that car was recovered near the the tacony palmyra bridge but the wife, now says that she's living in fear. she talked tonight with "eyewitness news" reporter david swanson and he joins us live from northeast detectives, david. >> reporter: chris, police are optimistic this guy will turn himself in at some point here. if that doesn't happen they will go find him. they are drawing up a warrant. when that happens he will be charged with hassment violating a protective order and putting two police officers from the dive team in danger. >> i could not believe it, it was unimaginable what took place. >> reporter: this woman said she is scared for her life. she said her estrange husband has no remorse for dumping her corvette into the delaware river monday evening. >> he threatened me that he was, you know, going to do it. >> reporter: she said he threatened before. she even took out a protective order against him. she tells cbs-3 her house band texted her after her car disappeared in the waters.

of america flags at two cemetery in bensalem. a feasterville man is now arrested and charged. burn marks scared the grave stone, as well as the bundle of american flags, evidence have of arson. now bensalem township police have a suspect, 29 year-old anthony davis, carter under arrest. >> i'm glad that this happened on veterans day. we were able to make closure of an individual burning american flags, an individual that was, disgracing veteran cemeteries. >> reporter: back on august the 26th when police discovered vandalism at rosedale garden of valor and roosevelt memorial park. flags and grave markers ripped from their place of honor. police, stepped up patrols. >> one night an officer came across an individual walking across the cemetery. wasn't doing anything at that time but appeared to be suspicious. officer engaged that suspect and able to obtain dna from that individual. our dna came back from our local date base that the dna

from that individual matched dna taken from one of the burned flags. >> reporter: carter is charge with institutional vandalism, arson and related offences. despite the the dna connecting him, carter denies any involvement. >> this guy will not be disgracing anymore cemeteries or flags, hopefully in the near future. why he can it? who knows what was going through his head. >> reporter: vandalism charge is second degree felony and if carter is quick he could face jail time. reporting live from bensalem, pat ciarrocchi, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> all right, pat, thank you. suspect in the abduction of carlesha freeland gaither is now back in philadelphia "eyewitness news" cameras were there as vehicles carrying delven barnes arrived at federal detention center today. he will have a hearing in federal court tomorrow. barnes was being held on other charges in virginia but he was brought here to face charges he kidnaped free land gaither and held her for three days. authorities found them in maryland last wednesday.

well, a nasty and early case of winter weather is punishing the upper midwest and rockies tonight: at least two people died on icy roads, across minnesota today people awoke to find piles of snow and feel freezing temperatures from colorado to wisconsin this arctic blast arrived weeks ahead of schedule closing some schools and causing those accidents. more than 150 flights have been delayed or canceled, as many minneapolis st. paul airport. no cold here, just temperatures that are more may, then november. but, all good things we know come to an end and chilly change, is on the way. lets go outside meteorologist kathy orr is live on the cbs-3 sky deck with that first forecast, hi kathy. >> it is warm when i don't have a coat on. temperatures soaring through 60's today and many spots made it to 70. i can say with quite confidence that we are going to be seeing anything like this for a while. take a look at the numbers for today, high temperature in philadelphia made it to

70 degrees, average high for this time of the year is 58. we're talk about 2 degrees above normal. yesterday mild as well. this evening a few breaks in the clouds at 7:00 p.m. temperature falling to 62 at 9:00 o'clock. sixty-one. still 60 degrees at 11:00 o'clock hour. the here's the cold. you can see rain through cincinnati, that is cold front behind it, cold and snow, to the east we are still basking in the glow of mild temperatures. tomorrow is going to be a day of change, early high temperatures will be in the 60's but temperatures will plunge as that front moves through and cold northwesterly wind will begin. coming up we will talk more about the cold temperatures, colder air of the season moving in the with the arctic blast and temperatures will fall below freezing in the seven day forecast. there is a chance of rain maybe even a little bit of wet snow. that transitional time of the year where anything goes. kate and i will be back with the forecast later in the broadcast. >> kathy, thanks very much. a fire forced the

evacuation of the wannamaker building in center city. chopper three over 13th and market street just before 10:00 this morning. you can see people out there standing on the sidewalk. this fire started on the ninth floor but the cause wasn't immediately clear. no one was hurt and everyone was eventually allowed back inside. investigators say the the overnit fire at the abington ymca started in the child care room. there was a problem with the heating and air conditioning unit in the room, smoke and water damage was reported but by late this afternoon baby-sitting services had resume. fire at six flags great adventure may have been intentionally set. this animal closure was destroyed. we know two antelopes were able to escape the flames. a number of brush fires were reported a quarter mile from the park last night and eyewitnesses described seeing a man on his bicycle near the fire scene. now on this vetans day a solute to the all wars memorial to colored soldiers and sailors. in their red, white and blue and waved american flags all their way of saying thank you for your services. the with the president in china, vice-president joe biden led veterans day ceremony at arlington senate met try. mr. biden laid wreath of the tomb of the unknown solder. he said america would not be the country we know today without sacrifice of soldiers, sailors, air men marines and coastguardsmen. >> for the veterans of america, the most trusted among us and the most tested of all americans. >> he singled out those who enlisted after 9/11 saying never before has the united states asked so much over such a sustain period of time for an all will volunteer force. the arrival of veterans began today's special ceremony at national world war two memorial in washington d.c. this entry minded all americans to never forget sacrifice of those who dedicated their life to preserve their liberties and

rowan college honored veterans for bravery, sacrifice and courage for their special ceremony today. rowan college recognized 16 faculty and staff members who have served in the military. cbs-3 healthwatch today new hope for vietn veterans who have higher rates of hepatitis c, and millions of others who suffered from that illness. >> on this veterans day health reporter stephanie stahl has the exclusive story of how one vet's life has been changed. >> i was looking for familiar names. >> reporter: joe banco of the philadelphia vietnam veterans memorial feeling lucky. >> it is add when you see names here and think about what they did to put down

their lives to give us freedom. you know what i mean, it is inspiring. >> reporter: joe received an honorable discharge before being sent to vietnam, years later he was diagnosed with hepatitis c a silent epidemic because people don't know they have it until their bloodies tested. vietnam vets have higher rates of hepatitis c. it is spread by blood from transfusions or needles. joe say, he could have been infect during basic training when solders were lined up for vaccinations. >> i don't know if they had a cleansing process from one solder to the next solder. >> reporter: hepatitis c causes liver damage, joe was told his time was running out when he decided to test a drug, made by gilliad science which provided this video. the the drug, is a quicker easier treatment with a impressive cure rate. >> it basically, a allowed the body to eradicate the infection. it represents a marked step forward literally a game change inner our treatment of this serious illness.

more on breaking news, four people hurt when a school bus overturns following a crash in mercer county. >> this all happened after 3:00 o'clock on route 206 in princeton. "eyewitness news" reporter diana rocco joins us live at the scene with more now, diana. >> reporter: chris and jessica, just moments ago that school bus was towed out of here, police still have 206 closed as they conclude this investigation. they are getting ready to reopen this road. chopper three was overhead earlier, as four people were injured, three on that school bus, including a 44 year-old driver, a 71 year-old bus aid and 16 year-old student. twenty-six year-old driver of the bmw did walk away with bumps and bruises they are all

getting check out at area hospitals. police say around 3:00, the bus and bmw were traveling on opposite directions when they clipped bumpers flipping that bus on its side. police say the bus was coming from rockbrook school in still man, new jersey. it is still unclear who was at fault here. that is part of the active investigation. police say based on the conditions of both of these vehicles, the injuries here could have been much more worse. i'm told that everyone aboard that bus was wearing their seat belts. police do attribute that, to the non-life threatening injuries, in this case, again, four people injured, all getting check out at area hospitals. we're live from princeton tonight, i'm diana rocco for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". new at 5:30 a warning for women police in chester county are now searching for a robbery suspect, targeting woman leaving work. "eyewitness news" reporter justin finch is live in caln township with the latest on this investigation, justin.

>> reporter: police now no one thing for sure that this general area here, is a parking lot off of lincoln highway is where these crimes took place. they also know as you mentioned that the the victims were women leaving work over the weekend, and they were robbed as they got inside have of their cars. but what remains unclear at this time is if the same guy is behind both robberies. over the weekend this shopping strip off lincoln highway between veterans and north caln became a backdrop for two robberies first here at this pizza hut saturday. at ten that night we're told a manager left the store with the bank deposit bag in her hand. she nor the bag ever made it to the bank though. will caln police say she was about to start her car when she was ambush by a man dressed in all black, even a black scarves, covering his face. the two for the over that cash bag and then in the end, he snatches the bag, and then returns away with the money. >> i would be scared. >> reporter: almost 24 hours later a couple hundred feet away, a second and very

similar heist. a worker from amelia's grocery outlet heads to her car at 9:30 p.m. the parking lot was dark. as she got in the car she was pepper sprayed in her face. that gave just if you have time for band to it pick through valuables of her car and escape. two women targeted at night as they left work. >> it is scary, but it just can't stop you for doing what you want to do, and it just make you more alert. >> reporter: sond victim was sent to brandywine hospital to recover there her injuries, never able to get a good look at the man who did this to her. >> i hope that he is caught real soon, whoever he may be. >> reporter: now over the next several days, shoppers will see increased patrols in this area we also did reach out to caln police for more details in the case. they say it is just too soon to release them at this time, about that suspect , described as a black male about 6 feet one, weighing

cbs-3 "eyewitness news". any day now a ferguson grand jury could reach a decision on whether to indict the police officer who shot and killed teenager michael brown. today missouri governor jane nixon outlined law enforcement plans to deal with any unrest following the announcement. brown was shot and killed by officer darren wilson on august 9th. governor nixon says looting and the violence that marred mostly peaceful protests cannot be repeated. >> officers from the missouri state highway patrol, st. louis county police and st. louis city police will operate as a unified command to protect the the public. the national guard has been and will continue to be part of our contingency planning. >> federal authorities have been training officers in the st. louis area on fair and impartial policing. pennsylvania's united states senators are spending this veterans take honoring those wounded while serving our country. senators bob casey and pat toomey attended a event honoring path wounded warriors

happy veterans day everyone. we do thank you all for your services. as of right now we will check with our traffic. you will notice we are definitely delayed. traveling on the northbound and southbound side of 95 we are slow in and out of the north east and center city philadelphia we have an usher concert tonight in south philadelphia. so, even delays around there started around 7:30. traveling in new jersey on the freeway, commuting in the northbound direction, we're seeing delays, stemming back to 55 and continue to be slowed down towards the walt whitman bridge. it is rush hour traffic. nothing incident related. southbound on the 42 freeway slow go down to 556789 it is affecting 55 and 295. as we take a look at our speed sensors we are in the 20's, 25 is your average on the schuylkill. high volume eastbound around the curve. twenty-six on 476. traveling gannon i-95 we are at 23 miles an hour. we are also still dealing with that accident involving a school bus closing 206, the school bus has been towed out of the way, so we are still

earlier this afternoon shortly after this happened, police say around 3:00 o'clock today. bus was coming from rockbrook school in skill man, new jersey on board was a 16 year-old student, 71 year-old bus aid and 44 year-old bus driver when it collided with a bmw, heading in the opposite direction on 206. here's what police say happened next. >> bus was traveling south, on state highway 206, just behind us, and the bmw, on state highway 206. they don't have an exact location of impact, and still being determined, and one of the vehicles crossed over the center line, to create the impact, but that is still undernvestigation. >> reporter: everybody on board that school bus was wearing a seat belt and a 26 year-old driver of that bmw was able to walk away from this crash with only bps and bruises.
