5:43 am
take a look right now at the best buy, this is in fort myers, florida, hence the shore sleeves. yes, so people are camping out. some of them say it is not even about the deals, but rather, it is just a, quote, fun time. ya, in case you're wondering, these people do have jobs, they tell us they use the buddy system. >> when i need to go to work, i go to work, and he stays here, his wife's here, when he goes to work, we're not at work, we're right here. >> all right, well, those shoppers say they brought food, they got their grill right there, but local restaurants like mow's and dunkin donuts, also bringing them some free treats. just to, you know, keep them going. >> how about that? >> two weeks of camping in a parking lot, wow. >> 5:43, oh, oh, trivia time. >> it is, i was going circumstances i thought i was an extreme tailgate err. like i tailgate big time. but that's like my gosh. all right, guys, let's move it right into this. now, you thought yesterday's snowfall was early, right? what's the earliest date that we've ever had measurable snowfall in philadelphia?
5:44 am
was it october 19th, october 29th, november 6th, or november 12th? who would like to start it off? >> i'll start. >> erika, what do you think? >> i'm going to go just on a whim on a, ten/19. >> earlier the better, right? >> hey! >> i mean, we've seen this kind of thing happen so many times where very odd storm systems come at atypical time. you know, we can see weather of any casino at any time. it is to just all depends on what does mother nature feel like on that dayment now, storm scan3, we take you out, gave you a sense of what's to come. already, had our system last night, won't call it full blown storm system, but ended up grabbing moisture from the atlantic now the back edge of the clouds, currently moving out of say the state capitol of harrisburg, and we're going to end one more sunshine as the day goes o but we sit between systems of low and high pressure, so that gets your pressure gradient going, it also gets your northwest breeze then as a result.
5:45 am
so, these temperatures, as they stand right now, to the 30's, they really only feel like they're into the 20's. so knock 10 degrees off. that's how it feels. could be worse, though, actual air temperatures are, in fact, in the 20's, up through the great lakes, zero across the canadian prairie, even colder, below zero, 13 below in bismarck. but take a look at this, by comparison it, just goes to show, again, mother nature can do what she will. thirty-one right now, in barrel, alaska, coal nerve places like even birmingham, alabama, than it is here, or than it is up in alaska, i should say. meanwhile, we get you through the rest of the forecast, quiet weekend but cold weekends, more clouds by sunday, then the next storm system just getting its act together. looks like it does arrive into monday, at this point, and i'm thinking mainly a heavy rainmaker, but there is some indication that there could be some wintery mixing that goes on in the back side of it. and then, just temperatures take another plummet hereby tuesday, even though we clear out, only hitting 39 degrees.
5:46 am
vittoria? >> yippee. good morning, everyone, one piece of good news i have for you, your commute right now not awful, but still early at 5:46 this morning, if you are traveling out and b you'll get on the roads around 6:00, 6:15, and that's when things will take a little bit after dip. but we're going to take a look now at 202. this is 202 northbound, disable vehicle at the ramp to the schuylkill expressway. you'll notice it is on the shoulder, not causing too much of a problem, almost looks like it is abandoned at this point. but it is not causing any major delays. as we move now to 309, taking a look at 309 right at the pa turnpike, as we follow some of these vehicle, here, you will notice the headlights picking up sheen on the roadway, and that's an indicator, because that far weather, though, we've had overnight, to just take it extra easy out, there still can be very slippery. with that said, our speed censors are still great as i mentioned, not only in pa but also new jersey, delaware, where we're still moving well. however, this afternoon, this morning, the platt bridge eastbound will be closed, that's heading down toward the schuylkill in south philly due to overhead repairs, stay on
