shopped still smoldering in building four of the columbus market are waiting to get back inside to see if anything at all is salvageable. most of that section in the market has lost everything. >> we're just waiting to see is what going on. we don't know what will happen. >> reporter: silver lining the market was closed for business and fire chief said they don't believe that anyone was inside. >> had it been a busy thursday or a thursday of thanksgiving it would have been a tremendous amount of people here and sheer chaos. >> reporter: despite challenge of strong wind, fire fighters say they were able to contain the fire mostly one building in the market's cluster. building four is made up of shops and restaurants. chief says renovations to the market in the 70's helped protect it. >> fortunately the building was built with firewalls in place which helped us tree mend usually to confine the fire to one section of the market rather than losing the whole thing. >> reporter: we're told both firewalls were installed in the 70's, again after an

it happened as dozens of worshipers gathered for morning prayers, reports say it was carried out by two palestinian men armed with the gun and butcher knife. they were eventually killed by police in the shoot-out. among victims was rabbi who has family in lakewood township, new jersey. "eyewitness news" reporter cleve bryan has more. >> i walk in the apartment and he was just crying. >> reporter: lakewood committeeman mayor lick even stein was with the family of rabbi mosha as he received news of his violent death in israel. early tuesday morning inside this apartment he helped ra fey yale make travel arrangement to attend the burr will contractual this afternoon he shared a statement from his widow. >> it was most remarkable, beloved husband father and grandfather. he a had special relationship with each family member. he was a teacher to thousands of students. he was extraordinarily kind and gentle and could not hurt another human being. he dedicated his life to

bucks county man is behind bars tonight in connection with a death of his two-year old son. police say that cocoa wallace was in possession of oxycodone when he was caring for the child last month at their home in middletown township. autopsy results show that the child tested positive for the same painkiller, three times the level needed to kill an adult. woman dies when her car plunges in the schuylkill river, the volvo wagon came down hunting park avenue today, crossed over kelly drive, smash through a wall and into the water. after about an hour, authorities were able to pull that wagon from the water. the 41 year-old driver still inside. she was pronounced dead at the scene. eyewitnesses say her car was traveling at a high rate of speed. a new casino is coming to south philadelphia. developers of the proposed live hotel and casino have won the cities second and final casino license. it is going to be built near the stadium complex at packer and darien and that is where

philly.com/watchers. i want to show you something interesting though that went on today. i teamed up with cancer survivor lane meyer today. we were at the the thanksgiving throw down at the free library of philadelphia challenging other survivors and local celebrities to cook. all proceeds of course go to help feed those in need during this holiday season. cancers centers of america sponsored this event at the library. we made a casserole, it was a sweet potato casserole. it didn't win but still a great time was had by all and i said don't tell my husband i can cook. live neighborhood network a across the delaware valley to pennsauken where win were gusting to 34 miles an hour and broomall at saint p ius the tenth, 40 miles an hour gusts. new castle county, 37. dover air force base gusting to 34 miles an hour. good news is those wind are subsiding but they are creating problems along the east side of the great lakes, eastern side. cold westerly winding ago

cross all of this water of lake erie. we call that the fetch. persistently blows the wind. yet moisture. these lakes are not frozen. it is a snow machine. we have win, water and you have lake effect snow producing 4 inches of snow an hour. we're talking about 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 inches of snow and here in new york we have an incredible picture where nearly 5 feet of snow has fallen. this fridays rick. this is the the path leading to his house, side door, just as tall as i am. really amazing that the winter wonderland. good news that intense snow ban is expected to shift north towards buffalo, overnight tonight. and that is when wind will be shifting. temperatures right now quite cold in the 20's. this is the temperature differential from yesterday at this time. temperatures ranging 20 to 30 degrees, colder right now, then they were yesterday a at this time. we are not alone. look at this, 50 state fell through freezing today.
