the florida panhandle and more certainly in the cards. >> while severe storms are dumping rain in alabama and wind gusts of 50 miles per hour are raising fears of wildfires. red flag warnings are in effect in southern california. ferguson, missouri, and communities across the country are bracing themselves this morning. they could learn as early as today whether a white police officer will face charges in the shooting death of michael brown, an unarmed black teen. omar villafranca reports from ferguson. >> reporter: some business owners in ferguson, missouri, and other nearby towns are bracing for the grand jury's decision. they're boarding up their stores in anticipation of possible violence once it is announced whether or not ferguson police officer darren wilson will be indicted for the august shooting death of unarmed teenager michael brown. this stretch of west florida

investigation into the illegal distribution of painkillers. medical staff from the san francisco 49ers, the tampa bay buccaneers, and the seattle seahawks were questioned. there were no arrests. lawsuits by former players contend team doctors administer the drugs without prescriptions and that the drugs mask and worsen injuries. a surgeon who contracted ebola in west africa is fighting for his life at a hospital in nebraska this morning. he arrived saturday. doctors say his condition is extremely critical. it's unclear how he caught the virus. he lives in sierra leone but is a permanent citizen of the united states. they have taken their public sites offline. they're making repairs in response to a suspected hacker attack. an official says no classified areas were affected. and president obama is back

at the white house this morning after the his trim to the asia-pacific region. he stepped off "air force one" late sunday and with a showdown with republicans on immigration. on cbs's "face the nation" bob schieffer asked mike leake if republicans are ready to shut down the government over possible executive actions. >> it's difficult for us to know how best we should respond when we don't know what he's going to do yet, but we're standing ready looking at the fact that it's important for us to defend a rule of law. >> the president and republicans in office are at odds over the keystone pipeline on the gulf coast. and president obama says the beheading of aid worker peter kassig is pure evil. kassig is the fifth that isis has killed. susan mcginnis is in washington. susan, good morning.

>> good morning, anne-marie. peter kassig is being remembered as a humanitarian who helped save the lifes of those caught in civilian war. now washington is accelerating its efforts to destroy the group. the 15-minute video reportedly shows isis militants their faces exposed decapitating syrian soldiers. at the end a masked man stands ore peter kassig. he is the third american and fifth hostage killed by isis. unlike previous isis videos it doesn't show kassig alive before the beheading. the group does identify the location and threatens military personnel. residents of kassig's home state of indiana remember the sacrifices he made to help syrians in need.

sexual assault allegations. two planned tv appearances have been scrapped including one on cbs's "late show," and as carter evans reports, the accusations against bill cosby are not new. >> this is the first time he's been accused. bob simon asked him point blank. >> this question givens me no pleasure, mr. cosby, but there have been questions raised about you in recent days. you shake your head no. i'm in the news business. i have to ask that question. do you have any response too these charges? shaking your head no. >> reporter: the allegations date back to a 2005 civil lawsuit in which it claims bill cosby drugged and sexually assaulted a woman in his home. bill cosby denied his accusations but more than a dozen other women with cases of similar assault testified against him. the case is set to go to trial.

one of the witnesses is speaking out. actress barbara said he abused her multiple times after agreeing to be her mentor. bill cosby raped me. why did it take 30 years for people to believing my story. i'll never forget his clicking belt as he attempted to pull his pants off. cosby has never spoken publicly about any of the allegations, but the online backlash became aggressive this week when his twilter account asked followers to post pictures with funny captions. this was the response. classic photos of the famous tv dad with pointed comments about his alleged behavior. the statute of limitations has run out so cosby cannot be tried in court but he may be well facing a battle in the court of public opinion.

police in new york say a man hit by a subway train was pushed to his death. the 61-year-old victim was with his wife on the platform in the bronx early sunday. the attack appears to be unprovoked. the police are looking for person of interest seen in surveillance video. and a french tourist faces charges this morning for climbing the brooklyn bridge. the man scaled the security fence and mounted the span before the nypd took him into custody sunday. he's charged with reckless endanger money and criminal trespass. it's the latest of security breaches this year at the iconic bridge. federal health investigators are investigating a viral outbreak on a cruise ship in california. mar than 170 passengers were sickened on a voyage from hawaii to tahiti. they were treated on a ship which departed on sunday. they conducted a thorough
