29 year old and police have not ruled out a possibility that she may have been a pedestrian and struck by a hit and run driver. just to set the scene here, it all happened at cottman and algon avenue in northeast high school. you can see the second car involved in the crash is still on the lawn out in front of the high school. we can tell you that the 48 year-old man suffered a head injury, from the crash but was placed in critical condition. unfortunately the same cannot be said in that woman. she's in bad shape at torresdale hospital. we are awaiting conditions at this time. we do want to tell thaw all lanes of cottman avenue between algon and somerdale avenues are closed as a result of the crash. but again the investigation still early on, so a lot of questions but for now we do see two cars, involved in this crash and again, two people sent to the hospital, early in the morning. that is latest live from northeast philadelphia, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness

news". all right, nicole thank you for that. officials are working to determine what caused a fire in this vacant home in north philadelphia overnight. crews responded to the 400 block of east makefield street in fair hill. it was quickly placed under control but no injuries were reported. philadelphia police are is asking for public's help. renold ocean who was last seen at north dover street in brewerytown yesterday afternoon. police say ocean suffers from depression. he is men to frequent area along kelly drive and a park near 33rd and girard. lets get our traffic and weather right now and send it out to katie. >> good morning, ukee. good morning, everybody. you may not see it very easily behind me but the city sky line is starting to be less and less visible. it is disappearing before our very eyes here courtesy of the low lying cloud cover that is building in and we will get cloud cover when we have moisture to work w it can settle in so low to the the surface when wind is light enough.

closure of cottman at algon so use tyson as an alternate. not only is this affecting cottman and algo but also algon and bleigh. give yourself some more time this morning. we are looking at the schuylkill expressway which looks good speed sensors are still pretty high up because we are in the seeing that big time rush just yet. traveling on i-95 at 52. fifty-five on the schuylkill, 55 on 476. in delays for mass transit and things at philadelphia international airport look great this morning, ukee. >> torey, thank you. delvin warnes had has a federal court hearing in philadelphia he is back in town for an extradition for crimes in virginia. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from the federal courthouse in center city. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. delvin barnes is back here in philadelphia awaiting his first court appearance, his initial appearance in philadelphia, as he is facing federal charges to are that kidnapping caught on camera in germantown and now we have new information on whether or not

barnes could be possibly linked to any other cases. delvin barnes arrived in philadelphia tuesday afternoon in federal custody. he was transferred from a virginia prison to the u.s. courthouse here to face charges in the kidnapping of the 22-year old carlesha gaither. police say this is barnes on surveillance video in germantown snatching the woman off the street and throwing her in the back of his car. after a three day manhunt barnes was arrested in maryland. carlesha return home. her family grateful her kidnapper was behind bars. afterwards, barnes first taken to virginia where he faces a a number of charges there involving the alleged kidnapping and rape of the 16 year-old girl set on fire during her attack. but now barnes is held here at federal detention center as prosecutors build their case in philadelphia and prior to present evidence to the grand jury, investigators are working to see if barnes is, and attack and disappearance. reports say "eyewitness news" that the suspect's dna has

been entered in a database, and, have have been found throughout the city. reports of miss would go man are also under review. sources say that the federal detention center could be barnes last stop. a grand jury here could consider charges in both virginia and philadelphia attack. prison official where is not available to indicate whether barnes will be in isolation and sue site watch as he was in virginia. if indicted and convicted he could face a life time behind bars. reporting live from philadelphia, jane carabao for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". also happening today, full operations will resume at the pennsylvania state police blooming grove barracks that has been closedded since september 12th ambush that killed brian dickson and seriously injured alex douglass. at alleged shooter eric frein was charged for the attack after a seven week manhunt. trooper douglass last is still recovering. he is at a new york city hospital that specializes in

covering this accident, and as we are taking a look at this now this is at intersection of cottman and algon in the northeast section of philadelphia it is right out of the doorstep out of northeast high school. that vehicle is on the lawn of northeast high school. as you can tell this is an incident out there for quite sometime so therefore cottman avenue will be closed for quite sometime at algone. tyson avenue is your best alternate. we have word of an incident on 295, affecting 492 free waste north bound approaching that point. you will need to give yourself more time there we will update you on that accident. it is 295 at black horse pike as we approach that point in the north bound direction. moving now to 476 this shot here of the blue route around mid county no major delays. still our speed sensors are looking good but we are starting to see that drop on i-95 southbound heading in the city which will get bigger, ukee. breaking news lead this look at headlines on cbs-3. two people are in the hospital

after a crash at cottman and algon in the northeast. one car wound up on the lawn of northeast high. also delvin barnes makes his first appearance in the philadelphia courtroom on charges he abducted carlesha freeland gaither from a germantown street earlier this month. freeland gaither was found live with barnes after a huge manhunt. month injuries from this fire on mayfield street. the homes was vacant. they are trying to figure out how that fire started. we will be right back.

here's storm scan three looking at it when we take it outside for example here outside middletown ship high school. we would see genesis bay in the distance here. you cannot make outfield in the foreground so very, very thick fog settling in especially through southeastern, new jersey and even into southern delaware with dense fog advisories until 10:00 a.m. we do see some sunshine across the board but breeze kicks in and temperatures respond and we will cool down, vittoria. >> thanks very much, katie. good morning, everybody. traveling on our majors it is not awful but we are seeing delays and accidents, causing delays, in new jersey. as we take a look at 42 freeway it is foggy. katie has been talking about the fog all morning. watch out for that in new jersey. traveling on the 42 in the northbound direction approaching 295, you are slowing down and that is because on the north bound side of 295, as you approach the black horse pike, we have an accident, compromising the lane so traveling in this area generally speaking will not be easy.

we're following breaking news in bensalem, bucks county, we are looking live at the scene of a deadly accident outside wawa on route one. we're told a person got trapped under a car after getting hit around 5:00 this morning. right now route one is closed while police investigate but do avoid that area vittoria has detours in a few minutes.

good morning, everyone. more on our other breaking story two people hospitalized following a crash so violent one car came to rest on the lawn of northeast high school. >> "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us a at cottman and algon with the very latest on this investigation, nicole, good morning. >> reporter: good morning to both of you. i can tell you police are in longer investigating this as a possible hit and run accident. they say that this white vehicle is registered to the 29 year-old woman who was found beneath it early this morning, again following this two car crash. initially they weren't sure if she was struck as a pedestrian so that is why they were investigating as such but the female was headed northbound on algon avenue when she collided with a man traveling east bound on cottman avenue. we are told one of the drivers may have run a red light causing that crash which then set the woman's car spinning and then ultimately eject her through the car's window. the other car was last year and ended up on the lawn outside northeast high school.

we are told they were both taken to torresdale hospital. the the man suffered a broken neck. that is an update for you and he is in critical but stable condition. the woman is in bad shape and at last check we're told she's still alive. we are continue to check on her condition. meanwhile all lanes at cottman between algon and somerdale avenues are closed as a result of this crash and, of course, students coming into northeast high school will contend with this accident scene as well. that is very latest live from northeast philadelphia, nicole brewer, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> also happening today concerned parents, educators and lawmakers will rap any southwest philadelphia calling for an increased security at a city school. this is video of the substitute teacher lying in the hallway at bartram high school in king sessing after a student threw him to the ground slamming his head to the floor. three teachers assaulted there in the past month. today's rally will be at the high school. police in princeton, new

jersey continue to investigate the serious school bus crash that injured four people and investigators say bus collided with this white bmw on route 206 tuesday afternoon. you can see from chopper three right now all three people on board including a 16 year-old student carried out on stretchers. the bus driver's mother says she's thankful in of the injuries were life threatening. >> she was doing good and in pain. >> the bus looks terrible. she was lucky, you know, she was lucky. >> we understand all three people hospitalized are back home this morning, but police are investigating who is responsible for the crash and if charges will be filed. right now 6:33. today you are saying is a day of transition, right katie. >> absolutely we will see different things take place here in the atmosphere. we have moisture building up here, it is leading to very, very dense fog issues through southeastern most new jersey,

delaware and then you have a cold front crossing. it is a moton cold front but when we take you outside here to storm scan three you will not see a heck of a lot of moisture with this thing. what is up, what it lacks up in moisture will make up for in the cold air. this is same system over western pennsylvania that brought in all have of that snow to the northern tear of the u.s. in the meantime we have a light enough win out there and on the moisture beginning to build, but the fog is a very significant concern and deer are out, so mild, everybody is confused in nature here as to what is going on and when we talk temperatures like this you will see some fog and it will feel like a spring morning to you. 58 degrees in ac. in mid to upper 50's across the rest of the boarden mount pocono but this is on the way, my friend, look at the drop off just back to cleveland. so eventually we're looking at essentially a 20-degree drop on the thermometer, today is your last gasp of mild air. i have a very good feeling we will not be seeing anymore

"eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from the federal courthouse with more, jan. >> reporter: that is right, ukee, delvin barnes is back in philadelphia to face federal charges awaiting his initial court appearance. police believe he is man responsible for kidnapping that 22-year old in germantown and sparking a three day manhunt. looking at the video you can

see him arrive here yesterday afternoon. you see him arriving in the two vehicle fbi caravan. he was transferred to the courthouse to face charges. this is barnes as well seen on surveillance video grabbing carlesha gaither in germantown, grabbing her for a block and throwing her in the back of car. investigators say he targeted gaither at random. they were eventually found three days later in jessup, maryland. barnes was arrested and then taken to virginia where he faces a number of other charges for at alleged kidnapping and rape of the 16 year-old girl there but now he is in federal custody as federal prosecutors build their case, here in philadelphia, now prison officials weren't in immediately available to indicate whether or not morris will remain in isolation or suicide watch in philadelphia as he did in virginia. if indicted and quick he could face a life time behind bars and coming up in our next half an hour, we will give you more on the investigation as you may remember investigators are looking into whether barnes is
