailer in west caln township, her other son who is six badly beaten a n survived. scott had i been punched in the face and stomach, but the d.a. says that was just the beginning. >> he was surged with a homemade whip. he was lashed with a metal rod. he was tied to a chair and beaten. he was tied up side down by his feet and beaten. >> that man's wife, who also lived in the trailer with their baby, facing child endangerment charges. she reportedly found the body and called 911. police say, though, that she could have intervened earlier. it is 4:38 on your friday morning, and the navy seal who says he killed osama bin laden

your morning commute this friday. no delays, no problems, and earlier construction zone that we had even on the schuylkill has cleared out of the way. all-in-all a great ride. looking at 59 around the area of broad street, broad street exit, northbound direction, you're free and clear, no delays approaching the girard point bridge, in and out of the northeast, delaware county and traveling on the schuylkill expressway, again, wide open. speed censors are high up into the 50's, 55 on the schuylkill, 476, turnpike clear, northeast extension clear, however, in new jersey, we have construction, overnight construction, on 29 at in either direction, at 168, the black horse pike, ongoing until 6:00 a.m. no delays for mass transit, and watch out from this construction project in delaware, as well, 141, until about 5:00. but still seems we're trying to clear things up weather wise until we get to this weekend? definitely true, we are actually going toned up with pretty quiet weekends overall in the werth department, vet tore y but we're sort of in transition mode, so can't rule out residual shower. we find on radar here, ground clutter at the radar site, storm
