and today is thursday, november 13th, good morning, i'm ukee washington. i'm erika von tiehl. here are stories we are following this morning. big chill that is blown through rockies and midwest inches closer to us. while we don't need shovels some could see snow. katie has forecast. a man visiting his mother in south philadelphia is gunned down. another man is dead, the the latest on the search, for the the gun man. for a casino in south philadelphia a, neighbors a they don't want it in their backyard. those stories and more coming up, lets check our forecast and some folks might see snow flakes later today.

>> some people might see i'm liking these words, katie. >> that is exactly right, guys. we are looking at a little disturbance and watching it all week. one of these will it or won't it kind of things where it is setting up. we will break that down in a he can but we will start off with the here and now. sky cam three over ben franklin bridge is totally quiet. we can see the the entire city sky line here, no problems with visibility initially but later today we will see these clouds building with this new disturbance coming our way. we have nothing to see here. we have a nice clear sky. there are clouds tart to go thicken up across central pennsylvania and south and west and it is disturbance that comes from the southwest that brings us our potential for any wet weather of any kind but we have some lake effect snow, kick nothing here across the great lakes and that is helping to feed in the cold air to our area what are we looking at here in terms of precipitation. this is a little weak area

have low pressure sipping in. that is why clouds tart to build as morning and afternoon progress. here is first sliver of wet weather. our models pick it that it will happen in the northern and western suburbs first. i got to tell you this cold air needs to settle, if you are going to see any accumulation out there. it just got here. so i'm not personally sold that you will see much in the way of any kind of a accumulation potential. if we see it at all you have to go far northwest, you have to let that cold air settle in and at worse we're talking on grass surfaces and windshield. by 11:00 tonight, temperatures will have dropped but still too warm for anything but chilly rain. it is all out by friday morning, we have cleared out for sunshine. lets give you a sense of what these temperatures will do by 2:00 p.m. upper 40's and then even by 11:00 there are outlying suburbs that are not flirting with freezing yet. by 3:00 a.m. this system is

out and we still are for the most part above freezing in spots. here's where we stan right now, yes, colder, in the 30's in quite a few locations, cold air, up across the great lakes but as our day progresses expect a dry day but towards night fall that any additional showers start to move in. if you have outdoor plans the umbrella wouldn't be the the worst idea, vittoria, good morning. >> good morning, everyone. roads look great, traveling anywhere, this shot in the area of the spring garden east and westbound commute really moving well not just around center city but throughout your western suburbs just good news this morning. even as we continue to i-95 right around cottman avenue. we have cones here, we have been used to this for quite on time. construction zones at cottman and girard tend to set you back every morning and afternoon, every time of the day, but at least right now we are not dealing with volume. we are still waiting on the rush. with that said let look at our speed sensors.

fifty-five on i-95. same on the schuylkill, blue route. it looks like a slow down making your way on 422 down toward 202 but generally speaking it is not awful out there. we have a fire location in southwest philadelphia. as florence avenue between 55th ape 56th, warrington avenue would be your best alternate here. if you are traveling in delaware we have overnight construction on the southbound side of i-95 at church man's road and right lane block until will 5:00 a.m. developing right now, police are investigating, in south philadelphia. >> officers responded to sixth and winton street just before 8:00 o'clock. a 35 year-old man died of the gunshot wound to the head and a 56 year-old man who is an off-duty septa bus driver is in critical condition with the gunshot wound to the chest. eyewitnesses say he often visits the neighborhood to check on his mother, they found casings from two semiautomatic weapons. also investigators say

driver of this car dragged a philadelphia police officer several feet in north philadelphia last night. it happened during a car stopped near 21st and oxford. the officer fired at least one shot at the car before it got away. police located the the empty koran north lambert street a short time later. authorities identified a man who turned up at jefferson hospital with the gun shot wound to the arm as a driver. the officer only suffered minor bumps ape bruises. new this morning normal services are expect to resume on septa's trenton regional rail line after a minor train derailment in north philadelphia. still see a couple snow flakes mixing in certain locations, namely, north and west of philadelphia. it is just not cold enough just yet. but it is colder then it was yesterday for sure. we will show thaw 24 hour temperature difference in a second but lets start off here on storm scan three. now what you are find ago cross the great lakes region is just lake effect snow, mostly which is a hard time surviving moving into north central pennsylvania. this isn't our issue. we have a separate disturbance that has yet to form but it will be sipping in from the southwest like that and that is where we will start our potential for wet weather by tonight. so today, for now we will continue to see nothing but clear skies, but you're generally watching the clouds build more as time goes on and then as early as late afternoon, through the north and western most suburbs is our first chance to see rain showers get triggered there and rest of the region starts to fill in. i told but that 24 hour

temperature difference. it is noticeable out there we are basically from 20 to 20 plus degrees colder then it was yesterday at this same time. if you recall when you walked out the door it was a little foggy and misty but it sure felt good. mid 50's and 60's in spots. the cold stretch begins today and no sooner do we blink we will see a disturbance coming in. this will be a disturbance that triggers rain showers initially, chilly rain for philadelphia, we're in the talking about widespread wash out with this but it is mainly tonight and throughout the overnight, but because it is coming at night you've got to see wet snow flakes mixed in. if we see that snow and things set up just right where cold air is settling in. maybe a coating a across the far northern and western suburbs but only on grass and windshield. by tomorrow and at day though skies are clearing. feeling more like december with high pressure regaining control. today clouds are on the build

"eyewitness news" at 5500 block of florence avenue. the call came out just a after 2:00 this morning. fire fighters got the the flames under control in 30 minutes but that fire had already spread to two neighboring homes. we have learn at least five people are displaced. got news is there is no injuries reported. once again though three homes damaged by fire overnight in the king sessing section of philadelphia. time for your sports report and the sixers hit the hardwood later tonight in dallas still looking for win number one on the season.

detectives are on a murder scene in west philadelphia a we have learned that a woman was found dead inside her home, this is happening on 53rd street. no word on the actual cause of death, however, officers tell us that the six two-year old woman had bruises on her body and another woman in that home was taken to the hospital as well, we are told that she also suffered from bruises but her injuries are not considered serious.
